The same company making the 410 BB kit is also producing a 500. But there's things about both kits that bother me heavily and after talking to my partnership... we both agree that it doesn't seem like a great idea for long term reliability.
Nice to see another video from you. We spoke a few months ago and at the end I bought a Meteor 350 in Supernova blue and pre ordered one in aurora green. I mounted the DNA filter and only the Decat with the original exhaust. In a week I already did 1000km with the bike and it is much better than I expected 🥳
That's awesome!, I would HIGHLY recommend installing a fuelx at some point soon. It'll run leaner than normal now and hotter so balancing that with the fuelx is pretty much a necessity for long term reliability
@@FoxParasyte yeah exactly I saw your video about it. In Oktober i will Switch it with the Aurora green and I will do that and maybe I will put the Classic 350 touring seat. I already bought Givi bags and top case to make long trips. This engine has so much character 🤌
Thanks for posting the decat pipe comment. I have only gotten the FuelX Lite. (Thanks for that video Foxxy!) But I have planned to keep the stock muffler and get a decat pipe. After the decat pipe, the DNA Stage 2 kit will be next.
Glad to see another installment to this series. Like the others, well done. Hitchcocks has terrific parts available. Have you ever checked out Baxter Cycles in Marne, Iowa? The carry parts from Hitchcocks under the Enfield Precision moniker. They carry a whole lot of stuff from a lot of companies outside the USA, plus RE parts. I picked up my RE TDC tools from them too, and the sipping from the Mid-West to the East Coast was quick too. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks!, Yes i've been kind of watching Baxter for some time now. They have a ton of all around. In the event I do grab myself a GT650, they'll be my go to shop for parts. They have every single part that I would want for that bike. My friends / partners, keep trying to get me on a Triumph Speed Twin but I just have more of a desire for a GT. Maybe I just like the quirkiness and obscurity of RE.
Hey everyone, just a few things. Hope you all are doing great! 1. I'm currently running a poll where people can help vote/decide on the next project bike series. I'm hoping the GT650 wins but you can help sway that by voting here. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxAJLF-AJmq-cCqkO15kuIF_I5StCkktst 2. I've never brought up my whole arthritis thing before this video. Only my handicap with my foot thanks to my PG disease. The arthritis i never really noticed affecting my riding until someone recently pointed it out (rather harshly). Not going to bring it up again at this point forward, don't feel it's necessary. 3. I MAY post a mini update video in regards to some of the other ideas i have in mind for the classic 350. Not for a PRE video, but just some offshoots here and there.
I'm undecided with the big bore kit. I don't really know if there is a point on the classic 350 because of that limiter. Now if was a Hunter I'd do the kit all day long
Second on Baxter Cycle as a Stateside resource. I got OEM oil filters from them back in the day when no one else had them in stock. Way faster to ship from Iowa than England!
I'm just braking in my classic and noticed after 200km the levers should be closer to the grips for comfort. I have all three seat variants and the touring seems to be the best in dampening holes in tarmac and risers. Because of this I wondered if the stock springs since they have been designed for india road use, would be desired more than springs made for better road surfaces. I live in the Netherlands where streets used to be very smooth but noticed more tarmac holes last years surfacing. Hyperpro seems to be an option as well and a very close base to visit for me but they cost quite a bit. I do like the hagon closed shocks quite a bit. I do notice the front forks are very soft. Not sure what to think about them. HOwever, I do realise a classic is not made to race and at low speeds shock upgrade might be overkill? I do like to have a comfortable bike and I like the stock engine for what it is. I fancy the big foot bars and consider the heel toe lever and a rev counter, ceramic coating and pannier bags. Not a big wishlist by all means. nice vid! thx Erik
I'm not convinced that the stock shocks are designed for with rough India roads in mind. I think it's more of a cost effective option with having a balance of comfort. They wouldn't put super high quality shocks on a bike like the J350 lineup, nor would they put absolute junk on the bikes either. I do love the Hagons, though i'm curious why other versions cost hundreds of dollars more. The front forks i can't honestly comment too much about. I've not had any real complaints with it, harsh front braking does cause the front to dive a little more than i would like. But is it worth upgrading? For my use, god no....... unless for whatever reason i was already in the process of rebuilding the forks. That would be the only reason i would change things. I definitely want the rev counter on the bike. That's on the bucket list for sure!
The stock levers are designed for people with hands like E.T ! This was the first modification i did with my hunter 350 ,when wearing winter gloves it always felt like a crap shoot if i could grab a handful of clutch and brake when needed !
Question. Did you work with the pre-load settings on the stock shocks? The new ones? I never see anyone mention that. In SoCal I like to think the ungodly amout of state taxes we pay are what keep the roads billiard table smooth but in reality it's most like the temperate weather. I found on the 3rd click the rear end came around nicely but I can see with your roads a different compression/rebound set up might come in handy. Just wondering. Also just ordered the Hunter throttle body to get rid of the speed limiter. Had you though of that? Keep the vids coming 👍
Yeah I've messed around with the preload on the stock. Shocks while some settings kind of helped. It's just not enough for these god-awful rows in the midwest. Also, I was told and this may or may not be true that the hunter 350s throttle body doesn't quite fit on a classic 350 so that is why I haven't dealt with that. But out of curiosity, at some point I plan on taking off the ABS fuse just to see how fast the bike can go. Or at least how fast I'm comfortable with riding this motorcycle
Not sure if you are aware in the uk the clutch lever is on the left and brake lever on right which might be why you had to ream the hole. Just a thought 😗

Hey Foxxy. I just saw that there is a Big Bore kit made by Himalayan Tools. Is this something you would consider installing in your bike, or does it seem dodgy to you
Looking for a solution for the ECU limiter, have you found any? Otherwise I may buy a Meteor 350 instead and swap the throttle since that one doesn't have the ecu limit on it.
@@allencross3599 make sure you do your research I've been told there's two completely different throttle bodies for the Hunter one that has the speed limiter locked and the other that's open but I don't remember which one is which
