I had that red dye bleeding into the white area around it happen to me last month when I hand washed a vintage Christmas stocking, but I almost completely fixed it by carefully spot treating the white part with a bleach pen! Oh and also something I do before I go out with thrifted shoes is test the heel cap before I leave the house to make sure it’s not on its way to disintegrating before I’m stuck out and about and could possible ruin the heel cap-less heel 😁
Hi Luren, great tips for trifters thanks, I trifted the same gelly shoes probably a year ago and I haven't replace the crystals yet. I agreed with you don't buy stinky or need or need to fix items, always read the label on clothes check for holes, discoloration, zippers, etc..Happy new year.
I put very inexpensive vodka in a spray bottle. You have to try portions of water- I like 1/4 h2o to 3/4 vodka spray in small amounts.... but it definately removes musty and smoky smells. Ive never had a fail.
Dear Lauren, great video! Everybody makes washing mistakes, I don't buy anything I can't throw in the washing machine, cold water. I don't like dry cleaning, only for wool coats or jackets, like you say it can get expensive, often an item says handwash, in the machine it goes. My tip is I air dry everything, drying rack, hangers, works for me. I think the only one who will know the jelly shoes aren't bedazzled is you, don't worry about it 😊
Lauren to get rid of the typical vintage smell, have you tried spraying or soaking the item with vodka or alcohol? Also, placing the item in the sun or freezer can help eliminate odd odours/kill bacteria! ⭐💡
I ruined a beautiful houndstooth skirt, among other things, not dry cleaning. Heartbreaking. Have you ever used the bag for dry cleaning, that is put into the dryer? Glad to have found your content!
It’s the worst when something gets ruined! I have used the dry cleaning bag but not before I ruined a few things along the way 🤣🤣 Thanks so much for watching 💕

I bought a jacket on Poshmark that a tom cat had peed on. The seller, surprise, said she never smelled anything, although she herself had reposhed it. Some people have no honour. Caveat emptor.
