What a legend. Used this video 2 times already for this part replacement and did it least than 15min and I'm not a mechanic 💪 saved like 600 bucks from this!
Thank you for making this really understandable easy brief to the point I appreciate it yours is probably the easiest and clearest one that I've seen thank you
Now, I’m concerned if I did it right. It’s been a day with no check engine light. However to put it in, I couldn’t place it straight on with the bolts aligned. I had to go like 2 o clock from the bolt screw position, connect the middle turn connection and then rotate it back to “noon” on the screw alignment. Thus, I manually turned the inside of the new runner valve before screwing it in place
It has a spring mechanism in it, I had to rotate mine when I placed it on the manifold and then twist it back but think this is correct. If you were able to rotate the internal piece to match and it stayed after you rotated that doesn’t seem right. But also my engine light hasn’t gone away after replacing it so idk
Any idea why the newer I world engines did away with the intake manifold runner?? My caliber doesn’t have it! I went to a pull apart place to compare several vehicles and it appears the newer ones don’t have it
Great video, helped me change mine out. However I still can't get the light to go off... guess I'm going to have to mess with the plug or the actual piece that it connects to. You were able to turn with your fingers, i was not i had to use a screw driver and turn it (the part internal).
hey joe i used this video to replace my piece as well and it was a great video, except now my check engine light is saying “stuck open” would you know possibly what it might be?
@@Man-Up-G I know this is old, but there was an update for the pcm that fixes that false reading for stuck open. Dealer would flash it for probably 100$ not worth it honestly unless the light bothers you that bad.
Hi thanks for your video, I have a jeep with a 2.4 had the same part replaced by a mechanic. They didn't or could not reset the code. My engine light is still on. How could I reset it? Thanks
Mine was cleared with a simple scan tool. If by chance they forgot to clear it. Advance auto stores usually have a scanner you can use for free to scan and clear
@@JoeKurzawski Hi Joe , thanks for replying, I called Advance they said they don't clear codes. They are always good at my location. I'm going to buy the device. Might be different at your location. It's about $50.00. I would like to get one. I'll let you know how it worked. Thanks for the information.

This my project for tomorrow. To watch these "how to" videos makes the jobs a lot easier.

Tien Trinh that is correct I must have missed that part in the video.

Joe what was the code you were getting? I'm getting a p2016 code in the Jeep Patriot with the same 2.4L.
Thanks joe i did it and work perfect ..thanks again

What code were you getting?
can you explain what this does for the vehicle or what it makes the vehicle do when it doesn’t work right?

same for me, it goes on and off
Hey man! Just curious what code it was throwing (I’m getting p2004) wondering if this will fix that reading. Thanks!
Yes it was a p2004. Now I used a cheap one and it failed 6-7 months later so I replaced it again with a better one and it’s been fine

Did you ever end up figuring out the issue? my pops car is doing the same thing after replacing that same part. Thanks

how did you get the plug off?
What are the problems that it cause when the IMRC is damaged?
leobey it throws a code for it specifically and you get worse gas millage
Did that fix the code?
James Hoffman yes and got better MPG
My job today Jeff Webb, i love TH-cam. my code was P2017
what happen to your car if you have bad IMRC.
one thing for sure, if its stuck open, you get poor gas mileage.
So you checked wiring off camera and only left the easy stuff. And no info on code # or proof that the part was bad. Why change part or make video?
