Hi iam from germany so why is he saying 'Gesundheit' on 0:53? is it fun to say german words in the US is it an inside joke or is there no reason at all?
ok i try it one more time: i say gesundheit too when someone sneezes.. but why is JD (an american guy in an american tv show) using a german word (gesundheit)? is it normal? inside joke? funny...or no reason? i hope you get me now^^
well, to enlighten you after 11 years: quite common international word kinda. Bit similar to kindergarten. Sometimes german words find their way into other language, not just the other way around ;)
yeah i heared the sneeze... but my question was why he is saying the GERMAN word Gesundheit. funny, inside joke, no reason? btw this is a serious question
I know it’s been years I’m going to answer this anyway. Some people say it instead of bless you or god bless you. I don’t know why but in my experience it’s not incredibly uncommon
When JD and turk laugh it's so genuine you'd hardly think it was just acting
You can actually see him cracking up already the moment he slides in :D
You could say they are Fake Doctors, Real Friends
Turk just sliding in with that recorded line was amazing
Dude, I love your new tape recorder

GESUNDHEIT! xD
I love German references in Scrubs.
Gesundheit ist einfach genauso wie KINDERGARTEN ein Wort, was in den englischen Sprachgebrauch direkt übergegangen ist, ohne sich zu verändern.
