Officer who arrested Scottie Scheffler allegedly violated departmental policy

- Pro-golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested on May 17th outside of Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville after he allegedly failed to stop and follow officers' directions as he attempted to drive into the golf club to participate in the PGA Championship.
However, Louisville Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel said Detective Bryan Gillis violated departmental policy by not activating his body-worn camera when engaging Scheffler.

When it's in his favor to do so, the penalty for an officer to freely turn his camera off is too light and far cheaper than showing a lawless act. Lastly, does the mayor covet an opportunity to gain national attention? Does either one or both address your original question?
No body camera then dismiss the charges. Officer was out of line.
so listen to talk on you tube and convict the cop but if its not on video let the criminal go? but it did show him driving around the buses waiting to enter, like driving in the emergency lane, and it show him driving down a raod that wasnt to be used,

Cop jumps on moving car for no reason at all, cop then charges assault on a police officer. Traffic infractions should not required the driver to be placed under arrest. Nor does it allow a traffic cop to jump on your car.

Not only no body cams, but many cop cars facing Scotty's car and only one cam from a cop car? The whole department is crooked. Wow! All those cop cars have cams rolling 24/7 there's no turning those cameras off. Where are all those videos?

A big misunderstanding? This guy is to nice. It’s a other police misconduct with false allegations. I think camera was on but shows that the cop is lying and for this reason now they claim no footage. This cop would just ruin a other regular guys life with this allegations, but Scheffler has all the money in the world to defend himself. Hope he sues this cop and the Police Department.

the "Officer" committed false arrest, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, mis-malfeasance, falsifying charges, falsifying government documents, deprivation of rights; the "Officer" is also the sole cause if 95% of his injuries latching onto a moving automobile when he could have (being an accident scene recreation expert) instead pounded on the hood or trunk to get the driver's attention...
the Prosecutor is also REQUIRED to disclose exculpatory evidence, AND prosecute the "Officer" if there is evidence of the "Officers" wrong doing...
If there is any true Justice the "Officer" should not be being treated as thought everything he did was lawful, and everything Scottie did was unlawful...🤔
the guy basically drove down the emergency lane until he was stopped. then drove off down a road he wasnt allowed. lame man terms. he ran a roadblock.

The officer was wrong and he knows it along with the other officers there, at least one or all of them should've had their body cams on.
yes they should direct traffic in the rain and not cover them selves to keep dry to protect all their equipment, but one rich white guy had to be a clown.

I thought tackling cars was normal for police dogs... oh it was a cop not a dog... why is a guy tackling cars? How does jumping on cars stop ppl from getting hit by cars... seems rather counter intuitive.
From what i can see Its a case of a first responder emergency that turned into a death investagation. Mr. Scheffler chose to continue to move his car and he could not hear the officer commands. Emergency lights were on. The accident turned into death invertigation the same minute Mr. Scheffler was there. I would issue a ticket , pay a fine and time served. Al respect to the family of the decesed.

so did he or did he not run a roadblock. thats what is the story, if the cops out in the rain wasnt wearing a camera, that doesn't make running a roadblock less of a crime.
I hope the Louisville PD union follows up on this ridiculous situation. Drop the charges if you want, but don't blame the officer who was just trying safely manage a potential crime scene.
this wasnt the scene, it was where the traffic was told to use to gp around the scene, IE secondary entrance, and he basiclly drove down the emergency lane to by pass the bus traffic, and got caught. then he took off down another road. that wasnt an entrance. they are so confused from getting their info off the net. explain the news cast in 10 words or less.

the pole video shows the yellow-vested detective intentionally striking the vehicle with his hand or wrist as the vehicle was braking and already coming to a stop.. unless my lying eyes are deceiving.. it's plain as day in the video
