I have seen a few video's on the ZOYI by people that know what they are talking about and they seem very favourable towards it. These cheap testers are getting better and better
As long as these meters are in the ball park then they are handy to have. FNIRSI sell scopes and I thought this LCR meter would have faired out better, apparently its not that good by reviews
If you want to test electrolytic capacitors thoroughly you need to measure three things, capacitance value, ESR, and leakage vs operating voltage. None of these meters measure leakage, you can have a nominal value cap with low ESR and still have a bad cap if its leaky (how detrimental this is depends on how it is being used in the circuit). The Zoyi is fine for capacitance value and ESR. There are some simple diy leakage testers you can build for low voltage caps. If you want to test high voltage caps I suggest you consider buying one.
ZOYI is the best here the others are poor and I would not trust them, the ZOYI has changable frequency. However I would recomend Peak Atlas ESR70 this is made in the UK or a capacitor wizard made in the USA.
Thanks for the info, I did look at the Atlas and if I was going to do a lot more recaps I would have proberly would have went for that one its around £85. But I may just recap one more amp now and that will be it I think.

Interesting stuff, thanks for posting Michael.
Jim🏴🙂
Thanks for watching Jim, all the best Michael

ZOYI ZT-MD1, after updating, the device cannot be turned on. What should I do?
Mine updated ok. I would get in touch with manafacture, there might be a way to reset device
you don't know how to use the fnirsi,, the first press is for power on and the second is for testing...
Ahh thanks for the heads up on the fnirsi
