I was 12 in 1960 so I remember the cancel culture that existed in the South. It could only hold onto authority as long as people were intimidated by it. Luckily some heroes spoke up ignoring the cancel culture until they gradually began to dominate and those who enforced cancel culture were canceled. Those who can not defend their positions will always attempt to cancel others.
