I found my target fund is far too conservative for my liking. I was going to do 50% of my retirement into s&p500, but i decided to go only 25%. The rest is in target fund. Yes the s&p500 is volatile, but im 30 years from retirement. If it doesnt grow in 30 years ive got bigger problems than retirement. I can slowly reduce the ratio whenever we are in a bull market over the next 30 years.
