Awesome video showing how much work goes into these vehicles.
Yep, if only I could have one for myself! 😂
Yo ace! Big fan!
Dude how can i found you here 😂😂
@@tahaproud lmaoo fr, i was j curious and I find the dude where I get all my mods from
All im gonna say is that CHP is one of my favorite highway departments in the U.S.!!!
the black & white styled livery is my favorite
I really enjoyed this video. The CHP is really upgrading their equipment which is nice to see. All of the officers out there deserve the very best. Be safe out there!
As an Officer he appreciates the hard work these techs do. I appreciate that there are officers who actually work a beat and keep my wife and kids safe.
Absolutely.
No offense, but the fact that you think that the police are keeping your wife and kids safe shows how unsafe they really are! The safety of your family is yours and yours alone!
If you have to depend on another man protecting your wife and kid, then sorry to burst you ego but you are the female in the relationship and fyi females cheat on beta males like you
Great video. Would love to see fleet operations on the other end taking apart the retired units.
I would like that also.
No you dont. If you saw how cost cut downfitting vehicles is then you wouldn't touch an ex emergency vehicle with a 10ft pole
Those guys are the back bone of the CHP. They are to be praised and thanked for ensuring those patrol vehicles are safe to operate. To Fleet Operations,, thanks for your service.
Who ever edited this did a great job
The music is annoying and unnecessary though

California hands down has the best highway patrol in nation. A total class act and so glad we have them!
Next to FL and Texas

Texas DPS is top notch too
Hands down, they’re the BEST state agency
CHP, getting a 2021 Ford Explorer? awesome!

Thank you for the continued media involvement CHP.
CHP as legendary police force as NYPD or even more! Keep up protecting the people! Oh and HI from Finland!
9:43 There is a lot of work to be done. Thanks for the great video CHP.
ive always thought it was fascinating to see all the police tech being used. Kudos
CHP you have the most beautiful police cars fleet and specially lighting pattern
Okay that intro was good. That was great
U play roblox
Alvin picked the wrong day to come to work high, bro was stressed lmaooo
i remember my CHP brother brought up "run outs" from LA to be exchanged for a new one to take back down. he brought a 1974 Dodge Monaco up and i got a ride in it. those were the days that they made cop cars. the fleet ops was on meadowview road in south sac right next to the old academy
I will do everything in my power and overcome any barriers in my way to become a CHP officer! Seeing this up close gave me more drive.
and im sure you will do everything in your power to abuse and harrass the good working people in our communities. dont become a cop for all of our sake

