    Thank you so much for this video! At the very end you answered my question about being able to still edit the blog post content in Elementor even after you apply a single post custom template. Showing that the sidebar and metadata fields were grayed out and that you could only edit the content section was really helpful.

    Great video! Thanks so much. My question is once you've created the template, how do you get the post to actually display on the site? Thanks!

    Thank you!!!!! I also discovered that I was messing up by not applying my template with any conditions. I was manually adding the widget to post pages, which I think caused a loop because the post-content widget was trying to render itself in the live site. You saved my butt!

    Thank you for such a useful tutorial. Parts of Elementor are not very intuitive when you've been used to a different page builder (such as Thrive Architect), so this really helped. Blessings to you in abundance.

    A couple questions:
    1. Sorry, one more question. I tried to take my left column to full width but it doesn't shift my right column down. I can mess with the content width of the container, but that just squeezes the right column out, not move it down. If I move the right column down manually, it changes the whole layout on the desktop. Is there a setting or step I've missed here?
    2. How did you add pagination? I'm searching and having trouble finding a widget or setting within a widget, for this. Thank you! This was very helpful.

    Hi! If I want to replace the "featured image" and instead display a "TH-cam video" how do I do that? The video in this case is the first url link in my post.
    How do I dynamically display that video in a specific section on the single post template?
    Great tutorial!

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! That will require you to setup a custom field using something like ACF. We have a beginners tutorial on how to add ACF fields to Elementor here: th-cam.com/video/ne1I8MJF11s/w-d-xo.html

    I'm a little late to this party. I followed your tutorial and created a single post template exactly as you did. Even though I set conditions to single post- singular, it applied to every page on my site. My homepage, contact page, etc...I can not get it to only apply to my blog posts. It is showing up in my theme builder rather than as a saved template even though I went to templates- add new. I am guessing it has something to do with the preset/defaults in my astra theme?

    Hey! I want to have multiple pages on my website. All with the same layout but different pictures and text. And I want to have the pages all update if I edit the template (font etc)
    Is this possible?
    I made a page template, but when I edit the template it won't sync to the old pages I made.
    Can you help? 🙏 😊

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want different images and text on every page, then you wouldn't want to use a template. Just create individual pages in Elementor.

    when I open a new page or post in Elementor my page is completely blank. HOW did you get Elementor to show the header and footer when you opened a new page in Elementor please? [3:25] The way I do it at the moment is I have created a page template, but i have to insert that template manually in the edit page of elementor.

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like your header and footer isn't assigned to all pages. You can change this by clicking on display conditions in the templates.

    HI! Can i add images or content boxes within the content in elementor? For example, I want to add a CTA widget a few paragraphs into the post, however I designed the CTA widget in elementor not wordpress and I am not sure how to get it in the middle of the content. Thank you!

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd have to edit your post with the Elementor editor in order to do this.

      It doesn't allow me to put elements within "post content" widget when i do this. I can only put the cta above or below it , and I would like it in the middle of the post content. Do you know how i can achieve this?

    Probably a stupid question, but if I now regret the new template, what do I do to get back to the old (original) one?

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try to check your revisions under History. Click the History icon on the bottom left corner and click on Revisions at the top. If your server has revisions enabled you can revert back to an older version.

    • @WickyDesign

      This sounds like a caching problem. Try to clear your browser and server cache and see if that helps.

    So, do we write the actual blog posts in the WordPress, using the formatting tools there like Header numbers and type formatting, etc? Not use the elementor Pro elements? But then the WP formatting gets pulled into the single blog post template by default?

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I recommend using the WordPress editor when creating your blog posts. The post content will be imported into the Elementor Post Template. You can still use Elementor on Posts if you need something advanced with an Elementor widget that the WordPress editor can't handle.

  • @dyerandadria

    GAH! I Still can't find a single video that shows how to EDIT THE TEMPLATE after it's been created. I had high hopes you would show me. I don't want to re-do a new template, i just want to edit the existing one and have it change all my posts. HELP!

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you view your posts on the frontend as an admin, you can hover over the button on the top menu "Edit with Elementor" and it will show you the single post template that the page is using. You can click that and it will bring you to the template to edit.

    What my problem is is after having a template created then how do you use it to create a new post. I had a designer set up my site and now I can’t reach him and I am trying to use a post template he created but I just don’t know how to engage it and make the proper edits/adjustments for each different post.

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you're needing to set the display conditions. Here is documentation from Elementor on how to do that. elementor.com/help/conditions/

    How do you create a template for multiple blog posts. I.e. on your website you make a post about a movie review but also on your website you make a post about local restaurants (completely random ideas btw) but want different looks for both types?
    I've tried using Pods plugin, Custom Post Type plugin, but when you click on the dynamic option when building in elementor pro, it doesn't seem to pull down the information. Would love your help!

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can assign templates to specific blog categories. Make different templates for each category and assign them in your display settings. Just make sure you put your blog posts in the right category before publishing.

    Hello I successfully set the conditions for the single post template and yet a new post entry hasn´t triggered it, and when I try to import the template from editing the post within elementor it makes a mess :(

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This sounds like it might be a server caching problem. Try to clear your server cache to see if the new post entry has been triggered.
