Bro i love you and your content l, you are in my top 3 narrators in the world. I tried chilling but imho wasn't worth it to me as 95% of your content ain't there, I did like how you can add different background sound but that was about it. It would be awesome of i liked creepypasta type stories but i only like true stories and especially wilderness related stories camping, hiking, hunting, middle of nowhere and road trips are my favourite, keep up the hard work and excellent stories coming please Joel

Wow so imagine this… You’re at work. It’s a little after 5 AM. You work overnights so you’re alone most of your shift, and spend the time listening to creepy pastas and other scary stories, etc. Earlier you noticed Lets Read posted a new video, so you’ve been listening to it for about two hours now. Suddenly you realize that you are the star of the story that just started. 😳
So that just happened. It is a very surreal experience lol. Anyways, hi guys! It’s me, John Maynard. I’m alive, I’m doing well, and I’m honored to be featured in this video!

My parents actually taught me a song to remember our address if we got lost or had to call 911. I still remember it. They made up a little tune, as much as I can give without using the actual address is the numbers (there were 5) like “da da da da da” and then “and Street Name is my street”- thank goodness I never had to use it, but I still remember it 30 some years later, so it obviously worked.

My parents bought a house in NYC in 1988. In the neighborhood of Snug Harbor. Snug harbor was originally built in 1801 by retired sailors. They built beautiful Victorian style homes in the surrounding neighborhood as well. Our home was completely finished in 1877. I did not believe in ghosts as a child, but boy did that change. I have about 4 stories that are undeniable. 1. My mother was emptying the dish washer and putting the plates and glasses back in the cabinet when all of a sudden the door flew open and all the plates and cups came flying out and breaking on the floor. 2. My brother and I were affected an an early age of sleep paralysis. I would see a witch like creature in my window every time, and she would be laughing at me. It was terrifying especially when your parents think you’re lying for attention ( this was before the plate incident) 3. My father was never one to believe in anything super natural or ghosts or whatever. He still hasn’t told the full story, but that’s the one and only time I saw my dad cry and he was ugly crying, apparently he saw and felt a presence, and his whole body went cold and said it started talking to him. 4. Pictures and things on tables would be moved every morning. Not like “ oh someone bumped into it” my brother and I would both put it back in the right place, numerous items and sure enough the next day they would be moved. No way this was possible. Last but not least, our attic was the source of the bad energy, when you went up there you just felt “ it” well it was a weird layout . Adults could barley stand without hitting their head, and there was like 4 rooms back to back to back, very hard to explain. Anyways on numerous occasions my brother would be found in the farthest room, standing in the corner as far as he could go just staring at the wall not saying anything with his eyes wide open. When we would go get him, and yell his name he wouldn’t respond it wasn’t until me or my mom had to physically touch him and he would “ snap” out of it. He would be a little startled at first and then he would just say “ the lady made me come up here, and was telling me really bad things”. After about the 3rd time of that my parents officially “ believed “ us or had enough proof of their own to at least acknowledge something is not right here and they sold the house.
Friends would refuse to sleep over after they did a few times. We found a bone, a leg bone most likely a tibia in the basement behind a heavy steel door. Remember this was a Victorian Josie built in the 1800’s . So numerous families lived there at a time way before we moved in. It was 100% no doubt about it haunted, some people believe us others call us crazy. But until you’ve lived something like that you’ll never know what it’s like and of course you’ll be skeptical, just pray you never have to question whether or not your house is haunted and your being haunted.

I had to call 911...pretending to call off sick once...after being raped. Good thing the dispatcher had the mind to think that I really DID need 911. I would NOT be here right now. Not too long after I heard sirens from the police. I found out later that the guy that attacked me was a 'person of interest' in 2 other missing people. So pretending to 'call off sick' may have saved me from a serial killer possibly.

I’ve heard that needing sound to fall asleep is a sign of subconscious trauma. Like when people need the Radio on or white noise to sleep. Not all the time- but more often than not, it’s the case that the individual has repressed or is trying to repress trauma, and it’s often childhood trauma.

    • @nokiot9
      @nokiot9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

And I’m not talking about just needing a distraction or entertainment to sleep. I’m talking about an almost pathological need for noise to fall asleep. That without it- the individual presents acute insomnia symptoms. Things from REM block, to restless leg syndrome, bot those are the more extreme examples.

What would even motivate that to such a degree that he's still missing today? were these other relatives even related? Were they apart of something else entirely that was so secret that required both timothy to be gone forever and for his father to never know about it? Why would the mother kill herself if not for even her not wanting to accept what ever this was apart of?

