This festival blew us away! Is there an epic festival in your country that more people should know about?

Nicole!! So cool you dove right on in there to dance!! Awesome to see! Seriously how cool that you took the opportunity. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed our beloved Hayastan!
And thank you, thank you SO MUCH for offering a tribute to the memory of the Genocide. It’s astounding how many people have no idea. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you so much for watching our videos. To be honest when we reflect on our travels in Armenia, we think the Gata festival was incredibly fun but learning about the genocide was equally as memorable. We had no idea and we hope by putting this in our video, we can educate more people about the struggles many Armenians faced and also continue to grapple with today. It's such a dark part of human history but it's very important to talk about. We are glad you enjoyed it and our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend in Armenia so that we can show people how great this country is. We will certainly come back one day! So many more things to see (Gyumri, Tatev, etc)

@@nicoleandmico First…. Sorry for the prolific amount of writing to you. We just binged your videos and you were so personable it almost felt like a casual conversation.
It’s embarrassing to say but in the years we’ve been coming to Armenia, what we never saw was Gyumri; until this last visit. And in September 2022 we’re coming back to Gyumri … and other places too of course.
Gyumri is an entirely different experience from
Yerevan. Much of Armenia is worn down. Parts of Yerevan and Armenia in general are modern but much is just Soviet era and worn down. So many fled during the 1990s war with Azerbaijan and the struggles with simple things like keeping the electricity on after the separation from the USSR. The remains have just collapsed. But Armenia is working her way back.
BUT Gyumri is a wholly different thing. The streets and sidewalks are clean. There aren’t a baJillion (that’s a number, right??) cars parked on top of each other. The traditional tuf stone (volcanic) architecture is both retained and maintained well. It’s the cultural capital of Armenia. There are pedestrian only streets. Theaters, puppet theaters, museums like Starbucks here in California; everywhere.
I’ll get you the name of the place but there is a quite nice coffee and pastry cafe that’s right off the city center (same theme-ish as Republic Square). The coffee sandwiches and pastry are super good BUT (drum roll) the place is entirely staffed by special needs employees; and they’re GREAT!! The sweetest experience and the quality is spot on!
Tatev… as you know it’s pretty incredible. The Wings of Tatev is OMGOSH so freaking cool! The longest returning arial cable tram in the world. At one point it’s 1,000ft above the valley floor that just drops away as you pass over a particular Crestline/cliff. But a warning… the drive there is L-O-N-G

Thank you so much for commenting and letting us know. We are so glad you enjoyed the videos and we will be sure to keep producing. That is sad to hear about the continuous struggles of many Armenians, we sincerely hope that the country can recover from its past. It's so beautiful and there's still so much to see.
We love what you said about Gyurmi and Tatev and you are getting us excited to come back one day! Cultural capital? Awesome! A Cafe that's inclusive? Amazing! This is our kind of city and it sounds so different than Yerevan already. Also the wings of Tatev are definitely on our must see list when we return! We'll have to grab a rental car for way more than 2 days though so we could see it all 😅
Thanks again for your comment and we're glad you enjoyed. Armenia was so lovely and we firmly believe that it's a country that should not be underestimated! 😊❤

Fabulous!!! What an absolutely beautiful video!!! Armenians are joyful party animals and know how to be great hosts. The ending scenery was breathtaking, i am always reminded of what a gorgeous country she is. If you haven’t gone yet, you can also try Amberd, a relic of an ancient fortress “in the sky.” In the springtime, there were fields of poppies, wild ponies and embracing cloud clusters. Safe travels. 🦌🦌
