It's absolutely insane that the missing girls was not a part of the original plot until Murph made his character a detective. Brennan really knocked it out of the park
That was a crazy revelation. The fact that Brennan can craft these intricate, interconnected story lines by the seat of his pants speaks to how good of a DM he is. Guess he has to be when the PCs decide to just ruin all his plans lol, like Gorgug and Kristen full dying to the corn cuties, or Riz Fabian and Gorgug straight up bodying the prom king villain in two turns.
Not to put him down because Brennan legitimately does it very well, but it's not that hard to do to some degree. You just make threads for your players to pull on and don't have much of a plan until the party starts going that route. Much easier said than done, but it's basically just improv where you have a week or more as heads up on what your next move should be. And if you need to make up something bigger than you're prepared for and it needs to be done NOW, you can just call a 20 minute break. It's ok to need a few minutes to fit puzzle pieces together.
It's a sign of a great DM. Being able to add or change the original plan for the player characters, rather than ignoring at worst and maybe a side quest at best.
I'm pretty sure he was already in "I'm gonna f*** that guy up" vibe when he saw his crush in the arcade screen while Biz was insinuating he's been "calling the shots" with the girls though.

Love the change to Riz's eyes when he pulls his gun out. Really love the touches like that, and like when Brennan describes the change in Skloda's eyes in a similar way. Really just pulls everything really together.

in my games goblins aren't actually naturally ugly just like humans aren't, they just don't tend to take care of themselves due to their wild tribe-like lifestyle. human society perceives them as ugly just because they are different and have the stereotypes of being feral, evil and eating children. i prefer that it is more realistic racism since in the real world, racism is born from the fear of difference and unknown rather than foreign peoples actually being horrible and monstrous.

I think it was on twitter Brennan said it was more of the mind magic was used to make the others forget each other, so if they decided to give up on their part of the plan, they wouldn't be able to tell on the others. Kinda of how terroristcells often doesn't know about eachother, but with mindmagic.
I could be super wrong, but the way I remember it, it seemed more that magic was used to put the IDEA for the plan in Biz's head, but it was then basically his own decision to actually go ahead and enact it, rather than him being under any stronger coercion. That's the impression that I came away with; That the idea wasn't his own, but he found it agreeable enough to do it under his own steam and was indeed actually that much of a creep.

plus, I think Brennan as a DM has always kinda shown that while you can be influenced by magic, short of a domination spell you can't be *made* to do something you wouldn't otherwise. sort of like intrusive thoughts - someone can plant a bad idea in your head, but it's up to you how you respond to it. I'd like to think that if most of us started having intrusive thoughts about weird incel shit, we'd like...talk to a friend, go see Jawbone or something. it's another thing to act on it.
