For those who dont understand, he still has 2 more years on his rookie deal bringing the yearly money to 43.5 mill over the next 7 years. It wouldve only gotten more expensive as you wait closer to the end of the rookie deal. With restuctures down the road the deal isnt bad. And yes theres a reason they fell of a cliff, they were 8-3 before he was hurt with a twisted knee, high grade ankle sprain, ac joint injury, and concussion.

@MildsandThatYac dude was playing with a busted knee, high grade ankle sprain, AC joint injury, fresh of a concussion. All while playing with the quickest colapsing pocket in the NFL, bottom 3 run game, and the most points lost due to drops in the the last 7 years. There's a reason they fell off a cliff once he got hurt.

Simms has proven to us yet again how crucial it is to constantly study film to actually know what’s going on. Yet these 2 geezers refuse to do their job and actually watch film. In this video you hear Cherene say, “The Jaguars think Lawrence is the guy….if he is indeed the guy..” blah blah. Cherene why are you saying IF?! If you actually did your job and studied the tape you wouldn’t have to say “if” or wonder. You’d know if Lawrence is really that dude. Simms knows. And he only knows cuz he watches film. State income tax doesn't mean a damn thing. I've lived in 7 different states, some with high income tax, some with low income tax and some without any income tax. At the end of the day it's about total cost of living, not some silly state income tax. For example, Kansas City Missouri (which has income tax) is significantly cheaper to live than Miami (which has no income tax) also, Green Bay Wisconsin has a significantly lower cost of living then Las Vegas (which has no income tax). I'll even add this, I'm from Illinois which has a fairly low income tax and when I was at a previous job I got transferred to Austin Texas which has no income tax. I was actually losing more of my paycheck living in Texas than Illinois. The reason is because things like auto & property insurance is significantly higher. Property tax is significantly higher. Sales tax is higher. Utilities are significantly higher. You have to look at TOTAL cost of living & quality of life and I hate to break this to you but Florida is one of the most expensive states to live in.

Can't. A QB could play 17 great games and go 0-17. Wins are not a QB stat. They are a team stat. No QB has ever won a game all by himself. Zero in NFL history. The guy in KC has won ZERO game by himself. He didn't play defends. He didn't kick FDs. He doesn't block. He doesn't run routes. He needs the other guys to win games or he's 0-17.

I'm an NFL fan who really has no favorite team. What I find hilarious is that I like the Steelers' QB situation better than I like the QB situation of a team like the Jags. They're paying Wilson the minimum and Fields rookie scale. Because of the overall quality of their team they will likely win more than they lose and make the playoffs. Maybe one of their QB's will work out enough that they will re-up them next year or maybe not. Even if they don't re-sign either, the market or the draft will provide them an option which will likely be as good or better than locking in a mediocre starter like Lawrence for five years. Chances are no NFL team can make the conference final nor the SB without at least a top ten QB. But teams like the Jags have no chance spending that much cap on a middle of the pack QB surrounded by what at best is mediocre supporting parts.
