I respect the honesty in this video : You don't make it out to be that you're a superhuman productive beast, but instead you make it clear that you get a substantial amount of work done as you should during university but there are different aspects of your day to day life to enjoy. looks pretty spicy 😳😳 thinking of applying here for medicine. A bunch of unis have notices on their websites saying you don't have to have work experience to apply (since its impossible to get rn because of quarantine) but UCL hasnt said anything 😂 stressing out over that

Awesome video! Are the students at UCL pretty friendly? I'm from the US and looking to study abroad in the UK for a semester in the future.
UCL is too big to generalise (40,000 students), but with that begin said; you'll definitely find you clique due to the diversity of students. A lot of people from the U.S. here

Emily Savoury college hall is probably one of the best halls, the rooms are a lot bigger than the others and the location is perfect 👌

I have to say, my experience at UCL was very different. I did my MSc at UCL and for me it was nothing like that, I had to get up at 5.45 every morning and skate into uni so I could start working at Gordon's café at 6.30, finish in time to get to class or the lab by 10, between 10 and 5 I would be in class/the library/the lab and then 5-6 I'd go back to the café to help close up...For me studying at UCL was hard but very rewarding. It's funny how different people's experiences can be! What you showed here is definitely a realistic day for some but an unattainable ideal for others, Very interesting!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Can’t imagine waking up at 5:45am everyday and balancing work with university, huge props for that. Definitely very privileged that I didn’t need to work, but trying to make the best out of it regardless 👌
Hey, I just wanted to know, is it possible for people to be allowed to transfer to a different t course. I assume ure in your 3rd yr or maybe even finished ur degree and was wondering if u have ever witnessed ppl transfer to different courses within the university e.g I have my deferred place to study geography next yr but have met the requirements for another degree which I’m more interested in but had never seen before (bio processing of new medicines business management) do u think this is possible and if so how.

I’m from Spain and just got an offer from ucl. Do you know how is it for students from other countries like Spain? (Btw great video!)
UCL is a really international university with over 40k students, and tons of students from EU countries so you’ll definitely be able to mingle around and fit in. Do consider joining different Spanish speaking societies as well if you want to get familiar with the people there 💪

Hey Rhyme Luk, currently in year 12 and i'm studying Chemistry, biology and psychology at A level. With this said, on a personal level would you reccomend UCL? I was also wondering how taxing/expensive it is to live near UCL and afford food in London?
Hey there, as a general recommendation yes. While UCL is one of the top unis worldwide, it depends on what subject you’re studying (e.g. medicine or architecture in UCL is well known) ^ the university is a city uni so there’s less of a community compared to Warwick for example, so think about what sort of lifestyle you want.
As a rule of thumb, it is expensive in London but you can always budget if needed ^ expect accommodation to be around £200-300 and maybe spend £7-10 per meal 🥘 feel free to reach me via Instagram if you have any other questions!

ur in y7 and ur already looking at this, major respect
pattern ur GCSEs because when applying for uni, they look at your predicted A levels and obtained GCSE grades, also do virtual work experience near Y11/12

Ramesh Lakhani For sure, it ranked 8th last year and 10th this year. But it’s a huge university so the course you study is what makes the difference

Arianna Jater Congrats! I would definitely recommend staying in a UCL accommodation the first year (UoL halls) as you can meet a lot of new people that can help you settle in. It’s also a lot cheaper in terms of price, maybe by almost half the price

hey! I just wanted to know how hard would it be at UCL to balance a part time job and studies?
Personally I haven’t tried, but have quite a few friends who did fine balancing it; honestly depends how intensive your course is, and how much you prioritize socializing and society/outside uni activities

Hey Ratih, you can choose whichever one you want! Although it is recommended to stay in a university-managed accommodation to meet other new students

Hey, I am going to study Management Science at UCL in September. I have two concerns. First, I love mathematics but not engineering, is the course very based on that? And second, for someone living in Spain, do you think is moving to London will be a shock? Thank you, cheers!
Hey Guilherme, welcome to Management Science! Regarding your first concern, don't worry, there is little if any proper engineering material ^ Mostly it'd be applied mathematics for matrices, probability, limit theorems, and whatnot.
Also, the transition should be fine so don't worry (although it depends more on the individual than the culture), there are quite a few Spanish people on the course and they've adapted well. Feel free to reach out via Instagram if you have any other questions!

Shkodran Mustafi props to thinking about uni subjects so early, I didn’t really think about it till uni deadlines hit ^ and for mansci, the subject combination doesn’t really matter, but it’s quite math intensive so def take maths.
Mansci cares more about your interest in being data driven and entrepreneurial spirit, so demonstrate that in your personal statement

The large majority of students are international students at UCL, so it's pretty friendly dw ^ You can also definitely find a part-time job, but it'll limit the number of hours you can work per week on a T4 student visa

I can't choooooossee?¿¡¡! I got unconditional offers from both Cambridge (for architecture) and from UCL ( for engineering and architectural design) I dON't wAnT reGreTS. I live in london so I'll be staying at home if I pick UCL and the course is more refreshing and attractive to industry. BUt cAmbRidgE is StiLl cAmbriDgE and the name alone is enough to attract employers after graduation. 😖
sajda hamad ahh that’s a tough one ☝️ I’d say go for the one you won’t regret, in the end of the day your uni name gets you through the first door but often ego blinds which uni you choose. I’d say it’s more of the connections and friendships you build along the way which lead to success

No scholarship, and the costs differ depending on the course and whether you’re a local or international student. You can expect international fees to be around £20-30k

Hey can we get more information about scape. I assume that you are staying at scape Bloomsbury because it’s the closest to ucl. I chose ucl as my firm choice but the problem is that my sister is staying at scape Shoreditch and she already visited space Bloomsbury and told me that the student life is that great there. I wanted to know your opinion and experience living there. Thanks :)
Maysa Saad Hey Maysa, Scape itself is nice. There’s a spacious common room, the people aren’t loud for the most part, although I’d say there’s next to no socializing compared to university halls ^ the place isn’t big and is really expensive for its size, but I guess you’re paying for the privacy and proximity to campus. Oh and the staff are friendly and if you have a problem they’ll attend to it quickly 👌 on a final note, there’s quite a few food choices around and a big Waitrose
