If we accept Zak's idea that we are living in a "Time Between Worlds", then going deep into history and philosophy (and psychology, systems theory and developmental studies) is crucial as we try to orient ourselves amidst the chaos of transition. The old maps (reductive human capital theory, the religion of individualism, perpetual growth economies etc.) seem increasingly outdated - the question is what comes next?
