Just gotta jump in real quick - I'm a huge NHL history buff and noticed a small mix-up! Rocket Richard was definitely first to hit that magical 50-goal mark in '44-45 (in just 50 games, which is absolutely insane!). But here's the thing - Hull became the FIRST player to blast past 50 when he lit the lamp 54 times in '65-66. Both absolute legends who changed the game forever! Trust me, I've watched every highlight reel of these beauties more times than I can count! 🏒
The first 50 goals scorer in the history of the NHL was Maurice "Rocket" Richard, and he did it in 50 games. In 1945, long before Hull even played hockey seriously.
I met Bobby Hull numerous times in my life. I first met him when I was about 6 years old. I last met him when I was in my 50's. He was always nice and approachable. He made me feel like a million dollars. I grew up in Chicago and played hockey all my life. He was my first "Hockey Hero." Everyone has their faults, but, there is a lot of good in this man. I will forever by a Bobby Hull fan.
There is a lot of talk about Hull's skating speed and the speed of his shot, which are very impressive of course. But there is a whole mental side of his game that I never hear much if anything about. Hull had a knack for being at the right place at the right time. He often seemed to come out of nowhere with the puck on his stick and an open lane between him and the goalie. Getting all those scoring opportunities is a testament to his ability to read the defense, communicate with his teammates, and quickly anticipate what was about to happen. Bottom line, Hull was a great competitor who drove himself to become great in every aspect of the game.
Hull scored 50 or more goals 5 times, in seasons that contained 70-78 games. The Ovechkin of his day. Largely overlooked as a player now, and that's a shame, regardless of his life off the ice.
How can one who came 1st, be called after he who came long after? Ovechkin, is the Bobby Hull of his day, not the other way around. It's like saying, ''the father, is just like the son''. That's nonsensical.
This video exaggerates a little bit but let's just say Hull was a hellofa player. He was tough, had flair, and yes is a legendary player. Everyone thought he had the hardest shot and he did have a scary shot it was recorded that his brother Dennis had a harder shot. Also Hull was recorded as the fastest skater in the league. He was one of those guys fans stood up in anticipation of something great coming when he got the puck.
Great. Just great. Now every idiotic clown who watches hockey is going to be producing AI videos with superlatives, hyperbole, extrema, exaggeration, and outright lies. Other commenters have noted that Richard was the first to score fifty, but Bernie Geoffrion also did it long before Hull. His slapshot record has been asterisked for many years because the technology of the time was highly suspect.
Eh. Hull was absolutely a great player, definitely top 100, but I can't say I agree with the message of this video. The idea that Hull was this overwhelming influence that revolutionized the game isn't right. He had some serious influence on the game and is one of my favorites from that era, but he was not a revolutionary player who "ushered in a new era" (Which would put him with players like Richard, Howe, Orr, Gretzky etc.). You also seem to suggest that Hull was *the one* who changed player compensation when in fact it was several players over the years. Also been noticing a lot of BS clickbait titles in nearly all of your videos. You often use quotes and notions that don't exist and then you never even mention them in the video. It's just invented clickbait. Definitely not subscribing
I rarely give thumbs down, but must make an exception. Too many inaccuracies and errors. A lot of repetition and even some false statements along with the clickbaity title.

...take a breath.
Some of the video isn’t Hull. But a good job overall. I’m glad you’re not using A.I. voiceover
And Bernie Geoffrion was the 2nd to hit precisely 50. It's hard to take these things seriously when they can't get their facts straight.

Yup, a lot of misinformation in this tech age we live in ! Watch out !
Famous Habs story: The Rocket had the flu and had moved that day, moving furniture etc. Then went out and scored five goals that night.
The 2nd was Bernie Geoffrion. Robert Marvin Hull was #3
OK so repetitive, hyperbolic, and breathless, with obvious factual errors. Unsubscribed.
He was incredible for sure...but Maurice Richard was the 1st to score 50 goals in a season back in 1944

When he started with the Hawks, Hull did not wear number 9 but number 16.
After 16 he wore 7 for a season then to 9.

First to score more than 50 goals in a season, not first to 50.
I gotta be honest but a lot of this script sounds like it was made with Chat gpt
Imagine what the speed of his slapshot would have been with today's sticks? Probably 125 MPH.
How stupid is this guy? Richard scored 50 goals in 50 games before Hull entered the league!

It's been said that Bobby's brother, Dennis, had an even harder slapshot than Bobby.
A short side note- I briefly went to school with Bobby Hull Jr.
He was a great person 😢

One thing is for certain is that Hull was a tremendous hockey plater. He is actually ranked 6th all time behind Gretzky Orr Howe Lemeiux and Richard.
get your facts right
Bobby Hull had the biggest fkn arms of any man. What a machine.

This sounds like it's AI.
Maurice Richard scored 50 goals in 50 games and first with the Montreal Canadiens
Gotta get the facts straight...see Maurice 'Rocket' Richard 1944-45 Montreal Canadians 50 goal season. Bobby Hull was just a wee lad then.
Funny that you forgot about Rocket Richard scoring 50 in 1945. What evidence do we have that he actually shot a puck at 118mph?
Bobby Hull the LAST superstar of the WHA to win the AVCO Cup!
0:34 Sounds like 2024-2025
This when they smoked and drank heavily in the locker room 😂
He signed a million dollar contract in '72 not '67.
And in 1957 he stepped onto the ice wearing #16, not #9.
Bobby Hull was Alexander Ovechkin BEFORE Ovechkin!
So what's the technique?
Too many inaccuracies here to list.
"...deep dive?" -- hardly.
Goalies were so weak in that era!
remember it well!
