What if they ask for well done?
You firmly, yet politely, ask them to leave.
You know what'd make Online better? Simply having a separate lobby for PVE and PVP. That'd solve so many problems. Make it so you pick which one you want to join at the start before even picking a spawn location. PVE lobbies wouldn't even let you attack another player. No ropeing players, no shooting, no running them over, no blowing them up. But, do the Borderlands thing of letting you opt into a temporary pvp mode against a specific player where you both have to agree. That way you could still get into shootouts with people, hogtie them, get into fist fights, etc, if you both wanted to. Meanwhile...you'd have PVP lobbies where it's a big free for all like it is now, if people want to join that one instead.
I know some people try to use the excuse that "It's the wild west, full of outlaws and junk. Killing each other should be expected"....The problem is, realistically, if this were the REAL 'wild west', not every single person ever would be a murderous outlaw. And the ones that WERE murderous outlaws would be constantly running from the law or having to lay low. There's no consequence for killing another player, so naturally, everyone wants to be a dick and play that way. You can kill a player over and over again for ages, then walk into town and buy some ammo like it's nothing. You don't get in trouble, you don't get locked out of anything, no lawmen come after you, you don't get a bounty. The game just allows you to kill players with no consequence, and it's dumb.
I wouldn't even mind being in public PVP enabled lobbies if there were actual consequences for killing other players. It'd make people think twice before doing it. It'd give people a reason to maybe NOT kill every single person they come across, especially in a town. Maybe make it so the person being killed can put a bounty (any size, entirely up to the player) on the person that killed them. If someone kills me and I get pissed off enough, I want to be able to put a $300 bounty on someone and get the entire lobby coming after them.