That one story of the kid wandering off, I was the exact opposite. As a very small child I was inexplicably ACUTELY aware of that specific danger. You could not have bribed me to leave my responsible adult with candy nor kittens nor a million dollars. I was convinced if I was out of their sight in any store I'd be snatched and meet a horrible fate. Maybe I had that happen in a former life, who knows. Yeah... Being the boyfriend of someone with children, I can't imagine how someone can be capable of that... Just, taking someone's mother away...
My girlfriend is the kindest, sweetest soul and all of our disagreements - the few that we've had - were very minor. Her presence is like sunshine in the morning with a slight breeze.
Besides God, she is probably the kindest soul I've had to deal with. Her children definitely think the world of her.
When I heard the story about the little 4 year old, I just imagine taking someone like that away from them, basically their whole world...
It made me extremely distraught, which I don't really experience often...

Really wish people would stop saying the Russian hikers didn’t die of an avalanche. We have Frozen, yes the Disney movie, to thank for cracking the case of what happened. That case was closed shut for years.
An avalanche killed them. Sort of. Them being experienced hikers mean nothing. Being an expert in anything that involves you knowing what your doing when you are out in the wild means nothing. Humans aren’t perfect and we make mistakes all the time. 1 mistake is all it takes to lose your life out in the wild.
They set up camp on uneven ground, thanks to the snow and ice, as well as the location, it looked even. When they did what you are supposed to do when our hiking and going to camp out next to a snow covered mountain, carving and digging snow out from the side, they created the perfect conditions for an avalanche to happen. Except, they weren’t sleeping under snow. They were sleeping under extremely thick ice that was just waiting to fall because they dug out from under it. Which is what you are supposed to do, when it’s only snow. But they didn’t know that under what little actual snow there was was just inches upon inches of ice. That night, while sleeping, powerful winds came and caused a crap load of ice to break off and fall on them while sleeping. This event that happened easily explains the damage they got from something that hit them hard in their internal injuries as well as the panic that they went through, because an ice avalanche doesn’t burry you like snow. It explains why some left without shoes and clothes, why the camp wasn’t buried, etc. The coding for the snow and ice in the movie Frozen is what allowed them to simulate what happened. As for why the bodies where all over the place. The ones who were the least equipped to go and try to get help or find shelter stayed behind and tried to start a fire, while some went back and failing to find the camp to get more stuff. As to why some were stripped of clothes, the advanced stages of hypothermia is feeling extremely hot so you take your clothes off. And why some where missing their tongues and eyes, animals. Animals are scavengers first, hunters second, and they like quick easy food. The eyes and tongues would of been the least frozen and the easiest to eat.
The Russian government was not the ones who discovered this. But they also never closed the case and kept looking into it. So for those who said they just didn’t care don’t know the details and are just spreading the same misinformation. The Russian government was happy to finally get some answers as to what happened to those hikers and have since closed it as a tragic accident.
Because it was. As I said before, your experience really doesn’t matter that much because it only takes 1 mistake to end your life. Humans don’t become perfect creatures that never make mistakes in a filed we are experts in. Even experts never stop learning and a real expert will say that they don’t know everything. They just know a great deal more than the average Joe.

It just received my copy of 1079. Written by Igor Pavlov and Teodora Hadjiyska. Published in 2021. In my opinion, it's one best book of compiled information on Dyatlov pass. Teodora was also featured on Josh Gate's, Expedition Unknown. If Dyatlov pass is something you are interested in I recommend this book.

@@miketobias1821 Honestly I'm not sure. I don't believe it was an avalanche or aliens.I do believe that a lot of information was left out on purpose. The pass has been closed off and on for years. A logical reason is never given as to why.

I wish the Internet would focus on genuine mysteries and quit fixating on the Dyatlov Pass nonsense. Everything can be rationally explained by stuff like paradoxical undressing or scavengers eating the softest bits (like tongues). Everything except the radiation. Which, coincidentally, does not appear in the earliest reports. Meaning it's bullshit that got tacked onto the story later. Reminds me of the Flannan Isles Lighthouse "mystery". Everything indicates they just got swept out to sea by a big wave, except for these journal entries talking all kinds of paranormal bullshit. Because, surprise surprise, the journal stuff was bullshit that got tacked on later.
Instead, for example, look at the Yuba County Five. Unlike the Dyatlov pass, that's an ACTUAL mystery.
