Congratulations on your achievement! Instead of saying, “Adobe has improved…,” you now get to say “WE have improved…!” You are a perfect fit for that role, and glad to know that knowledgeable people like you are on the team!
Congratulations on the credit! I'm sure that it's well deserved. This is the first of your videos that I've seen and it won't be the last.. Subscription earned.
Great video as always and a huge congratulations with all your work with the Adobe team. I was able to attend some Lightroom courses/mini seminars in San Francisco years ago and I was blown away at all the talent and resources within Adobe.
Congrats to you and your colleagues on making the best photo editing tool ever! You have made me a better photographer and I thank you for that. And congrats on the nod from Apple, that should get you some exponential exposure so anyone who wants their work to look great will *have to have* Lightroom!
Congratulations on the credit. I help manage quality engineers in my day job and, like you, they are crucial to success. I'm happy to know you're part of the team.
hey brian! 13:30 was a revelation to me. I never know why sometimes i could not get objects to remove at the edge of the frame. I had cropped it first! Even though that problem is now fixed, that makes me feel less crazy about the past hahaha.
Congrats, Brian! Adobe made a great decision adding you to the team. Very appreciative for the new features in LR, so thanks to the team. Now if we could get a Versions indicator…. Maybe a word from our guy on the inside! 😜
Congrats on the recognition ! I double check twice to see if this was really a new video, As far as I remember I can choose multiple images in Lightroom, hit "edit in" and transfer to Photoshop. Am I missing something here? Neither "Edit as smart object" nor "Open as layers in Photoshop" are new either...I have used both of them many times in the past ....I'm really confused here 🙂
awesome, congrats! love to see LR grow, and welcome any and ALL quality of life improvements (please please keyboard shortcuts like LR Classic, at the least give us a zoom in zoom out 🙏
Brian. Congrats on your appointment to the Adobe Lightroom development team. That's a real milestone. You highlight the 'new' feature of being able to send multiple photos to PS at once from LrC.. I don't get it. I've been doing that for years and never had a problem. Often, I select a background image I want for several images, then add those images to my selection and send them all to PS, where I copy that background to all of them. Then mask each one to let the background through, then save them and get the edits into the LrC catalog. That's been part of my regular workflows for a long, long time. I'm on Windows 10, so I'm wondering if this is just new for Mac, computers??j I can't imagine Macs being behind Windows, but can't think of how else this could be "new". Please, someone, enlighten me.
Very nice update. I hope they also add the possibility to “lengthen” the editing panel on the right side, as you can do in Lightroom Classic. Congratulations and greetings from Spain, Brian.
So It's like you have you name in lights Brian! Very happy for you. Lot's of goodness in this release that helps me. The gen remove change is big, And the multiple open in photoshop too. The alt text field will help me if i plan to export to multiple social sites that have and encourage it's use. But i'm delighted with the extended description field. Well, I guess I'd better try it out first. I was thinking I can use this for notes but if this is also exported I'd better be cautious. thanks
Doh! I just had the oopsie generative remove after crop mistake on a pano, literally an hour before I upgraded. I should have watched your video first! And congrats on the credit; deserved.
Congrats on your credit achievements. One note I wanted to share regarding something that you said in the video... For years I have been able to save a file launched from LRC into Photoshop, and see my updates in LRC without closing the file in PS. This has been and still is a part of my workflow... To save, and then launch and view in full screen in lightroom. I run my apps on a macbook... Not sure if things function differently on windows???
Hey Brian! Congratulations on the Adobe recognition! That’s awesome and you definitely deserve the credit. Now, about the updates….I’m sure you don’t remember, but some time ago I emailed you asking about when the “return to Lightroom after editing in Photoshop” feature might be added to Lr, because I was so used to it being in LrC. Well, we got it now! I’m thrilled to see the other updates too, but not so sure about the “cat eye bokeh” feature in Lens Blur. Who would ever notice edge bokeh not resembling cat eyes? I think that’s kind of funny. I imagine you and other Adobe software engineers discussing it: Fred: “Hey Brian, my mini panther’s eyes have the coolest shape, what say you about adding that shape to the edge bokeh in lens blur?” Brian: “Uhmmm, I guess that’s ok, but who would ever notice that?” 😂😂💜💜😂😂
Great video and especially Smart Object support is much appreciated. Is there any way to round trip the original tiff back into Photoshop without creating another file?
First Congratulation, very well deserved. Second the only thing (ok besides the Map Module) I am missing is the new Adaptive Profile that is only in CR so far. Hope it finds it way into LR and LrC soon. I wonder if those three will merge into one Application down the road, or at least LR and LrC it is just weird that Adobe puts so much effort in three almost identical applications.
