For placements : Dont bother joining Mtech. In IITs too you have to prepare DSA & other soft skills to crack same tier1 companies which you could've gotten offcampus without wasting couple of year and experience the extreme hectic pressure of course load in IITs. For research : Definitely join MTech/MTech(Research)/MS/PhD(Direct). After master's from IISc/IITs you can easily apply to World's top universities with much better proposals for PhD/Post Doc.
It's totally depends on you and the reason for doing MTech must be valid. If the reason is to get good job then you already have it. But if you want to go out like abroad and study and have different plans then you should go.
Please don't come under these fake gate dreams. First important thing after graduation is to get good experience. You can prepare for banking exam as well. Even if you join tcs it will pay you 22k. In long term you will understand why you should not waste time on gate. If found helpful do like. Comment if you have other opinions. Please don't comment if you don't have any gate experience
