Today we’re comparing two portable outdoor bluetooth speakers from Soundcore, the Motion Boom and the Motion Boom Plus. Both feature Titanium drivers, Bass Up technology for deep bass, in-App customisable EQ, and a rugged design that is also waterproof with hours of battery life - to go wherever you go! These speakers have a lot in common but there are also some key differences that you’ll want to consider, especially when it comes to sound. So which speaker is best for who? Time and time again, Soundcore prove to offer great value products, in terms of performance, features and price. And my experience with the Motion Boom and Motion Boom Plus, is no different. There are two impressive sounding speakers, with great features and a fit for purpose design! Yes the Motion Boom Plus sounds best, but this speaker is also in a different price range compared to the Motion Boom and is not as portable. When it comes deciding which is best for you, I’d base this on how and where you plan to use the speaker. If you are someone who wants portability, a speaker that is easy to travel with and carry in bag, to use on the beach, for a hike or in a bedroom or hotel room - for $100, the Motion Boom is an excellent option. Whereas if you can spend a bit more, and want truly impressive rich sound quality and are hosting a parties or BBQs outdoors with 5, 10 plus people, or have a large indoor space to fill, nothing beats the shear volume and fantastic sound quality that only the Motion Boom Plus provides - also having that AUX port opens it up to even more use cases as a great all-round speaker. Which would I go for? As someone who prioritises sound quality and for my use case, to have in my GYM, to take along for long hikes and to use as a main speaker in my living room when I’m not out, the Motion Boom Plus is the one I’m going for!

I'd choose the small one for the full day battery and portability plus am not a person that really wants to make a big impression everywhere I go

I own the boom plus and i can not get pass the 30 to 40 volume area cause its too loud in my room. With the customizable equalizer this thing is a beast.

You can’t connect the boom+ with the boom unfortunately. I bought both and tried. Doesn’t work, it even says it on the website.

So i literally just got this delivered today. Connected it to my MSI RAIDER GE76 and adjusted the sound through the stealseries sonar program and i must say this is amazing straight out the box. I listen to a variety of music and right now i'm playing SOCA music (look it up for my non-Caribbean people) in my office room and this is loud and you can actually hear the bass clearly with bass up. Bought it through Amazon for $79 dollars and got it delivered the same day with qualifying items
The smaller one puts out a lot of sounds the bigger one puts out a lot more sound but the smaller one is plenty way more powerful than most speakers I've heard all you will need is the smaller one unless there's tons of background noise
I have the motion boom and it outperforms a much bigger monster speaker in every way. It's hard to believe that a speaker that small can have better bass and sound than a speaker almost twice the size.soundcore has some of the best equipment, just bought a pair of the life q20+ and they are awesome as well. I ordered the motion boom+ yesterday and if it isn't way better than the boom I'm sending it back. It's going to be hard to beat the original boom.

@@Beachn2407 it's good, I just got the boom plus and it's more bass. I've been into car stereo my entire life, the entire soundcore stuff is top notch. You have to use the app but I've tried an app with other speakers and they don't go as hard

Soundcore X600 has too clear sibilant highs and too little bass/thump. A side-by-side comparison tilted the favor to the Soundcore motion boom plus for my wife, my two sons (14&16) and myself. All completely individually.
We fiddled with the EQ on both to get the optimal sound signature out of both before comparison.
YMMV of course.
PS : I really wanted to like the Soundcore X600 over the Motion Plus because of form factor, size, material usage, high end audio and spatial. But unfortunately that just didn't happen.
Totally agree!!! I gave my MB+ to a friend and purchased the X600. Some songs on the latter speaker sounded incredible. But for the most part the majority of songs lacked bass and focused more on the mids and highs with very little bass as you stated. I missed the MB+. The sound quality of this gem of a speaker just can't be compared and I noticed whatever song I played on it shined beautifully. So the X600 is going back and I'm getting once again the MB+.
I have the SOUNDCORE MOTION BOOM and the SELECT PRO and I love them. I'm also going to purchase the NEW SOUNDCORE BOOM 2 that was just released a few weeks ago. As far as a BIG BLUETOOTH SPEAKER to take around I have my SKULLCANDY BARREL XT in fact I have 2 of them. I definitely love the SOUNDCORE MOTION BOOM PLUS and will be purchasing one as well. i have both. im a music guy. everywhere i go i play music even to the store. both are great. when it just a few friends around i will use the MB. (outside) but if its gonna be alot more people i use the MB+ cause more people mean more noise. both are great just depends on how your gonna use it. and if you hook 2 together the sound is incredible. clear sound no matter how loud u play it.
Have you been able to hook the motion to motion boom, smaller & bigger together?
I have the Boom+. Pretty good bass, but the treble sounds artificial and tinny. Even with equalization the treble is subpar.
As a consumer, I am curious how they define at relatively low volume: Does the Motion Boom have to be cranked up to deliver?
Hi, the Boom I found best at 50% and the Plus at 70%. Not too great differences though
I have a smaller one I work at a ski mountain 2 feet from a ski lift loading people the lift makes a lot of noise I could hear it over the lift just fine was blasting actually had to keep it down certain times
The soundcore motion boom will also let you connect to another soundcore speaker with the Bluetooth button.
How did you connect the two?
They advertise stereo pairing of 2 units, but are the individual units used on their own stereo or mono? If mono, why aren't they stereo? That speaker arrangement of 2 drivers and 2 tweeters looks like it could easily be made to run in stereo?