Hi Brian. Big congratulations to you and the team! Also, do you know if Lightroom CC will be available for Windows on ARM devices? I’m desperate to know if it’s coming! Thank you for the great videos!
Congratulations, would be great if they would add a decent sharpening tool. Wouldn't need any other program then, especially as the noise reduction is so good.
Hi Brian, firstly let me echo the comments by others and congratulations on being on the Lightroom team. I have only recently moved up from Lightroom Mobile having watched your videos on using that genre. But I’m confused. Initially I downloaded Lightroom onto my mac but that only seemed like the mobile version, so I downloaded Lightroom Classic. When I edited an image from the Photos App sometimes it would open one version (LR) other times LRC. So I deleted LR and just have LRC but this video is about LR. So, which should I use, LR or LRC? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
A major reason for me to still use lightroom classic is that the cloud based version still has no HDR function. I hope that it will be added soon to lightroom desktop
Hey Frank! HDR is actually available within Lightroom Desktop now. We also just launched (yesterday) the ability to edit HDR images in Lightroom on the Web (In a supported Chrome Browser) with further support coming soon. Let us know if there's something else HDR related you're still looking for support on.
If i'm not mistaken before you could open from lightroom w/Lr edit and even if your in Photoshop and CTRL + S you still didn't have to close out just to get full comp and it still saved in Lr and you keep working on open document....kind of counter productive having to close-out before saving in Lr wouldn't you say ?
With the new Lightroom desktop, do you still have to save and close out of your file in Photoshop for it to show up in Lightroom, classic you don't need to All you got to do is save it. But it seems like on the new one you need to close out of the document as well which means potential loss of layers depending on how you're saving the file
I wish LR Mobile & Classic kept the same shortcuts. I prefer Classic but on the go have to use Mobile and it sucks that it’s totally different, unnecessarily so. Please take it up on the next board meeting 🤣😂🤣
Actually the hardware controller support is the main highlight for me, I'm quite surprised how little attention it gets, but I guess it's mostly because so far it's not much helpful with zero integrations available. I hope Adobe has given the specification to Loupedeck, etc. long time ago and they are already working on it. Any idea is there is already some timeline? I guess you guys didn't develop it in secret? :P
Brian, I don't understand the diference between the versions of LR. LRC, LRD? LRM makes some sense. Why isn't desktop the same thing as classic. Classic is a desktop program.
Congratulation ! I really like lightroom classic... but i find On1 pr2025 better for brillance ai, superselect, denoise with feather sharpening... filters, loyers, text,... and, for wildlife i am using it standalone on a7r5 raw files
Congratulations on your achievement! Instead of saying, “Adobe has improved…,” you now get to say “WE have improved…!” You are a perfect fit for that role, and glad to know that knowledgeable people like you are on the team!
Congrats for your new role in Adobe`s Lightroom team.
Thank you so much 😀
Congrats!
And the workflow changes for Smart Objects show that sometime simple changes can be incredibly powerful. This is a very helpful update.
Brian, Congratulations on your new role on the Lightroom team! I’m looking forward to more enhancements and improvements.
Congratulations Brian, very well deserved. Yes you should be proud!!! 👏👏
Congratulations, sir, very well deserved!
Awesome update, tks for highlighting it!
Thank you kindly!
Congrats! Thank you for producing these great videos
My pleasure! I'm glad you're finding them helpful!
Congratulations on being recognized by Adobe as a valued contributor to the Quality Engineering team for Lightroom. This is a well-deserved honor!
Congrats for the new role on Team Adobe Thanks for the videos
Thank you, Andy!
Congratulations on the credit! I'm sure that it's well deserved. This is the first of your videos that I've seen and it won't be the last.. Subscription earned.
Congratulations on your achievement with Adobe!!
Well deserved 🎉
Congrats on getting your name in there - you have achieved immortality!
Just found you. Congratulations and please thank the team - the after crop removal just put a big smile on my face. Thanks
Congrats, Brian!
I'm so happy to see the "open as layers" option. Great job team!
Congratulations and well deserved Brian. I am not surprised in the least to be honest. Thanks for all of your Videos!
Congrats!!!! Brian you deserve it!!!!
Congratulations on joining the Lightroom team and being recognized on the start up panel. That is definitely something to be proud of.
Congrats dude!! The edit in PS updates are so welcome 🫡🫡
I wish Adobe would admit they are no longer interested in updating the iPad version.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!WOW
Congratulations Brian, absolutely thrilled for you 🥳
3:30 way to go Brian well done congrats 👏
Congratulations on joining the team and great video. You do an excellent job explains said material covered.
Congrats Brian, well-deserved recognition

