Congratulations Ben for the initiative of having debates like this with the greats Prof. Radhika Desai and Prof. Michael Hudson! We are extremely grateful to both Professors for this independent and accurate analysis!
they think China has some kind of benevolent capitalism, they're repeating the myth of confucian capitalism, where asian nations would respect others sovereignty and grow peaceful, well thats not how it works, capital has no culture or morals. China is already exporting predatory loans to the rest of the world, give the opportunity and they will become just as bad as the US. The only socialism is the overthrow of capital altogether.
Learning things is great but you can learn a lot of stuff that is wrong... You really have to go to what the west is now calling "russian disinformation" to find narratives that have any descriptive, predictive and proscriptive value at all.
We need to accept that the US and the global north is a lost cause. Ultimately it will come to the peoples of the global south, the greater part of humanity, and the hope of multi-polar world, along with all its contradictions.
I hope Geopolitical Economy Report catches on and the number of listeners grows into a political movement. Radhika and prof. Hudson. Brilliant analysis by Micheal Hudson and Radhika. You are light in the world where corrupt powers have created artificial human made darkness on every inch of the world of intellectual journey. Great Job
Thank you Radhika and Michael, for this excellent discussion about a rapidly changing global geopolitical economy. Now that the dominant Anglo-Saxon American financial institutions and their so called 'international rules based order' are imposing economic sanctions on and the seizure of state assets, it can no longer be trusted.

Awesome talk! I'll be catching each one of these as they come out! Some questions/suggestions I have: 1) Can you dive into the attempts by some international organizations, such as the BRICS or in South America, to make alternative currencies? Are we looking at a return to the gold standard at some point? What do you put their chances of success at? 2) For countries that already under the thumb of the IMF and similar organizations, how will they, in practical terms, escape debt peonage? If you were, say, ruling Egypt right now, what would be your 5 or 10 or 20 step plan to get from where they are now to independence? 3) I agree with you when you say that America's ability to project power militarily has declined, and that there is basically only one step between targeted assassinations and nuclear weapons. Having said that, we've also seen a concerted effort over the last decade at least that particularly focuses on Iran and China. Do you ever see Iran and China being engaged militarily (to presumably disastrous effect), or will America just continue to try and covertly engineer regime change? (or, to test your ability to see the future less, do you think that the people in charge in Washington actually want to go to war with Iran and China or is this just posturing?) 4) Will this new Cold War have a similar structure with the West on one side, the East on the other, and a Non-Aligned Movement? I can already see countries like Turkey and India trying to essentially play both sides for their own gain, but are these outliers, or will many countries seek to maintain ties with both sides? Will this work out for them or will they eventually be forced to choose? 5) And finally, how does climate change factor into all this? Particularly as we saw last year, with some countries being massively flooded (Pakistan), others going through extreme drought (China, Europe, some parts of the US). I can guess that it'll negatively affect most countries, but do you have any specific thoughts on how the new Cold War will be affected by a warming climate? just going to edit in a final question: 6) What should we, the people interested in America's hold on the world being weakened, be looking out for in terms of economic indicators of decline? I'm already aware of how GDP is a very imperfect measure of economic growth; could you possibly elaborate further on that, and give alternative measures that quantify how, say, America or Germany or the UK are going downhill? e.g. industrial output, inflation, businesses opened/closed, investment, etc? Thanks!
Excellent segment. I like the new name. Q. "Why does the sun never set on the British Empire?" A. "Because god would never trust the Brits at night." ;-)
Michael Hudson is a true national hero! His prescient observations of finance, geopolitical strife and US hegemony remain the most coherent and clear to understand. So glad to see that this show is being done! And look forward to more!
You both should be at the helm. I've followed Michael for years even with trouble seeing it all fit. Radhika has been a huge supplement and has helped my understanding. The world then may be the saving grace, the imperialist because of their unchecked dominance just become more and more arrogant. As we all know, arrogance eventually leads to ignorance. Even in the last few months you can see the beginnings of the global shift which is much more developed then any in USA knew. Hopefully, the public will begin to see this as a good thing. I was born in 1944, I have been gifted for many years just because of my birthdate. Maybe this is a beginning and not a death spiral ... alas, hope.

Glad to hear Prof Desai talk about how differently the RMB will be “internationalized”.
