    Thank you for these videos about mean streak. Just purchased one few months ago and I'm not very good mechanic, so I wanted to give my motorcycle to dealership to take care of it.
    but now, thanks to your videos, I vill do those maintenances my self, so I'm waiting for more videos 😊

    Thanks for sharing this video, I have a 1600 Classic with 45k km on it I opted for the Progressive 412 replacement. I ride it as a bobber, they have worked out very well for me, far superior to the OEM shocks.

    Dan you do a great job thank you for your efforts. Additionally on my old mean streak did new fork seals and progressive springs. The steering hub had all ready been done.

      Thanks for the comments Richard. I was going to do progressive springs but the ones I ordered turned up wrong so I never got round to it.

    Going through the same shock replacemnt right now for my 2002 Mean Streak. However, unrelated, I'm more curious what you are using here to record your 2-up audio while riding. Thanks.

    Do these come in chrome? I experience the same with mine but I love the chrome look on the bike when the bags are off.

    Why did you go with heavy duty instead of regular? What size are the shocks? FYI I had a beautiful mean streak all modded out got really sick and sold it for a song. Now I’m starting over. Ever consider swing wing foot pegs?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Richard. I no longer have the meanstreak unfortunately I sold it last year. I went with heavy duty as this bike was 90% used for 2 up riding as well as that usually used for longer trips so we had luggage on there to. When I did ride solo though it was very harsh. Unsure on the shock size sorry. Have a look on progressive website they may list there. Never looked at those footpegs however I was very close to fitting floor board before I sold it.

    @My6091 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm sure it's a nice upgrade(as it should be for the price of those) but it looked like you had the load adjusters on the lowest setting on the original shocks?

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chip, I am not sure on that I never messed around with the stock shocks too much to be honest.

    I have a pair of almost new heavy duty 12 inch 444s for Indian Scout and I am tempted to install them on my mean streak 2005... They look absolutely identical to yours... wonder if it's a good idea?... Happy Riding..

      @@MOTODANS thank you! The concern is the standard vn1600 shocks are 13. 5", it's 1.5 " Loss of travel... Will ask progressive support and try it. Cheers

      Update. Checked with Progressive support. They said, "the spring looks like it would be similar, the damper is completely different for the valving as it is specific to the vehicle. The shock below would be the correct one for a mean streak. Part: 444 (CHR) CRZR 12": 444-4240C" HTH

    torque them down to 25 lbs, or check them regularly for tightness. I own 2 Mean Streaks, one set up for touring, one lowered, and hot rodded out. The greatest Kawasaki ever made, in my opinion. Vaquero's are nice too, but not in stock form (Boring!).

    • @MOTODANS
      @MOTODANS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only reason I went with the 444 was for ease of adjusting the preload but to be honest I never really touch it. I think I may have adjusted it twice since fitting them so for that I would probably just go with the 412
