God i love my ST. Just got a ‘16 ST2, traded my 2019 frontier SL 4x4 for it. Carmax gave me 26k for it!! I looked at the frs and later toyota 86’s as well but this car is still somewhat of a family car with 4 doors and a big “boot” so it has zero issues with carseats and luggage and the like. After that realization I pretty much had my heart set on a newish ST so i found the only good one within a 200 mile radius and jumped on it. I’m happy the previous owner installed some (rather pricey) goodies for me, it has a very good front mount intercooler, radium oil catch can, AWE “track edition” catback exhaust, and some (very pricey) carbon fiber interior bits including the steering wheel which I’m in love with! I’ve never been a Ford fan but i also don’t play the whole fanboy game, this car just checked all the boxes. Way better mpg than the truck, actually larger back seats, much quicker and obviously funner to drive but in a different way. Overall i’m VERY impressed with this car, but only time will tell if it can be as reliable and durable as the Nissan was.
Fun fact, you can actually swap front ends (bumper, headlights, and hood) between the two generations quite easily. (The fenders line up with both front ends)
‘13 FoST with Tangerine Scream paint. Not my idea but it was on the car and the only new one I could find. Awkward at funerals but people on the street see you and hopefully don’t pullout in front of you. Still driving it in 2023.
I have yet to hear a 4 cylinder anything that made me genuinely feel excitement, smile, surprise or make me feel intimidated. However these little cars are nimble and zippy. I do prefer the Focus ST look to a civic any day of the week and twice on sunday.
This guy grabbed my attention when he tried describing the turbo sound, but mostly when he was telling us about the GREEN (wherever they got that name from) air filter.... lmao.
For anyone with a 2018 Ford Focus ST, make sure you order 13.2 inch or 335MM rotors for the front when doing a brake job. 12.6 inch is for earlier than 2014. You are welcome! lol
Its a good tip..because even the auto parts stores are unaware of this. This caused me to be stranded at a race track 4 hours away one weekend because they sold me the wrong brackets/calipers when mine melted on the track (long story). I argued and finally got my money back and then some when i contacted corporate to complain about their system being wrong. 12-2014.5 basically were a smaller rotor/bracket, then 2014.5 and up through 2018 had the larger brake rotors. The stores parts systems will basically say 2012+ on all the parts lol
im sorry if you think it needs to be louder just get a faster car xD. I have the track exhaust and its quiet at idle, and screams under throttle with that beautiful turbo rasp (almost like a 5 cylinder audi) these things straight piped sound like ass compared to the genuine exhausts they offer... you also get natural pops

You American folk got robbed on ST3 - In the UK The ST3 is only one that came with headlight washers. Where you could spec the ST2 with the "full leather pack"
How do you help reduce the drone in the cabin when on the highway or going around 2500 rpm to 3000rpm? I have a AWE cat back exhaust on my Focus ST and the drone is pretty bad.
Yes, sir you are correct. I also have a ST3 and the Sony is absolute garbage. 500 watts? Ha! Maybe for a second when lightning strikes it. I rarely even turn it on it sounds so bad. I’d rather listen to the wind or the car. Even static sounds better than that crap!
Maybe if you’d tune the eq right it would sound a lot better lol. you just won’t have super loud volume but it’ll make it sound good, not perfect but way better. mine has nice lows and good high just tune the mids out a bit raise the base some and the treble, spotify eq helps a little too, and sound deadening helped a ton. and the sync 3 is way better than sync 2 also. and poly fill the sub and doors, it’s not the best but makes it sound much better than stock

I thought about this, but imo i like my PFL. Has more character imo. The FLs look too much like a fusion for me.

max boost 16.4. why does mine max like 23 ish. is my motor gonna blow up lolll
The lower boost was due to heat soaking! My newer tune puts me at close to 24-25 psi.
