Bodie is my favorite character since I first watched this show 13 years ago. I don’t know why I was drawn to him so much but he shoots it straight and you never have to wonder where you stand with him. Glad we feel the same way.

Ok, I'm loving the fact that you've broken the last couple of episodes into two parts, so we get a more in depth breakdown of them. Don't know if you intend to keep it up cos I appreciate it'll take a lot more work but I for one would love it.
I'm also loving the fact that you're getting really excited for these characters, your passion is really showing through and it reminds me of my first watch of this show. Puts a smile on my face.

I had the same reaction during Marlo's introduction. Got to give it up to the actor. It's not easy playing a character that doesn't show a lot of emotion and still be able to have the presence he has. Good luck with trying to rank the best characters from the show. I'm interested to see where you put Omar and McNutty.

Rip to the 🐐 Michael K. Williams ❤️🙏 Will never be forgotten. I'm so glad you like Bodie so much, my ABSOLUTE favorite character in this entire show although admittedly it took a few multiple viewings for him to get there. Poot is also a very underrated character. ALL of The Wire season openers are phenomenal, but my favorite one is definitely the Season 4 opener. Seasons 1 and 2 openers are quite underrated imo so I'm glad you like Season 1's so much. The opener for Season 3 is very good also. It mostly basically foreshadows the future of the Barksdale Organization, but there's so much more that it's saying which you rightfully spoke on. As great as Season 2 was/is (Idc what anyone says Season 2 is great as hell), it was such a catharsis feeling to be taken back to the streets of Baltimore with the characters we met in the first season. Season 3 is my favorite season and is probably the season that hooked me into The Wire completely. I mean I was hooked before, but this season *hooked* me. Cannot wait to see the second part and your takes and thoughts going forward!

She made a memoir years ago based on her life and upbringing in Baltimore and it was very eye opening indeed. So glad she was able to turn her life around for the better.

Nice tribute at the beginning. Saw him at a target few years ago, just as humble as you could imagine. He was born in Brooklyn but had family in Harrisburg, which he called, basically a second home. He would go and spend time and talk with kids at the elementary schools in the city any time he was in the area. He touched many peoples lives in multiple ways, he will surely be missed and remembered forever.
Theirs gonna be a tribute every vid until I can’t find nothing more, which is impossible. So much knowledge, wisdom and humanity at its peak from that man ✊🏾

Hahahaha Poot is one of the most underrated characters. He has so many good one liners, every season. The little guy that stands tall and knows how to play the game. I love his innocence when asking stringer if they are gonna look like bitches…he was in serious thought about the situation and just spoke too freely. Shit kills me.

Just wanted to say started watching these reactions a few days ago and love the little during edit/post completing the season extra commentary, because so much of this show is layered and layered that you miss stuff the fist time and seeing you come back and notice those things is cool. I've re-watched the 7-10 times myself and find new things I didn't notice every time. XD

0:48 I feel you. I think I went into mild shock when I heard the news. Rewatching the whole show right now - with plans to follow it up with 'Boardwalk Empire' soon afterwards. When I started watching 'Boardwalk' the first time with my friends they recognised Chalky as Omar and the way they talked about him was enough to make me decide to watch the show. Soon as he appeared I just kept thinking 'Ok, you have one episode to impress me'. I was.

Life ain’t been cool for awhile. I drop 9 vids every week on Patreon along with extras. Time, I put a lot into these reactions. Past computer issues. I do a lot of shows on my channel an some of my anime are ongoing airing every week, those come first before anything when it comes to YT. Time doe fr, one man doin a lot. The Neville Brothers perform the intro for season 3... I wasn't familiar with them at the time when I first watched this show back in 2007, but those guys are excellent.

14:24 This scene with Carver feels so much different after you've watched the rest of the season, as well as season four. It's exactly what Colvin talks to him about later, a whole generation of police who just treat the neighborhood they're supposed to be policing like occupied territory. Everyone on every corner is their enemy, no one is willing to talk to them, and the only solution they have is violence and the threat of violence.
Thanks to Colvin, Carver learns and improves, and there's a great contrasting scene in season four where Carver shows he's learned something about the benefits of actually getting to know people in the neighborhood he's policing, rather than just showing up to throw them against a wall or beat the crap out of them.

That really wasn't fair of them - to show us Poot and Bodie walking down the street with a guy with the braids and let us think even for 2 seconds that it was like when the show began and that that was Wallace with them. That's just cruel even for this show.

A great season! You're right, the reform in the system would be an incredibly difficult task, and this season shows it. But it also shows reform in the individual is possible through Cutty's story. And positive changes have to start from there.

Oh man i cant wait for you to get into the Cutty storyline, to me hes one of the most interesting characters in the wire. A true soldier that figured out how to escape the game and be a success story later on. Almost a grown up Bodie if things went a little different. Also the story of him killing the guy and calling the cops to come pick him up is a real life thing that happened in Baltimore in the 80s.
