Hiii! That lampshade was the greatest! Brought me back to sleepovers at my granny’s home! Wish my thrift shops sold awesome materials ! Thank you for sharing your ideas and tricks and new ways to craft😊

Been a while since I watched your amazing videoa ,you never cease to amaze me. I absolutely love learning from you, the lamp was amazing, the fabric and colours wouldn't be my choice but, I still fell in love with your technique, also it looked and blended so perfect in your craft room. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talents.x
Love love love that lamp base! And for free, wow. And what a creative thing to do with the lampshade. It's SO hard to find lampshades these days. Movers tore all mine, I'm going to put on my thinking cap. Mine aren't pleated, but .... Great ideas, thanks!
Wouldn't a heat press work better? You have such creative ideas. I am impressed by how you can look at things and see them in a different way. I am building my own shop at the moment. I have gotten back into crafting over the last couple of years and its too much for my house, so we have cleaned out a barn shed and turning it into a shop, Im very excited. I am nervous about the idea of doing videos, but my daughter said I need to share my ideas. So hopefully I will be able to do that. Your videos are very enjoyable to watch, you do a great job.
Absolutely love the accordion lamp shade! Don't care for the trim though.I would have added some wooden beads instead. I feel it's more 60's than 70's.
@@OurUpcycledLifeThe pompous make it truly groovy! I’ve been looking for a barrel lampshade like that since I first saw you do this. The only one I’ve found was plastic and crumbling away. I’m determined to keep looking! I’m glad this was included because yesterday my cats knocked my antique floor lamp so it was leaning, and now my brand new, more than I wanted to spend lamp shade has a big scorch! I’ll be looking for fabric tomorrow! The lamp is one of those that needs the big incandescent bulb with the extra large diameter base. Every time one burns out, I keep them. It seems like they could be made into something clever. Any ideas?
I like your projects very much. In particular I love the faux batik. My mind is flying through the possibilities. Thanks so much for your generous sharing.
I have a suggestion. It would be nice to see just in the beginning what the craft results are in the video. An alternate would be to have a minute list showing a point where a new craft project starts. When videos like this one are very long, they have some craft ideas I would like to try, but some I personally find too "crafty" and would never do. Also, being a crafter myself, I have tried and done everything in this video already 20+ years ago exept that flour paste craft. With today's busy life, many of us do not have an extra hour to devote to watching. Before I start watching a video, I always check how long it is. If it is long, I simply do not spend my time hoping I will see something worth trying. Hence, the creator does not get any credit that the alcorhythm requires. Some crafters might have just one "pearl" among too many juvenile ideas I would never exhibit in my home or give as gifts, etc. This is just a suggestion that could benefit the creator and the viever. I liked that idea of using the flour paste, then use the paint. I have been looking for ideas to create a large picture for my wall. The subdued brownish fabric is just fitting to my Scandinavian streamlined taste. It got my creative juices flow. I thought first to use single color in abstract shapes. But then I got an idea to make at least 5-6 feet fabric piece. Then draw to it some scenery like stylized trees, small hills, some shapes like vawes on a lake, perhaps birds flying in the sky, etc. Not to make any defined shapes, just a stylized idea of them. Then use muted colors, green, bluish, brownish, etc. After the paint dries, use the same colors in a pale, watered form to paint over the shapes with according colors. Thanks for getting my creative juices going!🙂
I loved all your fabric DIYs,! But the lamp shade is so awesome. Can’t wait to thrift a pleated lamp shade to try this technique. You are the best crafter on TH-cam!😀❤️👍🏻
I love all your shows and your craft room is awesome! If you’ve ever done a full room craft room video, I’d love to be tagged in it. Keep up the awesomeness that you do. Thank you for so much inspiration. ♥️
This is definitely not my style. Harvest Gold and Olive Green--no thank you. I lived through it once and do not need to do it again. Your execution of the project was quote nice, however. Your directions were well thought out and easy to follow. I plan to make several of your projects, like the ribbon, the transfers and printing just to name three. Thank you.
Just watched this video. I love the fabric painting with flour. I was wondering if this can be used on outdoor projects. Will the paint hold up to moisture?
The cabinet with the fabric top is so cute! I would have turned it upside down then cut the edges of the fabric with the knife. (My hands are not as steady as yours, & I'm a little accident prone).
I would suggest using T shirt transfers that are available in office supply stores. It’s very similar to her technique but the base layer is plastic. Have fun!

Great tutorial thank you for sharing your talents
You are so welcome
I LOVE the fabric design and it's use on the lamp! ❤️ Question: does the heat from the light bulb melt the Mod Podge?
No not at all
Absolutely awesome!
Glad you like it!
For the table top you could have actually just sanded the edges going downward and it would have completely taken the fabric off.
Nice tutorial video!! So many fun projects🎉
Thank you 🤗
WOW so amazing the things and textures you make is mind blowing. I love them all.😊🧡💛💯💯👍
Thank you so much 😀

I really like the cards! That's a wonderful idea.

