@@leekimwah oh really? That's so cool. I'm curious if we would be able to find them in Brussels as well. There aren't that many Chinese restaurants. London has a great food scene. Some of the best Indian food I've had.
I love that you went all over China using public transportation! We were there a few years ago with a tour and it was frustrating because we never had enough time doing the the things we enjoyed and we were dragged to a lot of government-run souvenir shops. I want to go back and see Xi'an and some of the other cities you visited. I'm even more intrigued after seeing your street food tasting.

Naick & Kim we used to have civil war between eating fresh tofu sweet or salty, have sticky rice Big with meat fillings or sweet dry fruit or bean paste filling, there is another fight about if five nuts filling mooncake a dark food. It’s like a civil cyber war but in the end it more like people taking pride in their own food culture and sale of all food involved have a huge increase in sale in the time period, since they are all tasty anyway. But yeah, we do take that unseriously serious.🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈Hope you guys enjoy your trip in China. 😇😇😇
Xian Great shots of the Muslim quarter .. is Datong too far to go into the "real" China yungang grotto is amazing even if it's a big industrial workhorse of a city Suzhou .. Hangzhou .. the lake is great for cycling around .. if it's good enough for Marco Polo allegedly .. Most importantly Enjoy the trip It's great for the pair of you to have a record of t he trip ENJOY
In Shanghai .. in the yuyuan market step back 100 metres or so around its perimeter .. there's some great pottery shops etc there .. The bund of course is good .. but don't leave Shanghai without using the "carriage" under the river on the bund ... A few euros total .. it's so bad it's good .. about 5 minutes of your life you won't forget .. strobe lights lasers etc Is kite flying still popular there ??
haha, we read that it is indeed the most complicated one. I wonder how you remember all those characters. Is there a relation to the character and the meaning of it?
@@NaickKim Actually we can categorise Chinese characters into two types: the original and the assembled. (maybe I am using the wrong terminology as I am just a mathematician, not a professional Mandarin teacher) The original characters are basically just a picture of its meaning, e.g. 鸟 meaning bird looks like a bird. The assembled characters are composed of several original characters or their major component to indicate the combined meaning, e.g. 林 means forest consists of two 木 (means wood) The daily used characters are around just three thousand and normally people can get to used to them in approx. one year or so.

There are too many unique foods in China. Even many Chinese have never eaten. Guangdong Province alone is enough for a year. There are more than one hundred chickens. Fortunately, Chinese people are not easy to get fat.
As a native, I am not a fan of the desserts either, except the Zenggao, or Jinggao in local dialect. It is also rice and dates but no rose paste. These things always make people full and you are not supposed to enjoy that when you've already had a lot. By the way, the Muslim Quarter is a bit too commercialized nowadays and the food is not always good, but it seems that you really did a lot of research and were able to find the right ones. And I believe the unknown sweets you had are actually made from green bean paste, and of course a lot of sugar. The best part of Xi'an is its history, you really should explore the museums, like Beilin and Shaanxi History Museum. Interesting vlogs and enjoy your days in China!

Most of the places were really very busy with locals. So it had to be good haha. Thanks for the info on the sweets! We did find some good desserts in Chongqing, but they were more western style.

The spice sauces in the north part of China are more tasty than spicy, in the south part, they are really spicy, it burns.
