This game's music, along with most of Hudson's other music on the PC Engine, is a testament to the staying power of the wavetables of Namco's arcade games.
This game has some amazing music! A lot of the tracks from Super Bomberman 3 are taken from this game & SBM 1, while others (like Winterland) are taken from Bomberman '93. I'll list the ones I know. (Please note that "SBM" is referring to the Super Bomberman games). Super Bomberman 1 also uses some TG-16 Bomberman tracks which were then later used in SBM 3. Title Screen - Used in SBM 1. Player Out - Used in SBM 3 (Super Bomberman 5 uses a similar version, but it sounds pretty different to SBM 3 & TG-16 Bomberman.) Stage Start - Used in SBM 3, 4 & 5 (and maybe a ton of others.) BGM 1 - Used for... quite a lot of games (and I mean just Bomberman games in general) BGM 2 - Used for Area 2 (TG-16 BM, SBM 1 & SBM 3). This version sounds closer to SBM 1. BGM 3 - Similar case to BGM 2. It's used for Area 3 in this game, SBM 1 and SBM 3. BGM Invincibility - Self-explanatory. Is also used for the Final Area in Super Bomberman 3. Unused BGM 1 - Boss theme in SBM 3 & 4. Unused BGM 2 - Final Boss theme in SBM 3 & major bosses in SBM 4. Unused BGM 3 - I think this was a remix for the title screen in NES Bomberman? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) Stage Clear - Used in SBM 3, 4 & 5 (3 & 4 are EXACTLY the same, while 5's is an arranged version). Staff Roll - Is used for the Ending Demo in SBM 3. VS Competition - Was used for bonus stages in SBM 4, and it *might* have been used in SBM 3. (I'm not entirely sure, but I think this was also used somewhere in SBM 1? I'm probably wrong.) VS Victory - Is used in SBM 5 after you beat the final boss and clear the game. VS Championship - Used in SBM 3 & 5 (& maybe 2?). It serves the same purpose as it does in this game. VS Draw - Used in SBM 3 & 4 (Is technically used in 5 as well, but it sounds *very* different). Interestingly, I looked at this game on The Cutting Room Floor, and it says there are actually 2 MORE unused themes, which would make 5 in total. A slower Game Over theme, and a different death ("Player Out") theme.