Congratulations on the Adobe credit! Well deserved. Thanks for the information, great updates. It just keeps getting better.
Great video brian always look forward to seeing your latest one and ready for next
I really appreciate it! I'm working on "What's New in Lightroom Mobile" and "What's New in Lightroom Web" videos next!
Great video, Brian. And great to learn about generative remove working with cropping. That has tripped me up a few times, and I didn't realize why.
Congratulations on the credit. I help manage quality engineers in my day job and, like you, they are crucial to success. I'm happy to know you're part of the team.
Really great things Brian!! Congratulations to you and the entire team.
Congratulations Brian 🎉. You deserve it fully!
Thanks Brian another great video, and congratulations on becoming part of the team!!
I’ve been waiting for this update! This was the last thing I wanted since I switched from using LR classic. Congratulations to you Brian!
Congratulations on your new role (from another QA Engineer).
Way to go Brian. Congrats!!

Kudos, and thanks for your great work!
Ability to sync Full RES RAW files from Classic is what I'm looking for.
well done Brian excellent work
Congrats for gettind into Adobes team, great video too. Please we need color labels for improve work flow. Thanks.
Another great video
For me this a game changer well done Brian

Can we get a mass auto straighten and or a shortcut for auto straighten on both LRC and LR?
Congratulations 🎉
I hope the next improvement in LR is able to allow us to denoise and upscale jpeg files.
Congratulations, would be great if they would add a decent sharpening tool. Wouldn't need any other program then, especially as the noise reduction is so good.

I'm not sure what you mean. Lightroom Desktop has both tone-mapping photo merge and actual HDR editing functionality.
@ great news. I'll try it. Thanks
@@brianmatiash I was not aware that the merge function is available in the other version, I mean not the classic version but the other one. Thanks

Brian, I don't understand the diference between the versions of LR.
LRC, LRD? LRM makes some sense.
Why isn't desktop the same thing as classic. Classic is a desktop program.
Edit in Photoshop finally work in LR on Snapdragon Elite (CoPilot) PCs??
Why the new versions of Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Classic are not compatible with Mac with Intel processors?
i'm so pissed as my Imac is not compatible with the new updates. Is Adobe and Apple in partnership by any chance?🤬
Congratulation ! I really like lightroom classic... but i find On1 pr2025 better for brillance ai, superselect, denoise with feather sharpening... filters, loyers, text,... and, for wildlife i am using it standalone on a7r5 raw files
Is there any particular reason why we can't customize shortcuts in LR? For me, that's super annoying.
So 9 minutes into this, I'm wondering if there were lightroom improvements? Essentially all Photoshop stuff so far
Open as a smart object is not new to Lightroom, there has been two choices to move to Photoshop for quite a while.
Great news! Unfortunately I finally wised up and dumped Adobe.
Why you keep calling it LR Desktop? There's no such product. I have LR Classic installed.
Opening more images or as layers has been possible for years. This is not new.
Adobe does make products for me.... they make them for profit and you are deluded if you think otherwise.
I feel the days of LRc are coming to a close.
Congratulations 🎉
