Sorry, but a carrier can't outrun a plane load of iron bombs either. The notion that some wonder weapon makes carriers obsolete is based in a great deal of ignorance.
…and the angled flight deck, the ski jump, the Plimsoll line, the steam catapult, the jet engine (with the Germans), turboprop engines, radar, steam turbines, gunboat diplomacy, the Harrier, the all-moving tailplane, etc.
lets talk about military tech in WW2. Germany was way superior and they lost, the Allies had the numbers, more soldiers more of lower quality equipment.
it's partly a legend, they were better in certain areas (especially tactics) but technically not that superior, the tanks were fragile but reliable at the beginning (panzer 1 2 3 4) then resistant but a strong tendency to fall broken down and cost horribly expensive (panther, tiger 1 and 2) to the point of rising to 50% of the losses due to breakdowns. and spend their resources on very advanced projects but neither up to date nor relevant.
Yes and no, the allies were in the same weight class technologically in most areas even when the Germans had somewhat better equipment, the allies were developing jet aircraft around the same time as the Germans although the Germans deployed them first, the Germans had much more advanced rocket technology, but the Manhattan project was years ahead of the German nuclear weapons program. The Germans had some very good tanks and other front line equipment but the vast majority of allied equipment was not completely obsolete in comparison. Most of the Germans early successes were probably due more to more advanced tactics and communications rather than technology. Technology alone is not always a decisive factor but it can be, if the allied armies were equipped toworld war one standards they would certainly have lost the war no matter how many bodies they threw at the Germans. Numbers can make up for technological drawbacks to some degree but if technology or tactics are too outdated numbers can only go so far.
Carriers and for that matter, any ship, cannot survive a hypersonic weapon. This means that the aircraft carrier as we know it is obsolete. It's time to rethink naval air deployment.
That depends on the size of the warhead in the hypersonic weapon and whether it gets a good hit. By your logic the kamikaze made carriers obsolete. Except it didn't. In war, ships get sunk.

(Which negates entirely the advantages in radar, sensing and stealth technology that are possed by the F-35 and F-22. They also tend to only allow them to carry certain shorter range missles or sometimes no missles at all and only allow them to use certain EW/Jamming systems.) It's kind of like saying "hey, I beat up mike tyson while his hands were cuffed behind his back!" 😂😂 In real life, the F-35 or F-22 would most likely take out pretty much any plane in existence before that plane even knew they were in the area. The only one with a chance really is the J-20, but even then I don't think they could quite hang with either jet. The chinese just aren't there with their stealth technology yet. Russia DEFINETLY isn't. One of the main facets of a stealth plane is that there can't be any edges or parts that stick out and return radar. The recent crash if the S70 Ohotnik showed that not only is russia not even close to the US, but their stealth technology is relatively non-existant. Not only was there no RAM on the drone to speak of, but there were exposed rivets EVERYWHERE. It was supposed to be their equivalent if the B-2 bomber, but it looks like something that was made by children in 8th grade shop class. 😂😂
I think the English way of thinking about air craft carrier correct why because you can move most of the air aircraft in the sky at a minute moment if you have a caterpillar this will take time
Caterpillar? 😂😂
Rafale in French is either a ‘squall’ or ‘fusillade of gunfire’, not a man’s name.
Either choice makes it the absolute perfect name for a fighter aircraft.
with the hyper........missiles it is less and less of an asset because they move slowly
Sorry, but a carrier can't outrun a plane load of iron bombs either. The notion that some wonder weapon makes carriers obsolete is based in a great deal of ignorance.
Didn't the Brits invent the carrier and the arresting wires system?
…and the angled flight deck, the ski jump, the Plimsoll line, the steam catapult, the jet engine (with the Germans), turboprop engines, radar, steam turbines, gunboat diplomacy, the Harrier, the all-moving tailplane, etc.
France needs US aircarriers with only one. 😂
French carrier is better to fly from though. IT has a pub!
@@rickwylie7322 I didn't know they had a pub! Gotta hand it to the French, they take their food and drink seriously!
France needs nothing dude

Wasn’t the catapult a British invention?
lets talk about military tech in WW2.
Germany was way superior and they lost,
the Allies had the numbers, more soldiers more of lower quality equipment.
it's partly a legend, they were better in certain areas (especially tactics) but technically not that superior, the tanks were fragile but reliable at the beginning (panzer 1 2 3 4) then resistant but a strong tendency to fall broken down and cost horribly expensive (panther, tiger 1 and 2) to the point of rising to 50% of the losses due to breakdowns.
and spend their resources on very advanced projects but neither up to date nor relevant.
So the French make some good kit. And?
I thought France dropped out of NATO?
was only from the joint operations. they never completly got out of NATO per say

Rafale not Rafael 😭
What does Zeus have to say about this?
On s'en moque 😃🤣😉
It's not yhe number of carriers that's the problem. It's their vulnerability to hypersonic missiles.
All these french teachers in the comments jeez 😂😢😮😅😊
Back ground nouse and music is terrible, probably a good video but I will not know
Just get to the point. Waste of time
they didn't even go over teh point of the video. barelly heard one reason why the rafale operates on US carriers the rest was about how great the bF35 and grippen are.

2) because we've seen at least one of the 2.75 gajillion videos already produced on this topic
3) because everything is better with bacon
The exact numbers doesn’t matter it’s whether if you can afford it. A medium size adult may say a 10 ounce steak as enough. While a cow may not be enough for some. Crux is how big is your head, for a pauper 11 aircraft carriers is 10 too much.

I'd rather hear a British man do the narration. But, not bad.

In the age of hypersonic missiles and drones, aircraft carrier is obsolete
Of course no
um the hypersonic missile can be intercepted by lasers and other hypersonics

Research into countermeasures for these weapons includes high-powered lasers and microwave weapons, rail guns and hypersonic interceptors, and knockout weapons to confuse, overload or disable subs. -critical systems.

Not all are out at sea at once. Some are in port for maintenance, some being resupplied.
But yeah it’s good to have these seaborne air wings for force projection and to keep the sea lanes for trade open.
For those uncomfortable with this, imagine having to deal with Russia, China and Iran as they jump into the void left by the withdrawal of US sea power.
As the saying goes, nature abhors a vacuum.
