Thanks! I enjoyed your story about Bryson. I’ve been following him since he came out “all muscles”, and won a couple of tournaments. Bryson’s personally designed swing can be modeled against that of my golf mentor, Moe Norman. In 1994, I was introduced to Moe’s Swing, took several lessons, and within 6 months my 30 year old 20 handicap became a solid 12. With that unheard of improvement, I was invited to become a teacher of Natural Golf’s version of Moe Norman’s Single Plane Swing. Two years later, and for the next 15 years I played to a 6 handicap. 8 weeks from my 80th birthday, and still playing and teaching.

The type of people you are talking about that talking crap on Bryson, possibly even how you yourself viewed him - are the reasons why so many people write golf off as a snobby joke of a “sport.” All the talk of golf being for the ultra wealthy, country club mentality, out of shape “pro athletes” that tend to be gamblers and alcoholics… these are the stereotypes Bryson was breaking and that’s why he received so much vitriol. He wasn’t scared to be a nerdy jock. He didn’t back down from challenges - he faced them head on. He focused on looking under every stone possible for ways to increase his game. TH-cam allowed Bryson to bypass the false and self serving narrative the PGA tried to build about him. They were going to lump him in with Mickelson and Norman as a bunch of villains the world was supposed to hate and portray themselves as the good guys. Bryson exposed them.
Surprised you didn’t mention he won the US Open before leaving for LIV. He’s unquestionably one of the top competitors today. Good video. He’s fun to watch on TH-cam and on Tour.
This video resonates with me, 67 year old guy. Didn't like Bryson from the first time I saw him, winning the US amateur. Then, recently I started watching his youTube videos and realised what a great guy he is. Love him, his lessons, interactions with others, the crazy challenges etc. He's on Liv, which I detest (I don't like the money on the PGA tour either) but everytime he plays in a major (sometimes ranked no 150+ due to idiocy) he challenges for a win. Go Bryson!
Bryson is an awesome player and even a more awesome person. He will always be a champion on and off the golf course. He strong and confident which all the greats need to succeed in golf but he is so approachable and doesn't let his ego define him. He is very real and makes a huge contribution to humanity. He is the type of guy you want to hang with for sure!
Arnold had Hollywood good looks, small town charm, along with skills to beat the best at their own game. He was one of us. His warmth and connection with his fans was his secret weapon. Bryson is starting to get that connection as well through his youtube channel, and on-tour persona. I suspect he's the biggest name in golf behind Scheffler right now.
I've followed Bryson on Instagram and with Good Good well before he reinvigorated his youtube channel, and whilst so many downers were knocking him for slow putting, knocking him for his uniqueness and his quirks and the Brooksie BS. I was trolling the trolls hard and trying to get them to see his potential. I never watched golf on TH-cam until Bryson came along. I also used to wonder how my kid would sit and watch others play Minecraft until I found myself sitting and watching Break 50.
I saw him at the open at royal st georges in 2021. Box office. I would pay hundreds to see him hit the ball. He has charisma oozing from him. Seve and phil are the only other 2 who had that ability of walking in a room of 1000 people and everyone knew they where there. The pga last week was so fun with him competing.
the TH-cam golf scene brought me back to golf. I'm only 30, and I was sent to many golf camps when I was younger with PGA instructors. and I hated the Snobby richy rich attitude of some of the atmospheres. now later in life I am coming back around.
I never thought I'd subscribe to his channel but the Phil Mickelson challenge was highly entertaining and really gives some new insight on how golfers think and make decisions...even if they were only playing for a couple of thousand- no Venmo or App crap...crisp cash. Lol. Congrats to DeChambeau and this new era of golf with Tiger painfully bowing out.
I’ve always liked Bryson. I’ve been playing golf for 50 years and have always said length was one of the biggest advantages. I always thought why doesn’t one of the long drive guys get on the tour. Now you have Bryson doing exactly what I’ve always thought might happen. I wish him all the best and love watching him play. I just wish I had the ability to get some of that length. It would make the game so much more fun.
I think the people that thought he was weird were those with inflated egos and also this was largely fueled be the golf channel and especially a certain announcer. I'm sure most of us have always appreciated him for his work ethic and creativity. Even after abandoning the tour he still generates enough interest to have some tube followers.
I couldn't stand Dechambeau when he came on the national golf scene and when he first got on tour. The more he's put himself out there on different youtube channels and starting his own the more I've flipped on him. He's genuinely a good dude and really has a lot of passion for the game of golf.
