    2:18 - her saying about taking steps towards the world, the world will take steps towards you, reminds me of that Rumi quote "As you start to walk on the way, the way appears". I like her outlook, I'm trying to get brave enough to take that 1st step, alone.

    Thank goodness she found Sonia Vargas to teach her. But Regina's mom also is a piano teacher. I shudder to think that if she hadn't found Sonia, she wouldn't play piano today. I read somewhere that her mom didn't want to teach her because they don't believe in that.

    So poor her family couldn't afford a piano? I'm sure most people can't afford a piano.

      Pianos are only 300+ for a used cheap one. I don't even have a full job yet and I'm saving up for one and have found a used one I can afford for 100 dollars that somebody close by is willing to sell. Baby grand and grands tend to be more expensive though which makes me skeptical.

      It was donated to her with furniture donations which were common in the era after the Jewish immigration to the US,

      Yeah but they can get a Casio keyboard from Walmart that makes all kinds of funky sounds!

    Poor in the USA is not the same level of poor in a 3rd World or repressed Country. Again, you really misunderstood what I commented on. It had less to do with Spektor and more to do with the way Sawyer chose to make a statment about being "So Poor" in itself. We are all IGNORANT at some point. We don't know everything. Be Polite next time. Peace be with you, and God Bless! John 3:16, 14:6, Mark 16:15. And May The Lord protect you, your family and keep you safe from harm, In Jesus' Name...Amen.

    Be Polite next time. Peace be with you, and God Bless! John 3:16, 14:6, Mark 16:15. And May The Lord protect you, your family and keep you safe from harm, In Jesus' Name...Amen. YES...I can see how I was soooo void of compassion here BUT you provided a perfect example, right? You're point is moot. Lol, Regina Spektor is no longer poor.

    Lol...food stamp poor, huh but nowhere near Sally Struthers poor...right? No, I'm sure that you weren't sportin' a mouth full of flies or a potbelly from mal nourishment; the point is that you along with every other *thumb downing* person has failed to understand my opinion & that's it. Listen... just by making it to America, you've done better than most & owning a piano that was GIVEN 2U adds to your possessions aka wealth. You're free to disagree. It's what makes the USA GREAT! GOD BLESS!

  • @berryola
    @berryola 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lol..and you proved exactly WHAT by calling me an *Expletive* & getting all bent out of shape over irrelavent subject matter? ANSWER: THAT YOU'RE NO DIFFERENT AND JUST AS MUCH OF AN *EXPLETIVE* THAT YOU LABELED ME WITH...just capslock on but your silly enough to think that I was yelling, huh..Lol. Relax...it's not that serious nor is it worth an argument.

  • @berryola

    Lol...re-read & slow down when U do, sporto. My comment aka "My Opinion" had more to do with Diane Sawyer's paralleling the lack of ownership of a piano to being poor. Poor is defined many ways. My point "break it down further" is that just by living in America, just by making it over to America: one has done greater for themselves than say trying to survive in Ethiopia. It is you who is IGNORANT rather incapable of respecting someone else's opinion especially when U misinterpret it.
