I still watch every video Gabe and always leave a like. The best travel story telling vlogger on the net ❤️
I can't keep up, I still follow but only watch one of his videos once in a while
He is the OG travel blogger!!
@@johnl805CA True but a video a day is overkill. One good quality video every 1-2 weeks is about right. I seriously don't have time to watch a guy walking and talking about rather trivial topics every day. The market is very saturated with travel TH-camrs so I can afford to be very picky with what I watch. Having said all that Gabriel does provide good info on various destinations but more and more it's same old countries with nothing new.
Couldn't agree more with you, I love his story telling and his consistency👌
I love how he just walks around, simply films everything and provides basic commentary. This is exactly how I like to explore new places and his videos are simple yet helpful and entertaining. He is the OG.
Thanks for all the awesome content in 2024! Happy Holidays and looking forward to watching your videos in 2025!!
Amazing, thanks a lot, much appreciated. Happy Holidays, have a great 2025. ✌️🍺😊
@ You are more than welcome! Safe and fun travels!!!
Hi Gabriel,
You’re staying in the tourist area of Mazatlán. I think you would much prefer the Centro Histórico. Hop on the big green bus heading south and get off at the market. From there you can explore the historical center of Mazatlán, go to Olas Altas, climb the Faro, and take a water taxi to stone island.
Have fun!
That is definitely the plan, looking forward to getting down there and seeing the old town.
Dude, you’re music never disappoints. Great vibes. I wish other travel vloggers would incorporate a more eclectic mix of music like you do
I have now lived in Mazatlan now for 1.5 years and love it
Greetings from England. Great to see you back on your travels again, you’ve inspired us to travel and explore the world 🌎
Mazatlan made me fall in love with Mexico!
Same here! Mazatlan and La Paz.
Those days of “Cheap Mexico” are way over, my last living in Mexico was over by Fall 2005. I crossed over in Tijuana, where I had a Sentry Card, with three scan points and
no waiting; at least from 5 AM to 2 PM. I had been sharing a two bedroom rental for $175;
my share of the Renta per month..In Summer of 2005, the Cartel was Not yet dominant in
Tijuana; La Frontera: The Border, and I could have a killer meal for ten bucks US..
I went to Mazatlan in 1979 and loved it. Camped on the beach and had the best shrimp tacos ever. You have to go to Isla de las piedras.
I love Mexico enjoy your time take some r&r
@ you're odd
Mexico is raw. I dig it.
Expensive tacos. Never been to Mazatlan. Looking forward to more videos from Mexico.
In Croatia now. Dubrovnik. Next stop from here is Kotor Montenegro and then onto Shkodor Albania.
Watching your videos from this area as well.
Happy New Year.
Hey Gabe! Glad you took me up on my suggestion to go to Mazatlan. Make sure you visit the restored colonial area. After 2 days, hop on the ferry to La Paz where just south is THE MOST amazing beach in North America. Cut across to Todos Santos then cut back across to Loreto then the five beaches just south of Mulege. Mulege is an amazing oasis town on the gulf of California.
I actually went to most of those places a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/OhtciZeawWc/w-d-xo.html I will definitely get down to the old town of Mazatlan to check it out. ✌️🍺
Happy new year Gabe, keep the wonderful and amazing clips rolling. All the very best for 2025! 😃✌🏻👍🏻
Thanks and same to you, have a great year, cheers. ✌️🍺
Still a budget trip but more expensive than i’d think. Japan on the other hand was way cheaper than i expected.
Hi Gabriel thank you so much for taking us on awesome adventures. Love your authenticity and effort 🙂
Thank you so much for putting the effort and these videos to give us the information of these destinations thank you 🙏😊👍
Good stuff Gabriel! Heading back to Sayulita for 4 weeks next week for a month. I'm staying at Longboard Heaven which you would have passed walking to the plaza each day. You also passed by my fav breakfast spot on your walk to the bus. At about 4:10 on the right you can see the two sisters on the right serving up delicious birra tacos and the obligatory consommé!! Thanks for the very up-to-date images from Sayu, looks like they've painted around the bridge and done some other clean up. Safe travels.
your best at this gabe
Thanks Gabriel, very informative and glad you made it in one piece!
I think I was in several pieces by the time I arrived, but managed to put myself back together, so it all worked out.
I think the greater Puerto Vallarta area is expensive because its popular with gringos. Mazatlan is more popular with Canadians. I think the key to Mexico is stay off the gringo trail.
What's a gringo?
@@Lorraine-p4r Perhaps I didn't use the right term. I'm referring to areas frequented/popular with people from the US. It tends to drive prices up. Most real estate in PV is even advertised in USD.
@@Lorraine-p4rgoogle it, lady
Gringo that is how Mexicans call the U.S.A citizens
@marthapineda5395 Also, Canadians and European touristas
Gabe! The colonial downtown area in Mazatlan is really interesting. Authentic market and the Malacon of the older part of Mazatlan is funky but really nice. Be sure to take the little launch across the harbor to Isla de las Piedras. There are no cars there and no high rise buildings! What you will find there is a beautiful beach and a strip of family-run BBQ fish restaurants. Great place to spend an afternoon!
It was another adventurous journey, but you managed it with clarity,as always.😊Take care,Gabriel👍
I felt tired from your long journey, 😂but the tacos looked delicious at the end of the video 🍻
That evening sunset 🌅 against the hills ! I’m sure the stars are neat to watch !
Love that you show your transit journeys. What a shame it was so cold on the bus, would have been very uncomfortable. The prices seem reasonable to me but have never travelled there to compare old prices. Prices seem to be going up everywhere. Really enjoying your Mexico series. Lovely towns and beaches. Thank you.❤
I Watch every video because you are the best blogger my favorite
I’m currently in Puerto Vallarta, I’ve seen some of your videos for info and ideas . Everything is doing great so far. Thanks and happy new year!

