I have the Firefly in FDE with the threaded barrel. I have to say, this is a fun gun to plink with. It is ammo sensitive, so make sure you use high velocity ammo in it. You can use standard velocity, but you need to change the spring out with the spare one that comes with it. The quality is excellent too.
I had a Mosquito a while back, it was good etc. And only today I learned that the GSG Firefly exists and is a clone of that. This will be a super cool present for my 11 yo son this Christmas. Great video.
I used mine for self defense it really good it saved my life before one day I was riding a bike to the store to get some snaks and 2 gang number walk to me and tried to stab me and I shot the other one got him in the leg the other one ran but the one I shot fell on the ground after I shot him a week later I found he still live but he still got the Bullet still in his leg it was crazy though
Thanks for your video. I have already bought the gun. All I gotta tell you, it brings a lot of joy at the range, rally chuffed with my purchase. Greetings from Glesno, Poland ❤🇵🇱
Good Information. Thanks for quickly showing us how to disassemble /assemble this weapon. I appreciate the info on the safety features. You did miss the most important safety feature there is. You did not clear and inspect the chamber before takedown. Most of the demonstration videos I have come across by everyday people leave that out. While to some it’s common knowledge, but for a 1st time buyer that has no formal training and just wants to get some fast knowledge, missing that step can be very costly. The first rule when touching a firearm should be clearing and inspecting chamber. Otherwise this video was very informational. Thank you for that.
He did. Check out at 0:21, he locked the slide open and dropped the mag, the mag was clear, the chamber was clear, he continued to handle the gun till the point of disassembly, so all good in my book :)
Were they actual ammo problems or was it the spring you were using??? I thought the second spring was just a spare till someone commented on here that one is high velocity and the other is low. I haven’t had a problem since. Could it be that?
I got the mosquito and even for a 22, where you expect some malfunctions, it has a lot! I would not buy it again but its fun when it runs. I rather choose the baretta in 92 in 22 or the tairus tx22.
DC great question. I think a lot of people forget that there is an extra spring that comes with the Firefly. In my case however it was the ammo. One brand that my gun hates in particular is Aguila. On the other hand, it loves bulk ammo, Federal, Remington etc. One other issue for my gun is that it really needs to be kept clean. It's not hard to find negative comments about the Firefly but personally I really like it, fun to shoot and fairly accurate, even at distance.
A lot misfires and then it stop working on single action and i clean it every time i go to the range, bought new recoil and i always buy cci mini mag ammo, no matter what i do it gets worse
@@elvergalarga8477 old tiger comment addresses that. The spring in the gun is for high velocity rounds. Change the spring to spare the one in the case for regular rounds. Please let Me know of that works.
That safety actaully makes LOGICAL sense, straight parallel to the slide = ready to fire and down meaning STOP no fire. Unlike the AR platform which has it logically wrong
I bought this gun just before I retired from 28+ years in LE. I needed a .22 in my arsenal. I have found that my slide take down lever is extremely hard to rotate when putting the slide back on. Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue ?
Mine seemed to break in. The first few times I cleaned it I never ran into this problem. Then finally after a while it happened to me too. But only once tbh then nothing since then. But it was so tight I had to use a towel and pliers. Try it out again, especially after taking it to the range👍🏽👍🏽check the comments below to see about which spring to use. I hope you like it!
I have always been a revolver guy. I purchased the firefly about a year ago. I have never taken it apart. while shooting it for the first time I noticed that the mag would come loose. I rarely shoot this gun, however now I have the mag falling out after I fire it. I have also noticed that I can pull on the mag and it will come out without hit hitting the release button. Any suggestions on how to fit this ? ( and yes, I have tried other mags. )
I AM A MULTI SIG GUN OWNER-------HOWEVER, THIS SIG 322/mosquito, BOTH HAS ISSUES, sig quality control sucks, this gun never should have been allowed to be marketed
@@DCHamer-tp8ut kinda disappointed, went to the range yesterday, it jammed alot with 1280 fps rounds, alot of the times it didnt even cycle one into the chamber
@@DCHamer-tp8ut not yet, but I thought it was for standard velocity rounds and I'm not sure what fps is considered standard, also the rounds seem to stick in the mag so that may be the cycling issue
@@zackstanderfer3406 I hated this gun at first too because it jammed or ftf on me constantly. Then I learned the original spring is made for higher velocity 22’s. Switch the spring and you’re good to go with the ammo you were already using. I’d still recommend getting Aguila 22’s for that high velocity spring because they’re fun to shoot. That’s what I’m gonna use with the silencer too. Maybe clean the mag off again for that sticking issue?
Agree 100% with you. This gun is a pos. That may only fire CCI high velocity rounds. This company should recall and refund all the money wasted on this POS.
Biggest piece of junk I've ever purchased. Fails to cycle, fails to fire. DO NOT BUY THIS GUN! It is nothing but a disappointment. I own two of them I purchased at the same time. Junk scrap metal is all they are. My Ruger Mark I is ten times the pistol, and it is 50 years old. It rarely ever fails. My two GSG Fire flys failed the first time I used them , I even sent one back to the manufacturer it comes back still screwed up. Don't buy , Not worth any money if they don't work.
@@DCHamer-tp8ut Alright :D Thanks! Good price on this pistol, so im surprised it gets so good reviews. It's like half the price here compared to many famous brands like Sig and such

It's not aclone of the Sid, GSG makes the gun for Sig.
Can they still call it a clone even though it's made in the same building on the same machinery?
Great job on the tutorial! Thank you so much
Great video, informative. Just ordered one tonight. This video was helpful, thanks.

Your grammar equates to that of a 7 year old so I can't imagine this is super trustable. But in the event this is a real comment, nice job.
Really fluent overview, great work
Thanks! I love this gun
Great gun, I love mine. Polished the feed ramp and put a recoil spring fron Dawson and shoots everything I run through it.
That’s good info 👍🏽👍🏽 glad you like it

Nice presentation. However, you failed to address the threaded barrel issues with adapting a standard 1/2 x 28 suppressor.
Thanks for the instructional. I inherited one w/o any components or instructions, never shot, brand new. This helps.
It opens like the Keltec P17
Nothing like a Taurus TX22.
So I have had Firefly for two years and it has worked well with most ammo but there are a few that it would not eat.

Also holy shit, dry firing a rimfire is wild af especially when you have a snap cap.
Looks like a fun shoot. Cool vid

Go buy a Ruger Mark I you'll never have any issues. Mine is 50 years old and will out shoot any of these POS's.

I did not get no extra springs, with mine. It's a POS. When you have to buy top line 22lr ammo to make it work , you know it's junk.
My brother in Christ the firefly and the mosquito are the same pistol. Literally the same pistol made on the same tooling in the same factory.
I have a fat trigger finger. That trigger hurts my finger. Any way to straighten, or replace, that trigger???
Buen día, amigo tengo una igual gsg igual que esa, del vídeo, pero necesito su opinión la consideras una buena pistola. Te lo voy a agradecer gracias.
It's not a mosquito clone... Gsg made it for sig and sig rebranded it...it's made in the same factory it always was.

My question is the 2nd spring for LV will it be ok with HV ammo ? Not sure why HV spring would be in it and not just have one universal spring .