Had no idea on what it takes to get a patrol cruiser out on the road, thanks to all the hard working chp technicians, your work is extremely appreciated!!
What I find very interesting is that they equip and fabricate all necessary features and equipment in house. I never knew that! Not in/from California but visit frequently. Keep those roads safe guys
Thank you CHP officers as a truck driver I always feel safe on the road when I see you guys with a lot of crazy drivers out there thank you 🙏 and be safe 😎 love your new rides
AWESOME VIDEOS, STAY SAFE CHP OFFICERS 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love the tahoe with this livery
This is one of my most favourite police/highway patrol department!
Very impressive, there should always be 2 officers in a patrol car.
I support the police.
The modifications are great , perform by professional techs.
It just makes you feel to know all the care that goes into a cruiser
Family have a blessed day
Our chip guys deserves the best equipments as they are generally out alone and backup response is always a long time away.
They forgot to put the State Trooper on the fenders. 😄
I miss seeing the CHP Crown Vic it's the most beautiful vehicle ever!
Cleetus McFarland has entered the chat
Same too. I saw the hardtop and the polar bear before
I miss the '94-'96 Chevy Caprice LT1 patrol cars otherwise know in civilian hands as the Impala SS, these replaced most of the Mustang LX pursuit cars because they were faster and had a back seat.
GM gave up the cop car fleet market to focus the Arlington, Tx plant that made these full-size cars for profit making full-size SUV's instead.
Alvin is a rockstar!
Thank you so much! I really liked this video! So cool! Love the shot across the Golden Gate Bridge! Good job guys!!
I have nothing, NOTHING to say about the CHP but good things. They're the most professional law enforcement agency I've come across. Sheriff deputies tend to be aggressive and visibly distrustful of everybody around, local cops tend to be more in your face as if they have something to prove to someone.
If you ever get pulled over by the CHP is because you really effed up and probably don't deserve just a warning. They're cool AF to talk to when you approach them.
Nice video. I would love to see a video about K9s or some of your other divisions/operations
Very cool. It’s like watching Cybernetics Law build. Terminator ticket catchers. So much work and art into an interior of a law enforcement vehicle now. I often wonder why the front light bar is not lowered and molded above the glass front window to disappear and the rear is built into the back mounded into black rear drip wing above the rear window. The grunt push bar should have chrome rubber bumper breaks so the grille is not visually bisected when a driver looks from the rear. Configurable LED fronts to look low K old lamp style or new with flip switch. Rear lights can flip from LED to old incandescent bulbs to mimic old suburban. Specially designed rear electro chromatic letter change to design to hide letters for approaching speeders. I think that next level can really dial it up. Honestly, I miss the days of getting caught from pacing, air patrol, and good old cat and mouse fun. No electronics. Haha.
I love ya CHP! #CHPISTHEBEST!
CHP FOR THE WIN
@@CallMeAhSirHKP yeah i agree, i think they are a pretty good agency.
nice video. I like how the light controls are up close to eye level and u don't have to look down much to use them.
I like the new computer system. Before to turn on the lights/sirens the Officers had to snake their hands underneath the computer but the new setup is way more ergonomic.
Awesome video! Although I really wish they kept their classic style lights but now in LED! Just like Las Vegas did with their spinning V lights but in LED now.
The Chevy Tahoe is a great choice.
I don't see how the CHP can do vlogs without doing one on motorcycle patrol
Love those new Tahoes!!
Awesome video CHP!! Love the intro.
I would love to be a tech here in SoCal for the CHP. Maybe I'll apply!

WOW !! I guess the rumors are squashed that CHP was not gonna order more "exploders" lol. Cant wait to grab me a K2X Tahoe PPV at auction in next few years
You would not believe the work that goes into equipping a Police Car, I don't care if it is just minimal Lights and Siren with Radios and Prisoner Transport packages. I have nothing but complete respect for these Technicians.
When are you guys getting the new 2021 Tahoe’s? Great video production if I do say so my self! 👍
Oh ain’t know CHP

My fav agency is the Montana Highway Patrol. But i still do like how the CHp does these vlogs!
CHP should do another video on fleet operations! Really interesting!!!
Great Video. That would be a cool job to have.
As a truck driver who sees highway patrol and state trooper vehicles all over the country...I can say CHP has the meanest looking and darkest possible black vehicles in the country!
P.s.: 55mph on a highway and interstate ain't happening. Sorry
Along with Georgia State Patrol!

Some departments have their 2021 Ford Explorer out in Patrol. They do look really good.
so cool California Highway Patrol 👍
Good to see Alvin!
These cars they make are so beautiful
The new computer/radio/lights and siren setup looks awesome...although, I have to admit my only dislike is the siren. I was kinda hoping that the custom siren that's been used the last 11 years would've carried over, but a siren is a siren. Really like how the push-button lights and arrow directional indicator lights mimic the lightbar flash patterns, that's pretty cool
Yea, the siren is basically just a slightly modified whelen sapphire. It’s not unique anymore.
@@official_pol2198 would've been nice if the tones could've been tweaked to have a lower-pitch sound, but, oh well.
@@chpman2013 yea, it’s unfortunate.
@@official_pol2198 well, as long as it alerts people like any other siren (even awful ones), that's all that truly matters.
I had NO idea the vehicles were built in-house. For any department. I assumed they came from an OEM-approved third-party vendor. Unreal. Thanks for posting this.
We are the only agency in the nation with an assembly style production. All vehicles are purchased from the Manufacturer with specifications made for CHP.
Great video! Thanks!

