While your content is mostly, let's say informative in nature, the way you handle all those different types of animals shows how much you care about each and every one of them. Such a great channel. You clearly love what you do and I hope you won't ever get tired of it!
@@GeneralApathy yo bro at 2:30 there's a leaf at the bottom right with grab like legs. why tf is there a grab on a leaf using another leaf as camo wtf hahahaha 😂😂😂
Very good video, however I'm quite unsatisfied, because you ignored the crab next to the first katydid. But I loved the video anyways and I'm looking forward to your next video.
Super footage. I watched another video recently about the biodiversity of Colombia, and learned that there are more than 1000 species of butterfly in the Choco rainforest. What a place!
I found your channel recently hand have been binging all your content, so of course when I noticed a beetle on its back the other day (can't tell you what kind, but a small and unremarkable beetle) I figured I'd pick it up and handle it for a bit. And wouldn't you know, that little bugger instantly bit me!
As a kid I loved catching European Katydids (Tettigonia viridissima). Always a challenge to avoid a good pinch. At least the European ones are very eager to share their unhappiness at being caught with you.
Ive been really enjoying your content and im wondering what you use for recording all of the critters? Im sorry if this is a question you get a lot. I always look forward to your uploads
My sisters fiancee just got his PHD in entomology and they are moving to New Jersey where he got a professor gig at Rutgers, he is one of my favorite people to have a conversation with.
last month, a katydid landed on my back because I was walking next to a bush. and it's surprising how heavy these things are. chonkier than they look.

@@GeneralApathy actually it looks like a huntsman spider. do they normally do that..?
@@lokichomp3201 No definitely a crab, apparently quite common there
That orange huntsman is so damn gorgeous.
I've never seen anyone with an encyclopedic memory as good as yours. Absolutely insane.
That was a beautiful spider in the beginning
It was pooping. He literally scared the poop out of it.
wow, never seen that type of huntsman, its gorgeous
Some Amazing Finds! Especially that Bright Orange Huntsman!

Armases angustum will continue to be ignored.
Can't forget the moth(?) that flew by aswell. 3 different creatures in one frame!
@@GeneralApathy armassus angustum was ignoring you too, so it evens out.
@@GeneralApathy crabs are cool wtf 💀
@@Sanginn apparently thery are thousands of those little crabs in the area
Nice cameo tho😆
Gotta say, watching these videos puts me out of my comfort zone with bugs and spiders but i feel much less terrified! Kinda liking spiders now.
2:30 I thought it was a crab spider at first but now it looks like an actual crab?
Super footage. I watched another video recently about the biodiversity of Colombia, and learned that there are more than 1000 species of butterfly in the Choco rainforest. What a place!

So sad.
Thanks for my lesson into the world of snakes, insects and arachnids. Always a pleasure listening to your videos.
Beautiful bugs. I wish I had your confidence in handling them.

that was the most strikingly beautiful huntsman I've ever seen.
I like how we just gloss over the crab under the leaf next to the Katydid lol
Somehow I'd gone all my life til now without seeing a spider poop. Thank you for fixing that
YES General apathy upload is such great news.
Thank you for Picking these things up. So I NEVER have to! lol
1:25 there is a crab hiding under a leaf
How did he miss the little dude?
There were thousands of them (Armases angustum) in that area.
Haha was about to comment the same
@@GeneralApathy oh Lord I did not know they be swarming like brown anoles in Florida
Such a wonderful and fascinating treasure trove of information and a joy to watch.

beautiful creatures. Thank you for sharing!
the katydids seem so adorably dopey
My sisters fiancee just got his PHD in entomology and they are moving to New Jersey where he got a professor gig at Rutgers, he is one of my favorite people to have a conversation with.
The katydid has gone rogue
did anyone else notice the tree crab under the yellow leaf when he found the first katydid?
You sure scared the sh!t out of that huntsman spider.
🙄
Is that a crab on the leaf next to the first Katydid ?
The huntsman shat itself
Wait. We're just ignoring the crab on the leaf? Why is there an arboreal crab?
armases angustum, apparently there were a lot of them around (he replied to a diff comment)
The huntsman at 0:17 is pooping. I've never seen a spider poop before. Interesting that it looks like bird poop.
Very nice. What is your camera set up?
That spider? I didn’t know she was chill like that 🫴🕷️
Loved teh color on that huntsman.
4th cant wait!
Please make a video about how to find spiders
Um yeah great video and all but im pretty annoyed you ignored that ant on the ground at 4:46
beeg friend :)
What on earth was coming out of that spider?
Are these bigger then Silquofera Grandis? 😮
No
Is the average size larger than the average size of Arachnacris corporalis?
Certainly not. A. corporalis should be at the very top for Orthoptera.
WOO NEW CONTENT
The frog was beautiful tho...
Reminds me of that steely dan album "katy lied"
Katy did what?
Heyo, I love me some biological superlatives. We got the largest bush katydid and the snake with (possibly) the fewest scales.
are there katydids in europe
Yes, katydids live on every continent except Antarctica.
cool
sweeeet
Man there’s no cool insects at all in Canada
kate bushydid
0:20 i wanna drink spider milk 😋
Man that’s poop not milk 😭🙏
Btw first
What was the white fluid dripping out of the orange huntsman spider ?
haha he got bit to all hell
Of course being a thread snake, this one belongs to the family Leptotyphlopidae"
I mean OF COURSE we know that. Who doesn't know that?
