She was indeed called CID when she cracked how the virus transmitted to the index patient. All main characters are inspired from real life. nurse played by Rima kallingal, is inspired from our Lini sister, a nurse who got infected during attending and caring a patient. She passed away.
No man;I'm from kerala and I believe kollywood is the best film industry in India. It has equal proportion of mass masala and art movies. Kollywood have a huge amount of brilliant directors. Mollywood is a very good industry.But it has a lot to grow

Hence, in the end when her picture was only shown in that meeting, I kinda felt that all the other victims should also have got a similar heroic treatment.
The film not based on any other film... and each and every character are real.... its shows the Nippah virus outbreak in calicut in May 2018.... and how our government took measures to supress the outbreak...... unfortunately we lost 17 lives.... but were able two lives..... Hats off to all the Health professionals in calicut especially the ones of Calicut Medical College........... this is a real life incident and all character are real....... the nurse is lini who passed away leaving behind two children n her husband........... But the next year when the virus resurfaced again not one life was lost......... the govt was prepared.

Sir, you make it sound like this movie is purely a fiction.. for those who don’t know, this movie is based on the Nippah Virus outbreak in Calicut, Kerala last year. It claimed 17 lives and it gripped the state with fear. Medical authorities didn’t know how to handle this highly contagious, deadly illness as there was no awareness of its treatment and prevention. So this movie is a tribute to all the people who were affected by the virus and the heroes who put their lives at risk to deal with the situation efficiently. Nurse Lini, a lady with husband and 2 small kids, exposed herself to the illness to take care of the patients and died due the Nippah infection.In the movie, the character is played by Rima. To make the story cinematic , there are elements of fiction added to it. But overall it is an important and well made movie!
One striking aspect of virus is the casting wehave 9 hero’s who delivered solo hits in last 2 year acted in fairly small but significant roles. Kunjako boban- Various Films Tovino thomas- Various Films Aashik Ali- Various Films Indrajit Sukumaran- Mohanlal, Tiyaan Rajamani- Chalakudikaran Changathi Joju George- Joseph Rahman-Druvangal Pathinaru Soubin Sahir- Sudani from nigeria Indrans - Aalorukkam We have many new directors who made successful movies in last year playing small but significant roles Zackriah- Sudani from Nigeria Basil Joseph- Godha Dileesh Pothan- Maheshinte Prathikaram Soubin Sahir- Parava We also had brilliant female stars performing roles with lot of significance Revathi Parvathy Proornima I dont think any industry can assemble such a cast for a movie of this magnitude. Aashiq Ali you deserve a big hug man!!!
The only thing I found missing in the movie is the mass hysteria BR told about, which happens in this genre monotonously. But it was needed here coz all the Malayalees know how afraid each of us was as soon as we heard about this virus in the news. I guess almost no one in Kerala had fruits for those 1-2 weeks and a small cough by a family member would make us go bonkers. Also, I felt the explanation of the spreading of the virus after the investigations could've been more detailed instead of a fast, hasty manner, just so that everyone could understand it. Rest the movie captured all the emotions, the human angle, and everything possibly related to the epidemic. Also, that political weapon angle was quite intriguing!

I have visited GMC Calicut couple of times for clinical posting. Ashique Abu and Crew has shown exactly what's happening there. I still remember the day, where I watched this movie at INOX, Thrissur. Starting with an impressive introduction the movie ends with a feel showing intensity of incident from which Kozhikode survived. While Stepping out I too had a feel whether we got infected with Nipah. Actually, that incident paved way for Kerala Model of Disease Prevention..... Really a reference work for future film & health aspirants
I watched it yesterday here in Dubai, It was a houseful show. But the theatre was so silent even during the interval break. Felt like most of the people are inside their mind in a different world, thinking what will they do if they are part of this chaos!!!
This guy dint mention that this movie is based on true events. He tried to make this movie an adapted one, but failed miserably. just taking blah blah blah. Its a fantastic movie. Watch out for the release in Netflix

True. Malayalam cinema content is king! They make wonderfully content oriented movies. Acting is subtle and wonderful to watch.
Is it just me or he forgot Nurse Akhila played by Rima Kallingal. She just stood out with her stellar performance.
I thought she didn't have much of a presence in this movie though she played one of the most important character.