Hold are you guys adding 2021 explorers to CHP?!!! FINALLY!!!
CANT WAIT FOR 2021 TAHOES!!
ew no thanks
@@fab8657 k
I have an odd feeling like there wont be 2021 tahoes due to the 2021 explorers, also it seems like they have a stockpile of like a million 2020 tahoes.
@@TheGlxy they did switch from Explorers to Chargers and Tahoes because of the poor realiability of the Fords, we will see. I still hope for some V8 Chargers
@@fab8657 And now their switching back to Explorers instead of Tahoes because tahoes are junky and slow (Top speed 121mph without equipment compared to a FPIU that is 150mph without equipment) . Not sure what you mean by reliability issues with the FPIU.. They still have tons of them in service statewide. The Tahoes were made for the northern part of the state originally and have been switched to a statewide patrol vehicle. V8 Chargers will always remain in service within the CHP. They did show a 2021 Dodge Charger in the proto area so there's no reason to think of the dodge chargers being retired anytime soon.
Reminds me of CHiPs
That was my dream job, probably not the CHP but some kind of local law enforcement job. Unfortunately due to disabilities I was unable to pas stage written test.
Awe El Cajon just southeast from my San Diego location
Beautiful lettering on the doors, there. That's a steady wrist.
Urinary tract at watts. I'm.convinced that was a date about oh, when automobiles first drove faster than race horses.
Get off the sugary drinks, ladies.
Has CHP thought about visiting Tesla factory to see how the Tesla on board camera systems are installed and operate.. that would be a great system to install on CHP cars exteriors..
CHP is it true with the new 2021 Tahoe’s they are getting a new Siren? Videos have Surfaced showing the cars responding with a different Siren?
They are currently using a new system that will be equipped on new cars.
I enjoy watching police programmes, just a small comment when the officer gets out after a criminal, the siren sometimes stays on, it may be possible to fit a cutoff switch under the drivers seat so it goes off, then the officers could hear each other. Stay safe and well
I really like the new squad cars
I would love to know when the 2021 explorers will hit the road!!
Sehr gute Autos und gute Videos
I saw the Ohio State Highway Patrol discussing how they equip their vehicles bases on the CHP way. Do the CHP still test police vehicles like the Michigan State Police?
Yes.
I cant wait for the 2020
Keep the videos coming👏👏👏
Wow, wig wagging spotlights. I’ve never seen one in person before. I like how y’all still use the halogen ones too, I think they look cool, and they’re also good for melting ice/defogging the windshield. The LED ones don’t get nearly as hot.
But anyways, I like tahoes and chargers (and caprices and especially crown vics, even though they don’t make them anymore) but I’m not a fan of the explorers. I know they’re fast as hell, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t like they have those twin turbos on a little 3.0L v6 making all that power. Those turbos are known to have problems and the engines too, cause they can’t handle all that power being so small (really any time a car comes from the factory turbo, they have issues and the engines tear up quickly). I like naturally aspirated V8s because you make the same power, but it’s big enough to handle it, and the gas mileage really isn’t a big difference at all, especially for anything that weighs over 4,000 lbs or especially 5,000 lbs Small engines have to work harder and spin faster and that. So really the only difference is the V6 tears up quicker. And any engine with a turbo costs 3 or 4 times as much to replace. They’re not as inherently reliable even without the turbos. Plus they don’t sound 1/100th as good lol I’m sticking with my outdated, slow crown vic
I thought the Charger was working out better than the Explorer for CHP. Are they still getting Chargers for 2021?
Mike 201, the CHP does still have Chargers in their fleet. In fact, its the only sedan they have in their fleet as of today, after the Crown Vic was removed from their fleet in 2020.
I believe CHP MIGHT BE THE ONLY DEPARTMENT WHO DOES IT ALL IN HOUSE , I know MSP Michigan state police has third party do it . Love the video
Where does MSP even go?
NYPD is all in house as well
@@Unknown_Paramedic I’m in the Detroit area . I have seen them outfitted in SouthGate and in Detroit , I’m sure there other locations in the state as well . Everything does come MSP blue from the factory thought

