White Maori, He was far from lucky mate, it is quite sad he has suffered his whole life with ALS and not given up to do the thing that he loves. Personally, If I had ALS and suffered that badly, I would have requested euthanasia almost immediately. Absolutely amazing he lived such a long life considering the doctors said he only had 2 years to live once he got diagnosed when he was 23.

Honestly, I've always tried to think about what it would be like if different fundamental constants and equations had different values. This was a really neat Pi day video! can't wait for next year. =)

I know a great identity:
pi^wau=tau/(sqrt(wau)+wau^pi)
Its pretty complicated, but if you solve it for pi you can express pi pretty easy

Actually, having an extra two hours every year would result in having a leap year every third year, instead of fourth.
(years are 365 days and 6 hours, that is where they pull a whole day from)

That number is actually really important in physics because some equations that contain pi and have some really tiny solution could go horribly wrong

Stephan Hawking died on pie day this year. Coincidence? I think not.
I'm not joking my math teacher persuaded the school to do a whole big thing for pi day. There was a pi baking contest and each grade had to dress down to their assigned number which had a color and it was super extra. I decided to show my teacher your pi videos and I swear he sat silently for 5 minutes just kinda thinking about it before asking me "why did you show me that?"

Also, pie is the English pronounciation. In Greek (it is a Greek letter after all) it is more like pee.

I really like the concept of this video and the notion that such a seemingly minuscule change can have such a great effect on the world and universe if applied. A simple change of 0.0003 could alter things on a grand scale, yet to the naked eye, we wouldn't see that much of a difference. The whole visual about the "wobble" and fitting in more to accommodate the new pi was very interesting and really helped me understand the "alternative pi" concept. Though I had to watch the video a few times to fully grasp what she was saying, it was very informative and it really makes me think about how we, as humans, got to the point where we've determined this ongoing and seemingly perfect and essential number.
Literally all of this went straight over my head but I still enjoyed it.

Pi proves that reality isn’t a simulation. Since pi is infinite and non-repeating, any possible creators of the universe couldn’t program it, because it would require infinite space
In my job I've learnt why I have to avoid any error I can: because IRL final result will be affected by many errors and approximations, each one can even exponentially change the result. As my job was to measure things, one of the errors was made by hardware, other by observer, other one my approximation constants. In total there were 5 basic errors which always exists and forgetting about one would cause that people could die later, because assuming everything ideal, different pi wouldn't change much, but when you * and ^ everything, then the construction might fall apart. Actually the biggest precision we did was after death of 50 people and we had to recheck basically every building in the area and we discovered how past surveyours didn't care about small errors, which turned into big one. And that's the risk of being edupunk - things people know from you might end disastrous, if you don't put proper disclaimers.
You forgot: the only way to find the area of a circle is to multiply pi by the radius squared
