This group should have exploded more on the music landscape of Greatness. The writing is exceptional this singer is dynamic passionate the stuff still sounds brand new and I've been listening to it for 20 years.

I'm 72 & can only listen to this while stuck in traffic or barreling along. Then an incredible feeling comes over me. It's joyfully maddening. Yes, I've been living in a state of chronic discontent. Thanks, Concrete Blond for turning it into rock & roll masterpiece!

I published five books over 13 years, after hearing one line in this song. Yes, we're "in a world of chronic discontent." But we can use that to save ourselves. We can use it to force change or seek the better. Some of our efforts will backfire. What is success, without risk? Thank you Johnette and Concrete Blonde for the years of music that got me through college and a terrible drunken decade, and then inspired all my literary efforts. That one line! When I heard it, everything clicked. Five books, 300,000 words later, and the vision remains the same: We take the world we have and try to make it the world we want. Dysthemia is our friend.

They told us about LA life in the 80s and followed up in the 90s with this.
Streetwise and lyrically adept was Johnette and the Blonde got the message across.

Drifted away from music/bands over the years, now playing catch up. Keeping me going. Checking out what the bands l have been into have produced. Love CB & Violent. Played track over a dozen times in a row. I'm totally hooked! The beat, melody, riffs. The vocals(delivery, style message). A very big thankyou CB. Keep rocking on! You are needed! Music soothes the soul& thos who are it's beneficiaries. Much love & appreciation

Concrete Blonde has always been more about Mr. Mankey than anything. Absolutely one of the most underrated stringslingers in the business.

CrucifyRobinHood I agree but the problem was we could not take our eyes and ears off of Johnette.

Yeah, and the crazy thing is Harry is the least talented of the 3.

@@crucifyrobinhoodHarry had left the band after their second album, he's not playing here.
edit - Color me embarrassed, I just searched and it seems ... Harry Rushakoff returned for the "Group Therapy" album according to the credits. Oops.

From their 2002 comeback album Group Therapy. The track "Violent" starts off strong but I feel the band could have edited the track. Clocking in at nearly 7 minutes, it feels redundant after about 3-4 minutes and loses the listener a bit. Just my opinion....regardless, it was still an excellent effort.
