I did mine last year July 2020, 64 pages and 10years validity. I will always advise anyone to go for the 10years one. Imagine not having any business with Nigeria Immigration for 10years. Lol.

It is still difficult to get Nigerian passport in the USA. Go to Atlanta Embassy and see people were sitting down on the floor yesterday. Just yesterday and they were charging them $360

I thought you need to apply for either 32 pages #45,000 and 64 pages is #65,000. Cos I applied for 32 pages when I was in 9ja last year. I was unable to get its before leaving 9ja

I just love how we can travel back to naija as long as you are a Nigerian citizen wether you have a Nigerian passport or a foreign passport without a visa.
Yes my brother, it should have been that way for a very long.As a Nigeria citizen u shouldn’t have to apply for a visa just to visit your fathers land.As for the new passport am not really interested because Nigeria have a lots of issues to tackle like herdsmen,bad roads,lack of electricity,insecurity etc. New passport will not solve any of those issues that the country is facing
Thank God that we won’t have to go through the horror of renewing passport for another 10 years. The problem is that my picture in that passport look like a mugshot after all their shenanigans at their office during the picture taken. Now I have to carry that mugshot around for 10 years 😭

The inside is great. I think the exterior colour should be changed. My suggestion would be semi-light bright red with a dash of pink. Semi-light bright red with a dash of pink would be suitable for Nigeria being the giant of Africa.
Not that issuance of NIN is decentralised there isn't any good reason why one shouldn't be issued NIN at the point of passport renewal. It's same biometric
It’s not new and i know someone who got it done back in October 2019 and it was 5years one and not 10years, and it was done in ikoyi Lagos, the thing there is that, you’ll never get the new one if you don’t have NIN, but if you have NIN, automatically you’ll get the new passport when renewing or doing it for the first time, cos the new one has got a space for NIN and if you haven’t got NIN, they wouldn’t print new passport for you cos they can’t leave the space empty so all what they need is your NIN or BVN and all your details will come up on the system.

Hi Sassy Funke! Pls real quick, got NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD far back in 2014 @StateHouse Clinic when I did my NYSC. The National Identity Card was then issued by (NIMC), with expiration date August 2019. Left Nigeria after the National service and my confusion now is about this NIN for passport renewal...is this same with the one I got with expired Identity card (2019) or there was another new one by the same NIMC? I got my expired ID card with all info including “Document Number” is that same as NIN? Thanks in anticipation
It's the same number as long as it was given to you by NIMC. I did my NIN in 2012 and I still have the old laminated paper. I don't have the card yet.🤣

