I like the seemingly harmless cartoony-ness of the original, but I *also* like the more forwardly disturbing design of the remake. Both versions have their own unique appeal.
The original is just a still image moved a bit. It’s lazy.
I didn't like the original one because the initial sprite has pretty much no animation what so ever. It is just a still image stretched to one side
I really do feel like vessel has the roughest sprites in the phantom attack series. Not bad but don't really catch what Lord X goes for. That's kind of what I like about this and the other remaster. The first is more like a fake costume but the others are clearly him "playing with his food" so to speak
The first remaster is easily the best tho

The remake one is way more creepy then the original one
Honestly, both are good in their own way. Original goes for luring his victim in and catching them off guard while the remake goes for the straight forward to the kill while having fun torturing his prey.
I adore the remake, but can I say, the head of the second phase of the original's down pose makes me wanna give him a lil head pat, he just looks so cute
To be honest, both of these vessels have an unsettling vibe to them but I have to go with the remodel because of how unsettling that true lord x form is.

Thoughts:
Remake's disguise looks better than the Og, but I really like the spinning thing Og's head does when Lord X reveals himself
The first phase of the original doesn't even have poses, the model just shifts around. I'm definitely going with the remake on this one.
You should compare the remake to the minus version since they have a animation for WELCOME BACKKCCKCKCKCL

I really like the remake, it's a perfect interpretation of what I thought I was gonna get when I played this song

The most creepy thing is the fact that. the original and remake are looking right at me.

The remake is definitely much better than the OG, especially when Lord X reveals his true form. The remake looks very creepy and menacing, (in a good way) and just... looks like Lord X, while the OG looks like that little kid who just won't leave you alone (I'm referring to the true form, not the faker form)

There were actually 2 remakes of this mod, this one being the second.
And I prefer the first remake for Lord X's 1st phase, and the second remake for the 2nd phase. If any of that even made any sense.
This comment section thinks that these are the only redesigns for this mod but ther exist a disguise reskin that has the perfect mix

I like the design of the original even though it looks like a needlemouse, the remaster looks good, it's epic except for the transformation to Lord X, that fat design doesn't like it at all

Yeah, it actually looks like a Sonic cartoon from the 90's, this one is better than the original but doesn't quite look as sinister as it should.

Both look so good! But it's nice how the remake adds that extra movement I always wanted to see with Lord X's first form. The poses are so awesome! And the art looks incredible in the second phase too!
My favorite thing about it is how skeletal hand thing from his mouth looks, it's freaking awesome in the remake's style.

I can't be the only one that HATES this comparison. First off, the two sprites aren't even comparable to begin with. They are two completely different sprites at this point. Also the "remake" is not appealing at all.