I have 2 motion plus ones,on one the sound drop out maybe twice a song tring to send it back to get another one,the 2nd one I just won from a prize from work hopefully that one works good I haven't paired them together yet,what's the best way to get tws?
I also bought the x600 not very impressive for the hype,motion boom plus sounds better than the x600.

What is the loudest speaker you have ever tested.
I need something loud, I work on top of a bridge and I need something louder then the traffic, wind and spray pumps.
I had the Wking & it wasn’t loud enough (50w). Plus the usbC broke 😠. So I’m looking for something louder.
I’m having trouble finding info on RMS/peak wattage.

Ordered the Motion Boom today for $79. Wanted to go for the Boom Plus but it’s hard to justify that ~$70 price difference. Hoping I don’t regret not going for the larger one.

Has anyone tested the sound quality of the Aux with a DAP like the AP80 Pro-X? Does it sound significantly better than just using bluetooth from a modern flagship cellphone? I know these bt speakers are tuned for bluetooth signal so I imagine I would have to do some EQing for Aux..
I just got the Motion Boom, installed the app, it was on Firmware 00.43, I'd say i'm blown away by the deep bass this little speaker produces, the highs & mids are not left out much, however i noticed something while playing music on both the soundcore signature mode & custom EQ mode, sibilance is observed on some tracks, low quality audios(mp3...), recorded voice notes(.amr)...kind of sound like old tapes/record, sibilant kinda, its not so bad to affect my listening experience generally but very 😠 what could possibly be the cause, is it the way the speaker was built or anything else???
I noticed same issue, its weird beacause it happens on certain tracks like guitar plus vocal sound, its hard to describe. Its not present on my pc speakers or even on my 30$ no name bt speaker. I was very impressed when i heard motion boom 1st time, but then i heard those weird noises, damn what a dissapointment. Im srsly thinking about returning it :(
@@Rhadaar I think it's the left and right speakers working against each other because they are both in the same sealed environment. If you push one of the passive radiators in you will see both speakers pop out. This means they aren't separated properly

@@DionMedia Depends a bit on your use case, but I'd actually prefer two MB's because of the nice stereo sound they can provide.
My suggestion is upgrade the motion boom with 5w double twitter for more balance sounds
The motion boom is great it needs tweeters than it would be awesome 5he boom plus is outstanding I use it at the pool club indoors for the gym water aerobics classes this speaker rocks fills it with sound easily.

It's unfortunate that the bass speakers at each end do not have a protective grill like the front speakers These speakers could be easily punctured.
They are not speakers, they are passive elements and are ALOT stronger than a speaker. They should not break accidentaly.
I'm carrying around a motion boom now, on mile almost on mile 8, Glad it's got a handle ha

My motion boom I got a week ago just goes off after about 10-15sec and the battery is full, what could be the problem. Would really appreciate a positive response

@@WAGMI_YT supper gluing it back together has basically fixed it I wouldn't worry about it I use mine every day so that effects it plus Mines always going in and out of different weather temperatures because I use them while walking/riding my bike to work and then using them at work

It's just sad it doesn't have a mSD card reader that could play thousands of sounds by it self without needing any other devices specially supporting most codecs including lossless, it's really a big missed opportunity cause sadly my phone battery just goes BOOM pretty fast 🤬

Boom plus better sound that boom? not so true... I have two booms in TWS and they sound wonderful. In your test the boom seems to give no high frequencies!! instead, I love its highs! very detailed for only one kind of full range speaker and the bass!! so deep that it seems to be out of physics... Boom plus has tweeters that offers you harsh highs, and the bass is not so deep...

I bought the boom for my daughter and tested it compared to ultimate ears megaboom that I already own. While the bass is good and volume is sufficient, I found the mids and highs to be less defined and hollow sounding. I returned it. I saw the boom plus was on sale at Amazon and gave it a shot. With a tweet from the equalizer, this was the ticket. Very good sounds across the spectrum with some limited compression dropouts. I’m a little pissed that they don’t include a charging block at this price and I wrote them to let them know.