They are doing this just because they don't want Nigeria to depart, a time is coming when you would want to travel back to your country and this your passport will be rejected, that is when you will realise that no more Nigeria go ahead and get 10 years passport and let keep watching the next move i just dey pity una
Where was this? They are still giving out old passports booklets that are left I believe but if you make it clear you want the new one, they will (however it may take time)
You don't automatically get a Nigerian passport just because you are married to a Nigerian. You have to apply for Nigerian permanent residency first and reside in Nigeria for several years before you will qualify for Nigerian citizenship. Same way a foreigner married to an American will not automatically qualify for American citizenship until they have applied for American permanent residency and lived in America for a specified number of years before putting in an application for United States citizenship. You can't apply for citizenship for a foreign country you don't reside in.
You can actually travel to Nigeria with an expired passport. Get a letter from the embassy stating due to covid, hence the delay in processing. You going to your home country anyway..😊✌
My Naija passport expired august 2020, I traveled to Naija with it using United Airlines + Lufthansa in December 2020. they (United staffs) took a note at IAD when leaving... that’s it! No letter, no emergency travel certificate... absolutely nothing! The only problem I had is when I was ready for immigration at Muritala airport - “to stamp my arrival” on it, after soooo many stories and strong head, I went home... I did nothing and did not even “donate” ... 🤪 Although, I eventually renewed in Abuja within my short period of stay. The only sad part is to forgo my $110 paid for the renewal in DC... I can’t blame them because of covid... besides, I got an appointment date, just that I was already in Naija on the day I was requested to show up for capture.
When applying, you state the number of years the passport should be valid for. I.e 5years or 10years. Its a requirement stated on the form whilst filling it
Does it mean that the so call Nigeria will be a better country for citizens, did it going to be a country that people around the world would like to come and invest and proud of, because ten years passport without fixing The country and grate jobs opportunitie for youths, ten years passport doesn't make sense.
I just renewed my Nigerian passport and got a new one issued on October 15, 2021 in New York. It is valid for 5 years. In the New York Embassy they dont give the option of the 10 year passport. I have promised myself never to visit the Nigerian Embassy in New York again for the rest of my life. It is a Nigerian nightmare
@@SassyFunke I had to be in Lagos for November 2021. I filled out my passport application in August 2021 and paid online by credit card. There was no available date for Embassy interview until February 2022. The message advised that I walk in to the Consulate if I needed an earlier date for interview. I walked in on a Monday in August and they made me pay another $130 because I came to the Consulate without appointment. Plus they said the $130 would expedite my passport issuance date. My passport issuance was expedited to November 2021. I begged and pleaded but it was like talking to a wall. They told me the delay came from Abuja. Thank God that I eventually received my passport in October through the help of my church member who happened to work at the Nigerian Embassy. She brought my passport to me at the church lolol. I will never go to the New York Embassy again. It is a horrible place. Sassy.... thank you soooo much for all your tips... you are the best ... we love you

Why on earth do we need a NIN on a passport? Let me remind those of you vomiting rubbish here, if you are a Nigerian , without naija passport , you are nothing outside Nigeria. whether u like it or not. Even before you are given visa, resident permit, or even any nationality, you must first identify yourself with a Nigerian passport.
My passport expired since June 2020 and I have registered and paid 110 dollars here in Qatar but waiting forever to be captured.it seems am likely to travel for its renewal.
I applied on the 4th Dec 2020 and i got it on the 12th Dec 2020 but mine was 32 pages. I don't know how many pages is yours and how you went about it because that 110 USD it would be around 50k in today's market which is a little bit too much.if it is 32 pages

You can't renew your passport without NIN. There are registration centres in UK 🇬🇧.

Yes, u can request to do so, since u haven't been captured. But, 5yrs and 10yrs passport fees are different.

Nigerian passport doesn’t hold the same clot as a British or American passport in index terms. However, great quality though.

The inside is great. I think the exterior colour should be changed. My suggestion would be semi-light bright red with a dash of pink. Semi-light bright red with a dash of pink would be suitable for Nigeria being the giant of Africa.

They will have to issue you a NIN unless they plan to give you the old passport. You can apply for NIN in the diaspora. I'll do a video on that soon

Not that issuance of NIN is decentralised there isn't any good reason why one shouldn't be issued NIN at the point of passport renewal. It's same biometric
It’s not new and i know someone who got it done back in October 2019 and it was 5years one and not 10years, and it was done in ikoyi Lagos, the thing there is that, you’ll never get the new one if you don’t have NIN, but if you have NIN, automatically you’ll get the new passport when renewing or doing it for the first time, cos the new one has got a space for NIN and if you haven’t got NIN, they wouldn’t print new passport for you cos they can’t leave the space empty so all what they need is your NIN or BVN and all your details will come up on the system.

