Thank you for putting the extra attention to out of the box performance in your reviews! By doing this, you make your review relevant to all AV enthusiasts around the world. Nice one Neil ... me too. U can't beat garden movie nights. Loving your film choice haha! ps U must be living in the tropics cos weather is pantssssss! haha
In the video u say it cannot pruduce any highlights and that the HDR image is the same as SDR. This is just wrong. Watching the Infinity War in both sdr and hdr, the hdr is more impressive and immersive. If u try this in a bat cave, blacks although mediocre will be better with the filters on and the colour much better and the image has enough brightness. This pj is not for the living room people. If the dlp chip could be made to have batter native contrast, like 4.000:1 and they equiped it with a led light sourse, we are talking market domination. Ok im awake now
Thank you so much for completing this review, this was incredibly well produced, in depth and informative. I have been saving for this with my partner for a while now!
I would be really interested to see how your results are affected by using one of the new generations of (usually chinese made) ALR reflective projector screens; if it is actually possible to measure the display results whilst using this technology?!? I seem to remember the static wall mounted screens sometimes being available for less than £1000 for a decently large screen; with the floor mounted mechanically unfurling screens being far more expensive for obvious reasons. If an ALR projector screen improves brightness and contrast levels as much as some reviewers claim, it could present the end user with a very competitive option indeed for a huge, bright image with decent contrast levels for both daytime and nighttime viewing.
Hi, thanks for all that information. There are still 3d fans out there. I have been told it has 3d capabilities but no mention of it in your review? The 3d is probably in 1080p but a mention would have been good. For me it's just another projector with a clean picture.
Very good review. Very pleasant to watch. Question. Will you review EPSON EH-TW7100? TW7100 vs BenQ W2700 which is better for a dark home theater room? Which one has better black and contrast and HDR?
Hello. Thanks for great review. I just wanted to ask your opinion about upgrading w1700 to w2700. Is it worth to do? Mostly I use it for movies & series, but also some PS4 Pro gaming as a casual player. I don`t think that input lag should be an issue. Or is worth to go with w1700 & wait a bigger upgrade? Thanks in advance!
It's not upscaling. The projector produces a 1080p image of 1/4 of the pixels, four times for every frame, however not at the same time. Effectivity it runs at 240hz to produce a 4k image every frame (60hz), so our eyes perceive it as 4k.
Chris Wall I’d like to ask the same thing. It seems the uploader is not interested in answering questions in the comment section. I find that my W1700 cannot handle HDR content at all. Everything looks extremely dim and lifeless. W1700 is perfect for playing standard Blu-Ray discs, but not 4K UHD, unfortunately.
Theses jerkoffs never answer, the wanker doing this review only loves putting shit on dlp projectors, when in fact except for black levels, kick the ass off lcd shit...
Have just made the change. have mounted the projector on the ceiling but not installed the screen yet, so it's projecting into a wall, and even then it looks like a marked improvement and thats just out of the box with no tweaking...
@@markdemariassy8685 hey Mark, is it really that much better than a native 1080p? I currently have a Mitsubishi hc 4000, and want to step it up, if it's really worth doing so...
I have this projector i need help my lens has white dot from inside i think its from dust I don’t know what to do it’s so annoying seeing this dot in the screen😭😩💔
I just got one of these to "upgrade" my Benq W1070... MY W1070 was £400 8 years ago and was / is fantastic. The £1300 w2700 is crap in price to performance. Basically, the rattler that makes the pseudo 4K is noisy and the colours go ape poopy. (so operate in "silence" mode that disables it (making it a 1080p rec 709) and it seems a little duller than my outgoing w1070. (non-plus 1070) The HDR function just makes the HDR picture looks SDR when projected, so save money and send an SDR projector an SDR image. Silence mode does not affect the lamp brightness, just the XDR rattler. (Which buzzes a little louder than the fans) TLD if you have a W1070 or the W2000 this is not an upgrade at all, this is a turd (from an actual owner who used their own actual money)
Why do you lot dribble on about black levels for?! Name ONE commercial cinema projector with perfect blacks, and isn't that what we are attempting to create at home...?? I'd go with sharpness and image quality any day of the week over a less sharp with so called inky black
Can anyone help me, should I go for tk850i or tk700 ? Only casual gaming ...i watch movies only..as in India there is a price difference also .850 is 25% higher priced from 700...so should I prefer 850i or go with 700..

Is it as bright as the old Benq W1070 ? Should I upgrade? I'd use it as a 4k computer monitor part of the time.
Hi guys, can you give any advice on mounting distance from projector screen for 110inch screen?
Barry
Hope to see a review of the w5700
Nice job reviewing this projector. Do we know what is the closest distance that it can focus?
Benq W2700 or Optoma UHD55?

Correct, but you raise an interesting point about having the filters on in a bat cave, which i have...
Hi, great review question please, How do I turn off the wide colour gamma filter. Thanks

Hey... im new to all this. Can you tell me what's a good 4k DLP projector to use for 3D? BlueRay . And is the 3d easy to use?
yes 3D is easy and very good using a 1080p per left right image as opposed to a vast number of older 3D HD projectors using 1080i. Cheers
how does this compare to Viewsonic px727-4k?

How does the w1720 compare to it now?
Is this worth the 400 euro premium?
Do we have to change the filter for dlp or only bulb ?

So, it's not Native 4K and therefore can't accurately reproduce the picture off a UHD BD? If all that's happening is 1080p being upscaled?

what is the input lag on this projector? Can't find it
If u only care about input lag BenqTK850 and for movies the HT3550 for the $$$
50+ ms

Just bought the projector. It's hdr is not very good. Normal mode works very good but for a 4K projector it's a waste of time..
So what 4k beamer should you buy then ?
So if this is a $1,500 Fake 4K projector, where's my $2,000 Native 4K version?
people can't see the difference between true 4k and native 4k
If you can find a native 4k dlp projector for $2000, I'll buy myself and you one!😂😁😂😁😂😁

Wow fake 4K no thanks

Hi Sache ... probably best Faux 4k available at the moment - and at great price!
says the person that hasn't seen it. Look at it first versus a 1080P and you might sing a different tune.
