The reason that monks didn't convert missionaries is monks civilization is set to Indians and Indians can't upgrade atonement. So those monks are just sitting ducks on missionaries' conversion. And I think this experiment should be retested with civilization which all upgrades of monastery is available.
it would be cool if somehow you could set your own players AI preference to ignore converted units and stick to the task you last gave them (attack move to monks for example)

If you take the example of the war elephants, sure they convert the first one but the problem is that the herd stops moving towards the monks and they attack the blue elephant. Having continue to charge the monks, they would have obliterate them and losing mayber 3 or 4 units top. That would be interesting to know if there is something to fix that, a script, a difficulty level, a patch, etc.
In aoe 1st edition rise of rome if u select 2 priest to convert one unit...the unit freezes..lol...i have used that trick to convert so many chariots!!
Really only difference here is that monks are micored and other unitsd are potatoed into conversion :D There´s no possible way that monk convert all those mangudai in real scenario :D It just cant happen., they die like flies... And if they covert 3, who really cares... Also odd how those teutonic knights got that qickly converted :D
If there would be literally any micro involved against these monks, they would lose most of that :D I believe they can convert charging elephnats or kataphracts but no way you can get all longbowmen. You would be lucky to convert 2 if you are micro god :D