Hi Sassy Funke! Pls real quick, got NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD far back in 2014 @StateHouse Clinic when I did my NYSC. The National Identity Card was then issued by (NIMC), with expiration date August 2019. Left Nigeria after the National service and my confusion now is about this NIN for passport renewal...is this same with the one I got with expired Identity card (2019) or there was another new one by the same NIMC? I got my expired ID card with all info including “Document Number” is that same as NIN? Thanks in anticipation
It's the same number as long as it was given to you by NIMC. I did my NIN in 2012 and I still have the old laminated paper. I don't have the card yet.🤣

I can't go to another European country with a Nigerian embassy due to lockdown measures flight restrictions. Please advise. My current Nigerian passport may have a year or two before it expires. This ten year passport should have been issued years ago. All they had to do was double the price of the five year one but certain people desired money over helping their people. I can travel with a visa in my UK one instead if the process is still extremely long winded. I know would be very expensive indeed though especially for multiple entry. I hope this decade Naija passport is easily accessible for all people with Nigerian bloodline irrespective of global location*

Where was this? They are still giving out old passports booklets that are left I believe but if you make it clear you want the new one, they will (however it may take time)

How do an American apply for an Nigerian passport if there married to an Nigerian please answer
You don't automatically get a Nigerian passport just because you are married to a Nigerian. You have to apply for Nigerian permanent residency first and reside in Nigeria for several years before you will qualify for Nigerian citizenship. Same way a foreigner married to an American will not automatically qualify for American citizenship until they have applied for American permanent residency and lived in America for a specified number of years before putting in an application for United States citizenship. You can't apply for citizenship for a foreign country you don't reside in.

You can actually travel to Nigeria with an expired passport. Get a letter from the embassy stating due to covid, hence the delay in processing. You going to your home country anyway..😊✌

My Naija passport expired august 2020, I traveled to Naija with it using United Airlines + Lufthansa in December 2020. they (United staffs) took a note at IAD when leaving... that’s it! No letter, no emergency travel certificate... absolutely nothing! The only problem I had is when I was ready for immigration at Muritala airport - “to stamp my arrival” on it, after soooo many stories and strong head, I went home... I did nothing and did not even “donate” ... 🤪 Although, I eventually renewed in Abuja within my short period of stay.
The only sad part is to forgo my $110 paid for the renewal in DC... I can’t blame them because of covid... besides, I got an appointment date, just that I was already in Naija on the day I was requested to show up for capture.

When applying, you state the number of years the passport should be valid for. I.e 5years or 10years. Its a requirement stated on the form whilst filling it

I just renewed my Nigerian passport and got a new one issued on October 15, 2021 in New York. It is valid for 5 years. In the New York Embassy they dont give the option of the 10 year passport. I have promised myself never to visit the Nigerian Embassy in New York again for the rest of my life. It is a Nigerian nightmare

@@SassyFunke I had to be in Lagos for November 2021. I filled out my passport application in August 2021 and paid online by credit card. There was no available date for Embassy interview until February 2022. The message advised that I walk in to the Consulate if I needed an earlier date for interview. I walked in on a Monday in August and they made me pay another $130 because I came to the Consulate without appointment. Plus they said the $130 would expedite my passport issuance date. My passport issuance was expedited to November 2021. I begged and pleaded but it was like talking to a wall. They told me the delay came from Abuja. Thank God that I eventually received my passport in October through the help of my church member who happened to work at the Nigerian Embassy. She brought my passport to me at the church lolol. I will never go to the New York Embassy again. It is a horrible place.

Why on earth do we need a NIN on a passport? Just to make life difficult for people especially those of us abroad as if to get a passport in one of the embassy's is not difficult enough, err I tire o. So for us that don't have NIN we have to go in search of NIN before we can renew our passport. This government just like to frustrate people sha. Nawa one good equals 100 bad intentions. My passport expired since June 2020 and I have registered and paid 110 dollars here in Qatar but waiting forever to be captured.it seems am likely to travel for its renewal.
I think the pandemic has slowed everything down...
I applied on the 4th Dec 2020 and i got it on the 12th Dec 2020 but mine was 32 pages. I don't know how many pages is yours and how you went about it because that 110 USD it would be around 50k in today's market which is a little bit too much.if it is 32 pages
