Now how does binding work with variables? Let's say I want to change the selected item of a ComboBox. I was thinking of creating a variable called "selectedItem", bind it to the ComboBox and adjust the variable.

how can I bind a StringProperty with a double? For example I have a label and I want to bind the textproperty with the value property of a slider?