Been saying this for the last 3 years when you saw his true personality on TH-cam. The only haters are the people who only watch the media and are a Brooks fan. Bryson is a great person, changing the game and truly wants to make the world a better place. Haters always going to hate. Bryson is the closet thing we have to Jack, Arnold, Gary Player and all the respected greats.
Absolutely. If I were his production manager I would definitely slide in some of those. It's fun to see him do these challenges but I think a healthy mix of the two would be best.

Mr DeChambeau is probably the bravest person in golf. Doing and trying things out what is out of the norm. The guy is a baus. 💪🏻😎🤘🏻
Sup playa
@@cpreid All well indeed playa. 👍🏻💪🏻😎🤘🏻
Here on the eve of his US open victory
I saw him at the open at royal st georges in 2021. Box office. I would pay hundreds to see him hit the ball. He has charisma oozing from him. Seve and phil are the only other 2 who had that ability of walking in a room of 1000 people and everyone knew they where there. The pga last week was so fun with him competing.
I just started watching his youtube and it's insane how helpful it is to see him and other pros approach different shots. Love it!
Great video. Bryson will continue to be a trailblazer in the golfing world
I think that's what makes TH-cam golf appealing, it's getting to know the real golfer.
the TH-cam golf scene brought me back to golf.
All the best to Bryson, win, win, win for all!
New golfer here. Bryson and grants channel is the only watchable golf channels.
Great video! 👍
love that he does it his own way and is successful
I’ve always liked Bryson. I’ve been playing golf for 50 years and have always said length was one of the biggest advantages. I always thought why doesn’t one of the long drive guys get on the tour. Now you have Bryson doing exactly what I’ve always thought might happen. I wish him all the best and love watching him play. I just wish I had the ability to get some of that length. It would make the game so much more fun.
Spot on, assessment. Love Dechams now. He has chamged the game.. he has made golf accessible.
Bryson is brilliant for the game. His TH-cam channel has opened him up to the masses as a funny, entertaining, articulate person. Good on him 👍
Go Dechambeau go. He is good for people. He over came a media blitz. Solid dude.
Bryson is very hard not to like. Very genuine guy and his TH-cam reflects that
I think the people that thought he was weird were those with inflated egos and also this was largely fueled be the golf channel and especially a certain announcer. I'm sure most of us have always appreciated him for his work ethic and creativity. Even after abandoning the tour he still generates enough interest to have some tube followers.
Awesome video. Subbed!
I couldn't stand Dechambeau when he came on the national golf scene and when he first got on tour. The more he's put himself out there on different youtube channels and starting his own the more I've flipped on him. He's genuinely a good dude and really has a lot of passion for the game of golf.
crazy that a youtuber won a major championship
Been saying this for the last 3 years when you saw his true personality on TH-cam. The only haters are the people who only watch the media and are a Brooks fan. Bryson is a great person, changing the game and truly wants to make the world a better place. Haters always going to hate. Bryson is the closet thing we have to Jack, Arnold, Gary Player and all the respected greats.
Video is going to continue to age like fine wine 🍷 . Go Bryson!
This aged well
I have always loved this dude… he is awesome! Love his game!
Byson is a pure dude! His TH-cam content is top class and his coaching videos are better than 90% of the garbage thats out there.
I genuinely miss his older, more vlog style vids. Would be cool to see some more 'day/week in the life" from him
Absolutely. If I were his production manager I would definitely slide in some of those. It's fun to see him do these challenges but I think a healthy mix of the two would be best.
@@RoluGolf Exactly; just pumping out challenge videos will eventually get repetitive. I feel the same about Bobdoessports; I love their content, but would also love some vids of them just hanging out being 'da bois'.
Anyway my dude, I didn't expect you to see or reply, so wanna take this chance to say I have watched a few of your videos recently and I like your content man. You're doing a great job, keep it up.
Here after the win today! Go Bryson, taking it home for the USA
Rolu, you are amazing! Remember us when you’re famous 😆
Nice piece Sir, I agree with you 🫡
Being new to golf, I had no idea who Bryson was but he was in my feed when I was looking on youtube. Had no idea people didnt even like the guy until he mentioned it on a video to someone else. How could you hate on this dude? Its bc golf culture is like baseball culture, it sucks 🤣🤣 pompous, arrogant gatekeeper's that think tradition trumps innovation just didnt want to see the kid winning. BD is the peoples champ!
Amd now a 2 time major winner
