For all those people with their comments about listening to a cd instead of a vinyl record: spinning and listening to a vinyl record is also an experience of taking care of the record and taking it out of a big sleeve with big pictures and text and putting it gently on your record player. Instead of taking a round piece of plastic out of a plastic case, slamming it in the cd player and looking at small pictures and text with a magnifying glass. And yes, i play records as well as cd's. I cannot afford a record player that comes close to the sound of my cd players and still i enjoy spinning vinyl......
I agree, playing a vinyl record is a great experience. I enjoy it a lot, but I also enjoy playing my cassettes because a good recording played on a good cassette deck is also great. @@HiFiImmersion happy to oblige. I'm a recording, mixing and mastering engineer with four decades experience so I'm very sensitive to any anomalies. What I'm hearing is some resonance and unevenness in the frequency response in the range I mentioned. It really sounds to me to be most likely a combination of room modes and mic placement causing a small amount of comb filtering. It isn't a major issue and I don't think it is an inadequacy in the speakers, microphones, turntable or signal chain. I think you'd find moving the mics would alter the results but may not necessarily make things better or worse. I must say though that I have little doubt the experience I person would not exhibit this phenomena to any significant degree. Human hearing is pretty good at compensating for such anomalies due to the simple fact that the brain smooths anomalies like this very effectively with even the slightest head movements. That is something you don't get with static microphones. The fact that this system sounds so good in a video on TH-cam recorded through microphones in a physical room is a testament to the quality of the system.

Pretty cool, and I get the appeal; but, how many viewers understand: It's a recording; Played back through speakers that are mic'd; Uploaded; Playback is through (mostly really crappy) computer speakers. There's zero fidelity in this. I'm not dumping on the creator, seems like a truly remarkable system, just 99% of the population has no idea what actual quality playback is (if it can be achieved). That said, the creator knows how to mic (understanding all the broken links in "how we got here"), wasn't half bad played back on an inexpensive headphone amp a pair of ATH-M70x.

Dire Straits were the first band to embrace digital. So try playing the cd on your installation. As you know the technician has to compress the original recording to get it onto a lp. On a cd he does not compress at all. So there is much much much much more information on a cd. Don't stay in the eighties. Join and embrace new technology. You don't need all this equipment to let a song sound fabulous. If you have enough money buy a separate cd transport and a good dac. You won't believe how good it sounds than
Perhaps one could buy Dire Straits themselves for the price of this hardware (or at least a private concert) 😉 But that wouldn't be as satisfying or exciting as owning absurdly expensive equipment for the sake of it... Still, that could be explained. But delighting in its sound played via YT recording and a smartphone?.. 😳 Audiophilia is clearly a mental disease.

Has that upper midrange and treble over-emphasis that wealthy audiophiles love. Men over age 50 with lack of high end hearing experience this as "detailed". Fairly obvious dynamics at play.
Something said about just using a good integrated amp will do just as well. Bullshit! I have a decent integrated amp in using now. The main amps a pair of Tube Monoblcks and I can honestly say. NO COMPARISON. Totally shrunken Soundstage, Dynamics are No where near what was . Left to Right Shrunk. Back to Front half what it was. Hope to get them back soon.

But, I'm not actually listening to those speakers and tube amplifiers. The sound I am hearing comes from PC speakers. The illusion was great.
@@WellsLarry Thank you. 🙂
Stepladders are an optional extra
lol 😀
Very clean and open sound but there's something I'm not liking in the midrange around 400 - 600Hz. It may just be a mic placement thing though.
Thank you for your comment. The frequency range you specified is pretty specific. Could you kindly explain to us how you figured out if you don't mind? It will help us improve. Thank you. 🙂
Is that a domestic setting ?
Actually, they worked, but the focus lights were too bright. :-) Thank you for watching. :-)
Thank you for watching. We try to record the sound you hear from the sweet spot of the particular place as closely as possible, so the microphone placement is rather unorthodox.
@@bachglocke3716 Well, that's actually not the case because of the spec of the microphones. We've tried. 🙂
@@HiFiImmersion Was habt Ihr denn für Mikrofone?
@@bachglocke3716 They are DPA4011As.
One tiny error in recording this... there is a final drum snare shot at the very end, you cut that part off. Super minor, but true.
😀 Thank you for watching until the end. 😉
that's quite a flex...
Thank you for watching. 🙂

At least all of the blinking stuff seems to work. The only thing annoying me is that constant humming aound in the background. Probably coming from the nuclear plant nearby to drive this bunch of energy eaters.
:-D
Pretty cool, and I get the appeal; but, how many viewers understand: It's a recording; Played back through speakers that are mic'd; Uploaded; Playback is through (mostly really crappy) computer speakers. There's zero fidelity in this. I'm not dumping on the creator, seems like a truly remarkable system, just 99% of the population has no idea what actual quality playback is (if it can be achieved). That said, the creator knows how to mic (understanding all the broken links in "how we got here"), wasn't half bad played back on an inexpensive headphone amp a pair of ATH-M70x.
@@JC-iz2lv We are doing our best to record the system as closely as what you would hear at the sweet spot of that particular place and try to upload as much information as possible. Hopefully the audio quality of TH-cam improves over time so that you can enjoy more. Thank you for watching. 🙂
While this sounds insanely good, some people can totally waste bucket loads of money to gain incremental improvements in sound over systems that cost way less and this system is a prime example of that excess. That TT is ridiculously over engineered......and seriously, ONE decent integrated amp is all you need......but I love the look of those speakers.
Thank you for watching. 🙂
if this sounds good to u it's because your system is good
@@maverictomcat 😄 Indeed! Thank you for watching. 🙂

Grazie! :-)

Of course, now it’s been played once, the vinyl will have to be thrown away as all the Peter Belt magic bachelor nanoparticles have evaporated.
Haha that name is a blast from the past, wonder if they have sheets of A4 paper under the couch 😂
@@jonjones. lots…. But you mustn’t look at them or the effect is ruined. 😉
You won't believe how good it sounds than
I just cannot not hear clicks and crackles, love the involvement of vinyl but spoils it for me

Do you really need this kind of equipment to play a 16bit/44.1khz digitally recorded track?
Good god, is there a more impressive set up uo than this.....I think not!
Audiophilia is clearly a mental disease.
Please use better equipment to watch it then. 😉 Thank you for watching! 🙂

Pretentious is the word.
I suppose its the same as "Why have a 1940's classic car when you could buy a new all singing & dancing car with ABS , turbos, power steering, air con, heated seats etc etc,.... its the class & possibly the nostalgia and the art form of having a quality hi fi system.
I was hoping it'd be a cover version of the Metallica song. Slightly disappointed, but still cool nonetheless.
@@TheKnobCalledTone. Thank you! 🙂

We agree. One needs to try out. Thank you for your comment. 🙂
Sounds expensive .
Unfortunately, better the sound gets, more expensive it is, but we can dream of having one. 🙂 Happy and prosperous New Year to you! 🙂
