Speedo is from a 9C1 Cop Car, 1986 the made aprox 9600 2 Doors, 1987 being the last at 3110, the maroon always faded. Runs Excellent! 👍
The original speedometer on the car was badly oxidized and not functional. I didn’t want to put aftermarket digital dash and ruin the aesthetics, so I went with the beautiful 9c1. Good catch, you know your caprices
I have a buddy that restored his father’s 87 Caprice Sport Landau. It’s showroom perfect, black with burgundy interior. It’s like a new car!

Nice car! I had an '81 Caprice Classic 2 Dr coupe with a 231 V6. I loved that car. Used and abused it and it kept going. Such a comfortable cruiser and got good gas mileage too!
I love the tail lights to the 81 caprice, reminds me of the ‘64 impala with three lights on each side. Check out my last video I have a 1987 caprice with a 4.3. The 4.3 sounded mean with out a muffler. Like and follow for more caprice and 80s car content
Lucky you!! Very nice & rare! My 1st car was the 1st yr of the "box" 77 & it was a coupe as well. Navy blue w/white top/white pleather seats. 305 2bl & had the aero-coupe ish rear glass. I LOVED that car! I was 16 & gas was 99 cents a gallon!!! (yes u read right) @ the Indian reservation by me...(1997)

This car is great for. I’m not sure anyone else sees the gem in this rough of shape.

It looks exactly like an 87 except the header panel and a few interior pieces. Sub for more caprice content , I have another 2 door box in the works !

Had a 2 tone blue 1987 caprice, a 1986 Brougham- White with a blue vinyl top, a 2 tone black and gray caprice, this baby blue caprice and finally the 1986 Landau. Got to love these cars. Gonna do an LS swap and daily it just like I did back in the day. Subscribe for a box chevy LS swap!

Man if you found your Parisienne with the Auto & RV it must have been a gem. You rarely saw clapped out cars in the magazine. Check out my last few vids, I have a mint 1986 Parisienne

What was the original cluster before the police speedo was installed? The 4 gauge one or the strip? Coupes are really rare. I have an 80 sedan with every option including F41 and sunroof.
The original gauge cluster was badly oxidized and the needles were stuck in place, so I decided to replace it with a 9c1 caprice gauge cluster. The original cluster was the 4 gauge one. IYKYK That F41 suspension option makes it ride like a dream! Subscribe to the channel, I have a 1982 2 door box that’s EXTREMELY rare!

Thats the plan, keep it as original as possible and only replace the things that are broken or missing.
I had a 79 Impala with the Aero rear window. 305 n2 barrel, but it was a nice one. Even had intermittent wipers....Wish I had kept it....although, I say that about many of the cars I've had...

I had a neighbor on the next block that had a 79 impala same kind with the aero window. I just remember walking by and thinking how crazy the back window was. Very cool and beautiful car. Don't forget to sub for the notification of when the next video drops!

White walls are the way to go
The white walls definitely set it off. I got the car with the original tires from 86 and they were completely dry rotted. Didn’t want them to blow up while driving and wreck the car

i hate to be "that guy" but 1986 caprice came with the mesh behind the grill from the factory as a protective device that was ground breaking at the time and unheard of in the automotive industry at the moment that was put in place by the EPA due to pollution and the emblem is not the correct year as well which leads me to believe that this car was in a front end collision as well including the paint fading and basically non existent which was probably done in a maaco or some shed in some backyard. just thought i should also add this is the story all about how My life got flipped, turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air In west Philadelphia born and raised On the playground where I spent most of my days Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys who were up to no good Started making trouble in my neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared And said you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air I begged and pleaded with her the other day But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way She gave me a kissin' and she gave me my ticket I put my Walkman on and said I might as well kick it First class, yo this is bad, Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass Is this what the people of Bel Air livin' like Hm this might be alright! I whistled for a cab and when it came near the License plate said 'Fresh' and had dice in the mirror If anything I could say that this cab was rare But I thought now forget it, yo home to Bel Air I pulled up to a house about seven or eight And I yelled to the cabbie, yo Holmes smell ya later Looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel Air

These cars are rare, forget about a little cleaning restore it with a new paint job, new bumper fillers...trying to find the trim is going to be difficult just improvise for that. Those w/ws looking nice keep em.. Otherwise to use a chevy slogan back then I would take car in a heartbeat. It would look nice next to my 90 Caprice in all orig mint condition.
Yeah thats exactly what this car deserves. Check out my other video, I bought a 1987 caprice classic parts car, to replace all the broken or missing pieces with original Caprice parts. The car will definitely get painted and kept original. Like you said, these cars are rare, and the Plan is to restore it and keep it on the road. That 305 or 350 V8 would sound a whole lot better with true dual exhaust with cat and smog delete
I think I’m going to keep this all original as long as I can, only replacing the things that are broken or need fixing. Subscribe to the channel I have another 2 door box that that I plan on doing an LS swap. Definitely another keeper!
What is it with everyone having a loud exhaust these days? You must really hate your neighbors, because nobody wants to hear your vehicle at 6am disturbing everyone.
I hate how the sunfades the interior in the old box chevys
Red and Blue interiors show the most sun fade but Ive heard that the Khaki and Gray interiors dont show their fade as bad. Im still looking for something to try to put color back into it without making it look bad and cheap.

Funny how this is seen as a rare find, but back in '86, it was considered a relic and too big, and "nobody buys RWD cars anymore, we're gettin one of those downsized cookie-cutter sedans GM's replaced this with".
