    If James Franklin does not make the CFP this year he needs to face serious scrutiny. This is the easiest schedule Penn State has had since the 2017 season at LEAST and this Penn State team is Top 25 in returning production with upgrades in the coaching staffs. I think the mood of Penn State fans is "Prove it".

    • @702TifosiGambler
      @702TifosiGambler หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No clue If Allen is an upgrade at DC over Diaz I would lean hell no, but with 2 new Coordinators this would give Franklin and excuse
      as long as the offense significantly improves with explosive plays and integrating the deep pass game, Penn St should be fine.
      Looking at their schedule If they can come out with a Win in the opener in the ultimate trap game with a new staff on the road,
      only hiccup I see is Ohio St, USC could be a wildcard lets see what they look like at QB. Penn St avoids Mich this year so 1 loss
      and headed to rematch Ohio St in the Champ game is conceivable.

      @@702TifosiGamblerif one thing Allen will improve on this defense is two things that sorely lacked under Diaz…
      1. Tackling. The pressure during the Diaz era was mind blowing but the tackling had to be some of the worst in my lifetime during Diaz. Too many missed tackles extended plays.
      2. Help for the DB’s. Granted Diaz’ pressure defense made it difficult at times for passing games yet against elite teams they allowed teams to get bailed out due to single converse. Harrison Jr might be gone but Ebuke is still at OSU and I’d feel a lot comfortable w/ some safety help that Allen will bring more than Diaz
      You are definitely correct that the mods is “prove it.” The biggest thing to look at is even if PSU makes the playoff now, where will they be seeded? Then, will they be a “one and done” team for the next decade and we’ll hear Franklin make about two or three “great to elite” speeches again.

      If he doesn't make a 12 team playoff this year, screw scrutiny..fire him. Michigan had to replace their coordinators in 2022 and still made a 4 team playoff. They pretty much had to replace an oc or DC every year in their 3 consecutive playoff runs

    • @702TifosiGambler
      @702TifosiGambler หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ringostarrgazer2419 Ok big shot well you better have a viable replacement in mind, you also left out Harbaugh cherry picked his staff from his NFL brothers staff and they’re still cherry picking NFL staff with the Wink hire who is the founder of the now infamous Baltimore and Michigan defense of recent years not every HC has the connections to make those moves most HC resort to stealing their cross town rivals talented staff ie: Lincoln Riley.
      Penn St still has major questions at QB & WR and their OC who ran the Leipold offense excelled with a dynamic dual threat QB.
      Penn St at best is 3rd in B10 behind Ohio St & Oregon and that’s assuming Mich is rebuilding this year.

The problem is Drew was scared to death to throw downfield quite a few times when WRs were open, and mike Yurcich offense sucked. He played 12 personnel and didn't spread the field and scheme WRs open like regular spread teams.

    Penn St and Oregon are the wildcards this year, Penn St has a sweet schedule avoiding Oregon and Michigan and getting Ohio St at home.
    Oregon essentially opens with 6 games at home or limited travel road games, 2 true home games, in state road game vs Oreg State, at UCLA,
    home vs Mich St and home vs Ohio St which I think is the game of the year.
    If Penn St offense looks anything like Kansas' offense from last year they'll be the most improved team in the country.
    Ohio St is the best team in the country imo.
    B10 should be fascinating this year.

    Unfortunately, if Penn State receivers can’t create separation or Allar can’t connect with said receivers, it’s imperative that Beau Pribula start at QB. As a running QB, he will give Penn State’s offense a fighting chance to win big games. On another note, this must be Franklin’s deciding year.
