I'm 46yrs old. Seeing Cypress Hill for the FIRST TIME this Friday, (4•26•24,) since Lollapalooza 1995. I was 18yrs old. *Taking MY 18yr OLD daughter...
I called my local radio station back in 2000 or 2001. Power 106 (105.9 fm) and won tickets to Big Boys backstage breakfast party in uptown Whittier, Ca. where Cypress Hill performed on stage. Their live performance rocked the club. I'll always love them and all their music. Cypress Hill
Poor kids. The 90’s was where it was at. I remember waiting for videos to come on…….on MTV. Ans we were happy to wait. Made us appreciate it more. Facts
Yeah the 90s was fun, but as an adult, I've loving the world of youtube and having instant classics at the click of a button. But a part of me does feel good when I think of the 90s.
Same....I'll be 51 this year and it's thanks to The Box we were able to see and hear great music from the Stateside. Such a shame we caught the back end of NWA though.
The Beastie Boys blew Cypress Hill away in 1991 and 1992. Plus they play their own instruments so they are more accomplished musicians. After listening to this song...Beastie Boy Member Mike D. said hold my Beer while he put on the song Sabotage all while playing his guitar.
This song has become my mantra. I use it when I'm tired and I need to pay attention to kids and my dog. I know it's not very gangster but it's better to be aware when siblings are getting ready to fight, or little boys coming up with crazy ideas (like using a bed sheet as a parachute to jump off the roof). Sometimes dogs at the dog park set each other off. I got to be ready to take my dog out of the situation. I was in high school when this song came out and now I'm in my 40's. It's funny how your world view changes with age. Now I can see how that lyric can be used in so many different ways.
This song is one of the songs that made me a cypress hill/ B real fan. It's never sounded so important. Big up the Cyress hill team. May the FATHER guide and bless us.
I had this recorded on a vhs with other videos that I would play while getting ready for school… feeling blessed for growing up in the 90s. My kids listen to this with me now.
Please bring the 90s back! 😀The memories when this Masterpiece of a song was released. The Entire Black Sunday album was and Will forever be FIRE!!!!!!!!! ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember cruising with my friend in Romania listen to Black Sunday in 90's, Cypress Hill was going hard worldwide. I opened my eyes and soul for HH in 93' and I'm still cruising with 90's hits since then..
First live show was smoking grooves 98 in Montreal and cypress hill was one of the headliners. Crazy show I damn near worship these guys Muggs is the one who inspired me to buy my MPC
Beautiful beat and song probably the first one I've listened cypress hill needs more attention great talent and ye they should've played this on the Titanic fr
For people who are complaining about why this video is censored (I assume most of you are younger): Back in 1993 when this song came out, they used to show music videos on TV, most often during the day. They couldn't play unedited songs on-air because censorship laws and standards were different at the time. Now, people curse on TV and show nudity and everything at various times during the day, and I don't think music videos are aired at all on TV. Anyway, they had to edit this track in order for it to be played on TV and the radio. It seems weird now because music videos are primarily an internet thing and standards have changed, but that's how it was for a long time.
I literally tell ppl this when they going through some bs lol “when the shit goes down you better be ready bruh 🤷🏽♂️” knowing damn after I say that this song plays in my head.
Bro, you'll never see this kind of shit anymore. The way they did this video and shit omg. That's talent even through to the videographer and such. Hip hop n rap these days ain't shit. Never will be shit
its sad but i agree, maybe 1 between 100 today could get close but not so close to the masters of 90's, autotune says a lot...well, i am already 46, so for me its done, i live the days, the unrepetible 90's and nobody can take me that away
Muggs said that they couldn't clear the sample with the original title so they changed shit to ship but never actually changed the word in the recording.
I'm just doing a check on everybody if you're here please just put a thumbs up you don't even have to comment I just want to make sure everybody's all accountant and present.
Possibly, one of the finest melodic hip hop tracks ever……….. timeless !!

I first heard Cypress Hill in the computer game Kingpin and have been a fan ever since.
I’ve wanted to replay that game for years.
Well this is the censored version, it was “when the shit goes down” in the original, but I guess they could still play it on the Titanic lol.

When they say Ship it doesn't sound like Ship, that's the genius of the track!
Muggs said that they couldn't clear the sample with the original title so they changed shit to ship but never actually changed the word in the recording.
The first version I ever heard (Napster/limewire downloads) he clearly did not say ship lol

@@georgewashington9173, do they look like a bunch of leftists, who "support the current thing"? Don't think so.
It's his govt that's in Russia. Not necessarily he himself or other common citizens. I think Cypress Hill would understand the difference.
