Wow, that looks amazing! I am going spearing near Bodø next week and would love to shot some coalfish. In what habitat do you typically find coal fish? I have zero experience with this species.
Normally the larger coalfish are in deeper waters, but up north you can find them quite shallow so should be no problem. Ive found all larger ones in areas with alot of current.

Yes, there have been really decent size fish this spring/summer in a couple of spots