This video is awesome, I always expect some videos like this! I'm really a big fan of the CHP Charger, it's an amazingly good looking car. Btw stay safe officer, respect!
Officer? You can’t be to much of a fan to call a Trooper a Officer
@@RonDeSantis2028 you’re wrong, they’re not troopers. In CHP they are called officers.
@@RonDeSantis2028 they literally called each other “officer” at the beginning of the video
@@RonDeSantis2028 Unlike many states (I’m an over the road truck driver so I know this), California Highway Patrolmen are not known as state troopers, they are known as officers. In states like Missouri and Ohio, for example, the term “State Trooper” is printed right on their patrol vehicles.
@@SoCal780 Because they are Missouri State Police and Ohio State Police they are referred to as officers. But CHP SCHP NCHP etc are referred to as Troopers
This is an amazing episode
What was the reason for the switch from the hands free lightbar controller/police radio/radar touch screen unit to the new set up?
I think the old computer was outdated
@@CallMeAhSirHKP Thats probably why.
Their old system was designed by Rockwell Collins which has since been dissolved a few years ago.
in carson city we have had the Ford Explorers and all of the ones we say there ones \
I love the CHP siren
I hate the new one tho. Custom siren FTW
Just a question why dont you say Trooper instead of Officer? By the way love the video on seeing how the CHP cars are made
CHP go by Officer
Usually they go by trooper for state departments, deputy for county and officer for municipality.
They go by Officer. In new mexico they go by patrolmen

They should be on road by the end of Summer.
@@CHPCareers I also heard you guys are getting new Tahoes as well! Defantily waiting for them to be uncovered!
Great video
I would love to take a tour of all the cars on that lot. I wonder what they use the blue Chargers for; perhaps just general unmarked patrol but that blue color looks great. I also spotted a couple older box Chevy’s and I wonder how many miles those have on them. Probably not many.
The regular Chargers are commander’s vehicles and aren’t used for patrol. Which older Chevys are you referring to? Cars or trucks?
@@scottydelrey Oh okay that makes sense. The commander Chargers look really slick. Do you know if CHP gets their Chargers with the V8 or the V6?
The Chevy I saw was around 9:44 and it wasn’t a marked CHP unit or anything it looked more like a utility truck, all white. Sometimes those old state owned trucks have super low miles on them and are some of the best reserved examples of those old trucks. Not sure if that’s the case here as I’ve also seen state vehicles in rough shape so it’s hit or miss. Some of the auctions I’ve been to had some 80’s Chevy’s with 20k miles. It was insane.
@@Ward413 The Dodge Charger Pursuit they use is a V6 RWD with the optional 220mm rear axle which increases the payload capacity by 200 lbs. Payload capacity for the Dodge Charger Pursuit V6 RWD is a little over 1350 lbs. of payload capacity. The V6 RWD Dodge Charger Pursuit is the heaviest payload sedan offer since the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The only other sedan that came close but did not reach CHP payload capacity was the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan 3.7L V6 AWD. The payload capacity for that vehicle was a little over 1340 lbs. Those are only two sedans with over 1300 payload capacity. They do not offer these two vehicle anymore. So CHP will be picking a new vehicle in 2021. Base of the video it looks like there going back to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility.
@@johnc99444 CHP must have unique payload requirements as Highway Patrol in states like Ohio, Arkansas, Oklahoma, etc use the Charger with the V8. But I think the V8 Pursuit Charger now comes with AWD so that would definitely destroy payload. So I can see why CHP went with the V6 RWD it’s just too bad as the V6 feels a little underpowered in a 4200 pound vehicle; and that’s without all their LE equipment. Hopefully CHP grabs some of the new Tahoe’s as well as those are really slick looking. The Ford Utility redesign is still growing on me.
I haven’t seen any of the new 2021 Ford Explorers yet with the CHP…
This was an awesome video! Very informative!
