Looking to boost my flipping rods, couldn't tell what that blue lure was
The lure in the video is a Black n Blue Bruiser Crazy Craw, but my favorite flipping and punching bait is either a Black Blue Blue Tip Gambler Why Not or same color in a Gambler Burner Craw, but the Bruiser Crazy Craw is also a great punching bait too.
When punching and flipping the rod is really key. You want to make sure to have a Heavy to Ex Heavy power baitcaster with 50- 65lb braid, I prefer using Cortland MasterBraid or Silent Flip. For the rod my favorite is the Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) rods, they have a lifetime warranty on all there rods with rods from $100-$220. Currently I’m using the 8’ Ex Heavy Tactical Bass Rod with 65 lb Cortland Silent Flip line.
Live right next to this lake, what do you prefer as your main fishing bait for this area?
I have only been on the lake a couple times but over the submerged grass I like either a ChatterBait with a Gambler Komodo trailer or a Gambler Burner Worm Texas rigged with a 3/16 oz Woo! Tungsten. For punching I like the Gambler Why Not or Burner Craw with a 1.5- 2 oz Woo! Tungsten pinned too it. Other than that it’s tough to go wrong with a stick bait weighted or unweighted, my favorite is the Gambler Fat Ace but also the Gary Yamamoto Senko is also a good one. Colors are usually Junebug or Green Pumpkin for the stick bait and burner worm and green pumpkin or white for the ChatterBait and trailer. Punching baits I always use black and blue type colors.