It didn't need the fringe it was beautiful without it
I wanted something fun for my craft room ❤️

Yes, but that's 70s actual pompom fringe! ;) I have the poncho to prove it.

Love the pleated lampshade👏👏👏👏
Very awesome like your ideas thank you
Glad you like them!
Hello, that was an excellent tutorial, really well executed. I really enjoyed it thank you 💞💞💞
You’re welcome 😊
This is batik. But you used flour instead of wax . That gives a new charm
That's what I was thinking too! I wonder how it washes? Does it bleed? (quilter here) I want to try this and incorporate in a quilt!
I didn’t find my bled much but worth experimenting
So fun
S U P E R. V I D E O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use mod podge or polyurethane sealer on the fabric to make the ink permanent
Either will seal
What do you mean - Your shade is a little bit of an angle? Does that mean the bottom and the top are different diameters?
Yes
I agree the fringe wasn't needed.
Self rising flour? Or does it matter?
Does not matter
Can I use any kind of printer for this
Yes you can

Thanks for watching! Great video editing tip
First time here, watched until the end. Enjoyed your tutorial!
So glad you found me! Love new crafting friends. Hope you find lots of great content
Lose the fringe it makes it cheesy looking😅
It's pronounced day-coupage. I love your videos otherwise!
Staying around for 3 ADS? No thank you
I love all your ideas ❤
Thanks 😊
That lampshade is really far out!!! I am really digging it! Would that technique work on a flat, unpleated lampshade?
Yes it does!
Oh Deidre, you've outdone yourself on the lampshade. Absolutely fantastic. ❤ Much love from Texas ♥️🤠
Thank you so much!

Awesome techniques! Love the “Partridge family” lamp. Very retro. Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love them!!❤❤❤ Soo amazed by the Lampshade!!!
Thanks 😊
I do love your choice of colours, textures and styles in your craft room. Love your tutorials.❤
Glad you like them!
Printing on CD carrier sheets segment: I just use Iron on sheets, less time, less mess and you can use an inkjet printer.
Can't watch anymore of this with the sound on. DEE-coupage? What happened to DEC-oupage?
The lampshade and DIY batik are my favorites. I can’t wait to incorporate them into my own projects and space! Thank you.
Wonderful!
The lamp is very 70’s but the material was perfect for that shade. Turned out beautiful. Loved the transfers you used. Thanks for the lessons.
You are so welcome!
But what do you do with batik? Just hang on line?
I would wonder how to dispose of the flour-y water.
NO! NO! NO!
That lampshade was fabulous and the green trim took the shade from both funky fun and sleek fabulous, AND MADE IT FUGLY!
I wanted something funky and fun for my craft room

Just watched this video. I love the fabric painting with flour. I was wondering if this can be used on outdoor projects. Will the paint hold up to moisture?
I have not used on anything exposed to the elements so unsure how durable
You’ve gone too far…no fringe is needed
The cabinet with the fabric top is so cute! I would have turned it upside down then cut the edges of the fabric with the knife. (My hands are not as steady as yours, & I'm a little accident prone).
Glad you enjoyed
For the printed fabric, I find it easier to iron the fabric to the shiny side of freezer paper, no spray adhesive needed, and it peels right off
Yes, that can work sometimes but I do find if you’re not using a good quality wax paper it doesn’t adhere very well
I've learned sooo much from this video!!! Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
I really like the lampshade technique. Not a fan of the 70's fabric. 😊😊
Glad it was helpful
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for these tutorials
Once finished is the flour one washable?😊
Yes 😊
The technique is very interesting. Can see it coordinating a guest ro with linens.
Yes❤️
whoa! 😮 so very cool! i’ve got to try this for my crafts! tfs!😊
Have fun!
Question can you use regular polyurethane for this project?
If it’s not water based it will yellow over time
Is this technique washable? Can you make it to quilt with?
Not washable
Great projects. I thought the lampshade was perfect before you added the fringe.
Great ideas, thanks for sharing. Are the graphic transfers on cloth washable?
I've been trying to find a method to transfer a photo to a Jean jacket.
I would suggest using T shirt transfers that are available in office supply stores. It’s very similar to her technique but the base layer is plastic. Have fun!
No, these are not washable
I think it would be beautiful to spray paint the basket black and destress it too.
Would a fat quarter work for decoupage?
Yes, it certainly would. Thanks for watching.
mam please I watch book stand thank you
Thanks
What type fabric are you printing on?
Just a cotton blend
ab
Fantastic video as usual
Thanks again!