It would really be funny, if it were true. 😂
@VickyMaldonado-y4l it's true actually
@@jackricard8003 show us some proof, Ricard. 🙄
Admit it. You stayed at a different place.
Very cool. It worked but not my favorite room, no wifi and a bit dark. But I like the traditional Mexican decor of the place and the location was great, close to the square but quiet.
Well done!
Take care of yourself. Cheers from berlin to Hamburg train now😅. Happy new year 🎉!
are you going to Warszawa afterwards ?
@Andrij_Kozak nope. I'm working near Hamburg. Itzehoe bro
Another great video Gabe!
Totally hear you on the AC. So many places are like this, where just opening a window or just leaving it the way it is would be ideal, but instead they blast the AC to all hell. Just left Thailand and it was a daily occurrence there.
Rollin ✌
All along the beach pueblos are expensive. I’ve stayed inland in Morelia Michoacan where I only paid $15 per night. Also go to the local traditional grocery mercados they are much cheaper than the fancy indoor grocery stores. You can buy a whole sack of avocados for $2 dollars and groceries are fresh harvested from the day locally grown.
So happy you’re in Mexico 🎉🎉🎉
"Quite an adventure" 🌊🌞
Thanks for all your Videos Gabe.
I really appreciate it when you mention the date and what the temperature is when you shoot your videos.
Any plans on heading to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo during your stay in Mexico
We are heading there on Jan 23, 2025 and returning to Canada on Feb 20, 2025
Hope to meet you there, if you can make it.
Glad you're enjoying the vids. I don't think I will visit Zihua again this time, I was there a few years ago: www.youtube.com/@GabrielTravelerVideos/search?query=Zihua Have a great trip. 😎✌️
I've never experienced it ...but what is the feeling Mr Traveler, when you are 4 days away from a brand new year in January , yet the weather is Springlike and all of the Flora is in full bloom ? It must be quite a feeling ? Best wishes for 2025.
I was in Sayulita, San Pancho, Nayarit Beaches, etc. over ten years ago. Sure, it wasn't the 1990s, but it was still pretty cheap, not very crowded, and not super blown up yet. I've heard that area is very expensive now and not as nice as it used to be.
Zona Dorada( Golden Zone) is the touristy part of the city. Few things to add, it's kitschy but Mazatlan offers a sort of version of tuk tuks called Pulmonia, they go down the malecon. Playa Norte offers beachside restaurants, other have mentioned Historico and Olas Altas.
The water temp is only around 75F, so not really swimming type this time of the year plus the "loud" banda playing on the beach.
Pronounced phonetically Te PEEK. In Mexico the holidays span from Nochebuena (Christmas eve) through Jan. 1.
Hi Gabriel, you took the old cruise route of the love boat Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco then Mazatlán, and back to the U.S. Come aboard exciting and new, we are expecting you the Love Boat. No doubt prices are higher during the holidays, that's the case anywhere.
Food prices don't change for the holidays, feller .
Man the bus stop reminds me traveling from CDMX to Guerrero on the red eye bus took 8 hours or so. To visit my grandma. But those buses are comfortable
Nice one,
Thanks for sharing,

🎉🎉🎉
Man, you can always ask the driver to turn it off the AC, they tend to forget. I use to do many trips Vallarta-Guadalajara and was always the same
The driver will laugh at you and send you back to your seat
@VolkerHelmich Nah
@@jcasstudio I don't want to be humiliated by an autobus driver 🤔

Hello Gabriel
I am from India. I am here to inform you that we will celebrate Mahakumbh Mela from 13 January to 26 February in 2025 at Prayagraj (Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh.
Information about Mahakumbh Mela:- Kumbh Mela is a major pilgrimage and festival in Hinduism. It is celebrated in a cycle of 12 years.
Attraction during Kumbh mela:-
1) It hold world record for largest peaceful gathering of people at one place.
2) Lot of sect of hinduism gathers here .
3) Peshwai (Praveshai)
4) Laser show and riding on a boat etc..
Note:- Kumbh Mela is part of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
I hope you will visit here.
Thank you❤
It sounds incredible. I visited the Magh Mela in Allahabad in 2000 and it was quite an experience, more than a million people there. But the Kumbha Mela will be much larger. Not sure if I will go this year, we'll see.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos
"We will see" means after 12 years.
@@RajneeshSingh-i5t Not necessarily, I make travel decisions very spontaneously so could decide to go suddenly. And even if I missed it in 2025, there will be another one four years later, not as big but still big enough.

