Thank you for your Mayflower/AMK walkabout Alan. You must be getting ready for the Mid Autumn Festival 2021. I have already eaten my share of Mooncakes. Hehe . Noticed there's a distinct lack of crowds these days. But I guess there's a reason for that. Or maybe it's the time of your walk. Stay healthy and stay safe 🇸🇬👍
Just happened to see this video, Beautiful ❤️ I strongly feel the old estates retains the humble society Singapore was once upon a time Now, new estates has lost the human touch 😔
I think its a lot busier in the mornings and weekends =) That said, I am not familiar with the area so a person who knows can reply here and share more details
Good evening Allen (7:06 EST, Aug 9th 2021). What a nice day for a walk in Singapore. I noticed that some Hawker eateries (I hope that's the correct name) (businesses) were closed, while others are open and, appear to be doing okay...do you possibly know the reason for this? Travel safely global friend 🌍, always rest easy 🌻☕🌆💕.
We call them Hawker Centres =) Some hawker centres have certain operating hours, some open early in the morning, others can open till late at night. I believe Mayflower is more of a morning type of hawker centre.
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Thank you Allen...I wasn't aware of that. I assumed, that most of Singapore's restaurants open at the same time. Thanks for the clarification 😊.
@@candy876 I think the hawker centres opening hours kind of grew organically. Some hawker centres are in the middle of housing estates and may experience increased demand for a lunch and dinner crowd, and the hawkers adjusted their schedules accordingly.
The Feng Shui at mayflower food market is very bad. Before MRT was even build. This use to be a very dark and ulu place where nobody wants to walk. Behind this area is covered by mountains and landed property . The only business here that sustain well is only McDonald All shops are always closed and empty

I think its because the hawker centre is a morning type. Sadly I am not a morning person 🤣 Must find the determination to wake up earlier to film
@ Discovery Walking Tours TV _But seriously do be careful Alan, the recent spike in community cases is very concerning. Take care_
@@jeremykwan1792 Yeah its definitely a cause for concern but its the new reality now. Just wear a mask everywhere I go and don't eat in public places.

Thanks Jega 😊 I miss the older estates too
This place will change quite a bit now that the MRT station is open... Prices sure up!
Haha. I don't know how much more expensive things can get in Singapore anymore
Great video !
OMG... The mayflower hawker center is worst than a ghost town.... Totally empty. Was it always like that? So sad.

It's always like that one. It's already better after MRT construction

Yeah its sad to see the place so quiet. I wonder if its the same during weekends
What video camera you using?
Using a FX3 to film
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV The colours are very punchy!
@@retrovox Sadly it wasn't intended. TH-cam does an additional level of saturation for HDR video during its processing which kind of drives me crazy.
How are you brother alan?
nice thanks for the video! 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Thanks for visiting =)
This is also one of the worst MRT
. It takes forever to walk.
And it's all the way down
best regards from Indonesia
Warm greetings from Singapore 😊
