I think kreanga's one was more suited for far from table play with the old smaller ball, but with the new ball and new trends more player's are playing closer to the table with faster more compact backhands rather than massive strokes. Kreanga's is more powerful but FZD's is more suited to modern game with better counter and flick and still incredible power from mid-distance
Fzd has tenergy05 on his back side. But you can do this technique with whatever pimples in hard rubber, i believe. Different rubbers is like the question of comfort for amateurs. -+5% speed, spin, control or any other parameter don’t really matter in non-pro level, imo. Also i think, it is barely possible to reach fzd’s speed w/o training every day, so as his backhand technique. Every time i try something like this, i realise, that i cannot perform this in games, bc u start lacking energy too fast, and your muscles can not handle the stress. Its like trying to run 5km distance in wr tempo - you’ll just die at first kilometre.

I liked FAN until I saw a video of him in the practicehalln Sweden ignore a player on the next table that collapsed due to illness did not care at all just had a look and kept practicing very inhumane and cold hearted. Great player yes but can't say the same for him as a person in general. People admire sports heroes often ignoring their bad personality . Like George Best great English footballer but a drunken womaniser. Not a role model
Can you link us the video? Also, to be fair, Fan Zhendong's job there at the practice hall was to train and prepare for his upcoming match. I am sure Team Sweden would have taken care of their own athletes if that were to happen, why does it fall upon FZD to negatively impact his own preparation to look after someone else when it is not his job nor position to do so?

Fan's backhand is so strong he seldom step around. Ma Long, on the other hand, step around a lot because he mostly relies on forehand to score.