There were busses in Sayulita that only stopped out at the highway
We are heading there in 2 weeks, for a month.
I used to go to Rosarito beach Mexico back in the 90's 50 cent street tacos
1997, cartel battles w Federales in Enseñada
Had to laugh at the choice of hotel in the tourist zone. The malacon south of you has choices in the 500/600 peso range. I was just in Mazatlan and stayed at the Hotel Belmar a grand tired old hotel right on Olas altas price was 900 pesos. It is a fabulous location just a short walk to Plaza machado and the downtown core. No trinket sellers is this part of the malacon.
Nice one 👍 Thanks for sharing and Happy new 2025 year 🎉
You’re staying in the wrong part of town. You need to be in Centro for a quieter vibe. Visit the markets, the lighthouse, Stine Island. Catch the tourist bus along the coast to Cerritos for nicer beaches.

Hi Gabriel, always love watching your travels!! When are you going to Brazil?? 🇧🇷
I like bus videos since I'm a fan of the bus, as compared to planes. Especially when you can get the whole seat to yourself. Next time make sure you take some blanket into the bus.
Or ask the driver to turn down the AC
Nice video as usual! I notice you mostly wear open toes sandals. Any brand you recommend? Last few I buy just fall apart after minimal use. Thanks😊
Teva or Chaco.
Tepic always seems to be the only option for direct buses. AC is a pain for me. I would much rather be a bit warm that a lot cold. I just don't get it.
I wish I was in Mexico. Too much rain in Toronto. I have been to Cancun and Los Cabos.
Just go to Oshawa and have a few pints
👍👍👍
I stayed in Guanajuato city last year for 20 dollars a night.. and see what 70 dollars a night gets one in Pasadena California
My favorite Mexican city: th-cam.com/video/ATbH8844IPQ/w-d-xo.html
"70 bucks a night, about the same as the US"!!!! Gabriel, have you looked at US hotel prices lately? I wanted to go to New York for 3 nights at New Year, had no flexibility on dates, a c****y 3 star hotel in Manhattan was charging $500 per night! Its crazy! Yes it was New Year but any other time you're still paying 300 per night😮 I cancelled my trip!
That's NYC, lots of places in the US you can still get hotel rooms for around $70-100. But yes the popular places like NY, Florida, Hawaii etc are getting ridiculously expensive.
nice video !
Hahaa… it’s 25 minutes long & only came out 10 minutes ago
Brother come to stone island call uber get over here and relax with us for the day
Why not just take the water taxi across faster and cheaper
I assume that if you watched anything on television if you had a TV in the room for $78 dollars they did not broadcast anything in english?? It was all in spanish right??

@@UffeUlferts there are rain days ya know? days when ya don't feel to well from maybe drinking the high quality H2O?? Lol's

Great comment
Yes, sadly Mexico is no longer the cheap destination. This is caused by tourists who will pay whatever they are asked and screw it up for the economy travelers. Same here in Cardona Goa. It is so expensive I'm sorry I came. 5x the prices of Mumbai. If you go to Merida, Yucatan you can stay in my big house for free.
Gringos have been coming to Mexico for vacations for 80 years. Why suddenly are the restaurant prices so high?
@@VolkerHelmich I think it's just that their economy is moving up and up. And it's the kind of thing, that starts out slower and then speeds up. So the prices get higher.
My breakfast today in a cafe in Chetumal was over 200 pesos and I didn't even order a fancy coffee. This was also a locals restaurants, not for tourists. I've had cheaper meals/breakfasts in the United Kingdom at a Wetherspoons restaurant/pub. Its a bit strange to be paying $6-10 dollars for a plate of food in a country thatvhas wages/salaries nowhere even close to the level that the UK does! Now, lets be fair in some remote rural breakfast spot in the US yoou could probably still order a plate pf breakfast for $8-10, so to be paying smalltown US prices for a bfast in Mexico is a bit crazy! @VolkerHelmich
@@rob3774 200 pesos that is like USD $10 That is expensive and not much to see in Chetumal either.

@@gerry9306 I saw that video. I forget what the final result was, did they make it to Mazatlan? I don't remember any major drama. But maybe I missed something.
@GabrielTravelerVideos They were supposed to be in Culiacán for a few days, but the Sinaloa episodes end abruptly after Bald arrives at his hotel the very first day. There was no further mention of the trip. Some speculate that the Sinaloa cartel told them to leave. It was strange that they went to this area and behaved as though they were at Disneyland. The 2020 plague enabled, companies worldwide small and large to raise prices just because they could. Mexico still has better consumer protection laws than we have in the US where there are none.
More supply and demand than anything. Increased demand for various things, less supply because of supply chain and shipping issues. This means inflation and prices go up.
Nonsense. Food costs in Mexico have not increased so much in comparison to restaurant menu pricing. @churchofbrap876
